On a more serious note, I always found the Zerg in Starcraft to be a massive ripoff of the Tyranid from Warhammer 40K
Are you s****** me?! (I know you're not since I just check out the Transmorpher trailer which I shudder at the sight of it).

Anyway the only that pop into my mind is Mondy Night Combat is a bit like Team Fortress 2. It's similar in that MNC it is also colour vs colour (in this case orange vs blue), there are character classes to choose from and the graphic is cartoony like Team Fortress. Yeah it's a shooter but it's 3rd person shooter not 1st person.

Well I may as well grab the obvious one before someone else does matrix and GITS

But I don't care they are both awesome movies and have their own originality. Neither did either of their directors as GITS then gave a shout out to the matrix in one of their future shows.

I don't think the problem is how much you copy but how many original things you add to it and how good a job you did that determine weather it's a crappy ripoff or not.
Fuck yeah, love that show and you're right. I don't mind rip-offs if they're done well. Summer Wars with Digimon The Movie, even though they're the same director!

I think the real problem is that we've somehow got it in our heads that if something is even remotely similar to something else, it's a rip off. This method of thinking is WRONG!!
I don't know how this got started, but if it was Yahtzee I'm going to fly down to Australia right now and beat him senseless with a 2x4! Many well know and established franchises were inspired by something else. Bob Kane borrowed many elements from Zorro when he created Batman. A lot of Star Wars is based on old Japanese samurai movies.
Look at the StarCraft space marines and those of Warhammer 40K. Yes they look similar, but they are completely different. The Starcraft space marines aren't over-powered psychos that go stomping all over civilizations at the whim of a single man with a god complex. No, most of the Starcaft space marines are the descendants of crimminals that are stuck in armour that barely protects them worth shit.

Bohemian Rhapsody is such a ripoff of this song! I mean, guitar solo, same song structure, everything!

This "Queen" band is totally ruining modern music!

Ever go to Blockbuster? They have a whole section for rip offs.

Snakes on a Train
Paranormal Entity
Dude, Where's the Party? (Stealth rip off till you watch it and see it's a Dude, Where's my Car copy starring Kumar from Harold and Kumar before he was semi-famous)
Space Wars
Lone One (Rambo rip off in every form)

'Transmorphers'

Actually, anything ever made by the studio [a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Asylum"]The Asylum[/a] who basically specialize in horribly low-budget knock offs to piggy back onto the success or release of real movies with the hopes of snatching up people who are none the wiser.

Well there is this bothersome franchise that ropped of Doom, a space marine with green armor shooting monsters, only thing this franchise, instead of improving gaming, it popularized shitty stuff like carrying 2 weapons max and health regen, and this game is also very overrated especially in the 360 community, if only I could figure out what it's called....

I keed I keed :D

You read Eragon?

...Well, I'm praying for you, if nothing else.

And you've all probably heard of Transmorphers by now, so....yeah.

Transmorphers. A movie about robots from another planet.

I give you 1 guess for what it's ripping off.

EDIT: Also, Sunday school musical.

Medal of Honor 2010 is a shamefully ripoffs Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. No seriously it is pretty much modern Warfare 2 in Iraq.
So... it's a copy of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare then?

I think it's ripping off more than 1 at once.

"About a race of alien robots that have conquered Earth and forced humanity underground."

As you couldn't pay me enough to watch that crap I have one question after reading it's description. It isn't trying to rip off Gurren Lagann with the whole humanity underground thing is it?

I was just going to say this but you beat me to it!
I think it's unfair to say that anything that follows the heroes journey archetype is a Star Wars rip off. Do you really think star wars was the first story to follow that formula?
Here, look:
http://www.mcli.dist.maricopa.edu/smc/journey/ref/summary.html
See how well that matches up with Star Wars? And EVERY GOD DAMN MOVIE EVER MADE? (Except David Lynch's movies, he accidentally peed on his copy.)
Granted I've never seen Eragon, so maybe it did follow what star wars did really closely, but to call it a rip off, you need to copy ideas that exist within the formula that set it apart and make it unique. For example, here is David Hasselhoff fighting a robot with a lightsaber:

There are quite a few more similarities between the Inheritance cycle and Star Wars than the simple monomyth.

I gotta say Dante's Inferno ripped real bad off of God of War. I liked the game, but damn it was the samething for the most part.
