I hate the dream sequence normally, however, the movie Next with Nicholas Cage actually pulls it off pretty damn well. That is the one time I will agree/okay the dream sequence, because they actually told you about it at the beginning that he can *SPOILER ALERT* see an ungodly amount of time into the future so long as it concerns his beloved. *SPOILER OVER*
Star Ocean the Last Hope.
"Oh no, the unstable sidekick/best friend who 'mysteriously' disappeared in a flash of light that should have killed him actually saved his alien ass and turned him into the most powerful living being on the planet, warping his morals and whatnot."
Yeah, didn't see that one coming.

The main character survives, by some kind of magic, even though every event so far indicates they should have died, ie: The Matrix or Fight Club. (That one was especially bad. He shoots himself in the mouth and lives!)
I wanted Scar to be victorious in the Lion King. I'm always rooting for the villains.
OP: Ass Creed 2.

Sweet, cookie! *om nom nom*
Also annoying from that game:
Olga dying. You're playing as raiden. You kill dozens of metal gears. Cutscene kicks in and your rewarded by raiden being too lazy to keep fighting them, which brings about another pointless death. You know, it'd be okay if they just kept sending them until you ran out of health or something, but no, I did great, and I was rewarded in the cutscene with my character going for a nap beneath a giant robotic foot. Gah! Lazy git...

Anytime when the villian should have won because he was kicking the main character's ass but all of a sudden something random happens that causes him to lose. (I'm looking at you Avatar). So pretty much a dues ex machina. I don't really like those.

I'm not too sure about endings I hate but a good one was Fallout's ending (the very first game).

SPOILER WARNING! Because Tyler is a mental hallucination? It doesn't make sense why the narrator had to shot himself though. Couldn't he have just willed him away? I don't know, maybe he had to shot himself to show the mental will needed to destroy his other personality. END SPOILER
What about if the main character was fighting the bad guys and it turns out to be a dream. The main character wakes up and sits up on his/her bed, but when the lay down again, they see the bad guy holding a gun to their head at point blank then *Bang*

For the love of god, the ending's been done countless times! What I want is a series that closes with the bad guys winning. No sequels, no spinoffs, no videos; I want to see if a developer has the balls to put the bad guys in power
