Oblivion, pre-ordered it as all of my american friends were raving about it as if it was the best thing since jesus.
Controls are horrible, the graphics were so damn awful (despite that aparently being one of the major selling points that it looked Next-Generation.. maybe the graphics in PC games had spoilt me?) there were like 5 different voice actors, the main quest was truely boring, etc.
A few months back some of my friends who love it to bits tried to get me in to it again, saying that it only becomes good once you've put in a bit of time to it; blah blah... but sorry it was just a freaking crap and buggy game that felt truely painful to play. Especially at how unstructured it was.
Don't get me wrong I do quite enjoy sandbox games, like GTA, Elite or FarCry 2. Oblivion however just felt like it was something made by talentless fans of a gaming series that to be honest wan't exactly grand to begin with.
It's strange in all given this is probably one of the biggest Xbox 360 (PC/PS3) titles released, and most of the others people have listed they don't like... I really quite enjoyed playing through.
Two Worlds, alright so I didn't get it full price is let's be honest so bad in every respect it's actually amusing to play. Mind you whenever I get bored in a game I make up my own dialog with my brother as we're playing, but it's like a B-Movie. It's fun because it's just so bad.
Mirror's Edge I thought was just amazing ^_^ honestly I wouldn't mind seeing a Tomb Raider game that used that style of play, cause it'd kick-ass! In-fact the only people I know who don't like that game are those who are just crap at it.
Fable 2 it's just like the first one, great to go through once but does get boring quickly. It's a good solid generic action rpg, alright so not exactly as awsome as say seeing Link in HD Graphics but still it's a good laugh. Sides, it's not like there is anything like Jakk & Daxster or Zelda on the Xbox 360 anyway. Fable fills that nitch quite well, just a shame it leaves you kinda wishing there was a bit more to it or that the main story was a bit more compelling.
Too Human, got that one on budget... mainly because of playing the demo. This isn't one I would've actually been pissed at throwing £40 on, although I am happier I got it at budget price. The issue with this game really boils down to the actual gameplay itself, because on the face of it; it's quite enjoyable. In-fact the controls aren't exactly awful like some titles I could list, they just feel a bit clumsy. It's the same with the menu system.
In-fact the real thing that actually annoys me about that game is the difficulty curve, where in it doesn't have one really. The enemies are adapted to whatever level you're currently at so no matter how well you do from the start, the next set of enemies will always be X level if you are Y level. Suppose to be "adaptive" but instead it just makes you rely more on finding ridiculously powerful weapons. Good example, the second mission I was getting my ass handed to me left and right despite the exact same enemies the mission before they were easy as pie. No matter how much I leveled beating horde after horde only to restart a section and have to beat them again, they didn't really get easier. The second I found a weapon that was over 4x more powerful that everything I had or could make, and BAM! everything suddenly became a walk in the park again (well until the ridiculously overpowered boss that only has a specific weakness that you have to find out with no sodding help).
Those are not "bad" games, but still I wouldn't have been totally disappointed with them in the same way that I was with Oblivion. I REALLY do want to find something to like about the game, especially as so many others I know enjoy it so much but I just can't find anything.
