Slipknot and Disturbed.

But that's most likely because we live in an age of techno and pop nd almost everyone at my school listens tot hat. It seems like my friends and I are the only oes who like them.

Insane Clown Posse, it seems most people arn't very fond of them
EXCEPT THEM. If I wanted slightly religious and blatantly homophobic lyrics, I'd listen to 50 Cent.

But: I Listen to everything else.

Nickelback
Green Day
Linkin Park
Hilary Duff
Backstreet Boys
Metallica (Pre and post Black Album)
Slipknot
Aerosmith
Nightwish
Garth Brooks
Antonin Dvorak
Ludwig Von Beethoven
Joe Diffie
Charlie Daniels
Johnny Cash
My Chemical Romance
Limp Bizkit
Ludacris

EVERYTHING. EXCEPT ICP.
i have never ever heard hate for nightwish. ever. they are my fav band. and everyone else i know hasn't heard of them besides the 2 foreign kids. (fucking americans dont know about any good european music that isn't the beatles, who i find meh ironically)

but yeah, lady gaga, and aqua (just the song barbie girl, makes me happy for some reason). some catchy tunes, but also some crap, just like all bands ('cept nightwish. WOO FANBOYISM! but yeah its all a matter of opinion, so dont take that too seriously)

I see a lot of hate for Disturbed on these forums. That and the whole Nu Metal genre, so I guess it would be that. I don't understand the hate for Nu Metal and Disturbed has been consistently good throughout all of their albums. Sure, Asylum and Indestructible aren't as good as the first three (IMO) but they still have some great songs on them.
See, I'm the other way around. I really don't like Disturbed's earlier "Nu-Metal" stuff, while the new albums just keep getting better. It may be because I prefer clean vocals, but their evolution from Nu Metal to Hard Rock is an improvement in my book. Their music has gotten cleaner and more complex since the earlier albums, so that might be the critical difference.

I like 1 or 2 tracks off of "The Sickness", about 50% of Believe, and almost every song from Ten Thousand Fists, Indestructible, and Asylum. Kinda weird...

Green Day. Absolutely love them. One of the few mainstream bands that continue to evolve throughout their career, listening to their albums in order really shows how they have progressed.

I like a lot of older non mainstream stuff like Operation Ivy too. Not that it gets any hate, just not that many people that actually like it.

I think Draiman has one of the best voices around when it comes to more "accessible" hard rock. Plus their songs that Harmonix has released for Rock Band are a blast to play on drums, even if my leg is completely destroyed afterward.

The Aquabats! and just about any ska music. I don't know why people hate ska.
Ska is awesome, my favorites are Streetlight manifesto and Suburban legends (But some of they're stuff is more pop nowadays)

OT: Another for Linkin Park.

The funny thing is that Disturbed is probably my most normal band. Everything else I listen to is either some form of metal or electronic music (barely any normal rock, and no teen-pop shit). They are also the most mainstream band I listen to since most of my favorite bands are from Europe or Asia. Sadly, nobody near me has heard of Saltatio Mortis, Neuroticfish, Colony 5, Flesh Field, Dark Princess, Mercenary, Sirenia, E Nomine, or Arkona...

Oh man, I'm glad you mentioned them. I went to a show last year and Suburban Legends opened for The Aquabats. It was the best show ever.

I actually might be going to see them this coming week. Mind you, they are still fucking terrible (which is why I'm going), but they get way more hate than they deserve.

I kinda like Ke$ha. I understand why people hate her, but it's entertaining enough to listen to.

Nickelback, some Linkin Park.

I don't push my musical tastes on anyone, other than introducing a couple of my friends to Homestuck's soundtrack, so I don't give a flying shit about what people think about my tastes. Just wanted to get that out there.

It kinda annoys me how whenever somebody mentions SL they always say how they opened a show, they are good enough to have their own show Dammit

I would say My Chemical Romance.

People hate them and pass them off as "emo", but they're quite talented in my opinion.

I listen Ke$ha and Lil Wayne, though mostly just for the lols.

I love Fall Out Boy and Panic! At the Disco. I know a lot of people hate them.

I really enjoyed Hollywood Undead's first album. Their new one is a piece of shit, but their first album, and the songs released before it, were fantastic.

I adore James Blunt.

Nicki Minaj is one of my favorite new artists.

EDIT: I never knew 30 Seconds to Mars was considered a hated band. I guess add them on my list. I love Jared Leto.

I am not going to post any bands here because it's not fair on others. I should give other people a reasonable chance to win the thread.

Green Day springs to mind, and I feel like I'm the only person I know who thought that American Idiot was better than the group's previous stuff (which wasn't bad, just not as good)

Good Charlotte gets a lot of negative criticism because of the whiny voice and the seeming hypocrisy of a bunch of Malibu kids rebelling against their well off parents, but that's what I like about them.

I like Justin Bieber...as a person, and try to not complain about his music because I know that I'm not his target demographic. It's like saying that the plot to an episode of "Barney the Dinosaur" is too simplistic, when you're a 20 year old

My Chemical Romance, although they are in the 50/50 category. (I have a tweet of Hideo Kojima unpacking his Limited Edition of their new album)

Also, goddamn Katy Perry.
haha same here

I dont see why so many people dislike katy perry I think she can actually sing

as for MCR I loved black parade and their new album, I never saw them as "emo"
