One thing that always annoys me is having to explain games with subscription fees like WoW. They find out you have to buy it and then keep paying for it and I usually just end up telling them it's because they're greedy bastards.(I do feel that's part of it but there's more to it I know)
I'm sure this has already be said, but anything coming out of the mouths of Michael Atkinson or Jack Tompson.

I agree that the whole "video games causes violence" argument needs to be shut down, purely to put the sad tired old thing out of its misery.

A guy I know asks if he should get Dragon Age: Origins, setting off a conversation that began with a response from a friend of mine.
Friend: It sucks, don't buy it.
Me: Why does it suck?
Friend: I played it for 20 minutes as a mage, got bored, and took it back to GameStop.
Me: So you're saying it sucks because you had a bad experience with it?
Friend: No, it sucks because it's a boring, generic fantasy game.
Me: Really? Because I played as a mage for more than 20 minutes, and then it got good.
Friend: I find that hard to believe.
Me: Actually, after playing Dragon Age for a while, I'm finding that it's possibly the best dark fantasy RPG I've ever played.
Friend: What's wrong with Oblivion?
Me: I got bored after the first few slow hours.
Friend: BLASPHEMY! How can you get bored at the beginning of the game?! Patrick Stewart does the voice of Emperor Uriel Septim!
