My favorite one recently is in Taken, a guy gets his head cut in half by a bulldozer.

He's just walking down a hall, and then out of nowhere, BOOM, a friggin axe to the spine.

Also, this is beside the point, but in the pencil trick scene from the Dark Knight, nobody actually died.

I've discussed this with friends over a pizza and a few beers. The eventual winner was the 'Church Spire Death' from Hot Fuzz.

Planet Terror had some pretty fantastic death scenes, even if one ended up being (unintentionally?) hilarious.

I would say the death of 14K in Death Race. Awesome.

Also, when Trinity kills the Smith in the Matrix. "Dodge this", slow mo bullet in the head.

I liked tom hank's death in tropic thunder. I also liked Clint eastwoods death in gran torino.

Not sure if its in the movie, but in Hellbound Heart (Hellraiser) Frank is ripped apart by chains with hooks.-Hellraiser(Hellbound Heart)

One that i found amazing was from a film called "Wicked Little Things"
a guy gets a pole stabbed through him by some little zombie-like kid and then like 8 other zombie kids come out with pick axes, hammers and shovels, repeatedly stab the dude then eat him....BRUTAL
