"My opinion. (Just that, no qualifiers or explanation)

/thread"

For me, this is one of the most irritating things to read, and a waste of a post. Declaring the thread 'over' because you've given your opinion is incredibly arrogant, and if you do indeed think your answer is the definitive one, then damn well justify it! Don't just say

'FFVII.

/thread'

Because, really, it isn't.

Equally, whenever someone quotes another person, usually making a valid point. The quoter's contribution? "This".. Yes, we've seen it. What about it? I'm fairly sure it's already been seen. You know, the same way you yourself saw it? Quoting someone else and limply acknowledging it does not make it your point, further the discussion, or flatter the person who did bother to think.

Rant over.

Do these annoy anyone else, or just me?

Are there any particular things that people do that annoy you?
/Thread annoys me.

People who say "Ninja'd" annoy me, too. It's like "this," but it digs me more. Even in this thread, there's a chance someone posted these things first. But they haven't "Ninja'd" me.

If I agree, I may begin with "I agree," but I'm going to say more after. Or not at all.

And when everyone and their mom has to make a new thread on an issue because their thoughts (which are probably repeats anyway) NEED to be posted. I don't mind a couple of repeats. It happens. but we seem to have had like a billion "piracy loophole" threads of late, for example, and it's tedious.

1. Religion! Now before I get "internetz raped" let me explain. I have nothing against religion, but I despise religious arguments, mostly because both sides (atheists, Christians, what ever) turn into stupid twats! Live and let live, *****!

2. "I lost my faith in humanity". What does this tell me about you? You aren't edgy, or dark and mysterious! You're a little controllable twat acting "kuul". Even if you truly believe that, you were manipulated into thinking like that.

3. "That blank you blanked is blanking your mom", Zombie threads, Survival threads, repetitive threads, "I hate blank, make me like it"-

4. "My life sucks!" If you can post on the internet about how bad your life is, it's probably pretty good! Shit happens to EVERYONE!!!

5. The depression in this forum.

6. People trying to argue over the internet!

7. KIDS!!! No wait... immature KIDS!!!
I don't want to say "this", since it's another one of the really annoying things people do, but you've pretty much summed up all the other irritating stuff in these forums. So, to demonstrate how annoying it is:

This.

/thread

See? Don't you just want to punch me in the face now?
I DO want to punch you, but since you agree with me I'm just going to give you an angry glare! <.<

@OP, I've gotten put on probation for having said only "this" with a quote, so I know that it's against forums rules to do so. If you see a post like that, you can report it.

I also hate when I get reported for something and put on probation a week after I posted it.
Hmm... don't want to be nosy, but why did you get on probation???
"This has to be the worst web comic ever made"? What's so bad about that?

I'm pretty damn new, but I'd read the comments a lot for different videos before I signed up here, so I'll say something. What I hate (albeit it's still better here than some forums I've seen), is how some people act like pc gaming came down straight from the hand of God, while console gaming is what Satan does on his weekends to relax after a good evening's damnation.

That's lovely if you like it better, but this comment is directed to the people who belittle console gamers for being idiots because of a matter of opinion, eh? Sometimes people just really don't want to constantly upgrade, y'know?

As an aside, I'm pretty good for both, although most of my multiplayer is done on the consoles. PC is for anything RTS or things like Fallout.

Splinter posts are a thorn in my side, and not surprisingly, tend to crop up most in arguments. Scattering my argument into component parts does not validate their points, nor does it do anything to demonstrate knowledge of how a coherent, believable argument is formed.

A small demonstration:

"What's wrong with splinter posts?"

You sound a little uncertain. Not so confident now, are you?

Right and wrong? They don't exist, n00b.

splinter posts
Did you coin that term? Where are your quotations? That's plagiarizing!

...See what I mean?
This.

OT: While I do agree that splinter posts are annoying, quoting some one and just saying "This," is too. People just piggyback on the opinions of others instead of forming their own.

Fucked if I know...can we say that? But yeah, saying you hate a comic in the comment section is wrong here I guess. A few post down I give a more detailed account of why I hate the particular comic. Perhaps if I did that in the same post I wouldn't be on probation.

When People Type Like This
Oh God yes. No criticism intended if you yourself were once and offender, but I don't understand at. At least when people type phonetically (which I also despise) you can understand where they're coming from. But I Just Don't Understand Why Every New Word Needs A Capital Letter. It baffles me!
¬.¬ I have friends on Facebook who do it all the time, and partly because I suspect that they just don't know where capital letters are supposed to go. As one of my good friends put it, reading it in your head is always like speaking with your eyebrows raised xD

OT: Also like you said at the beginning; people who think their opinion is a fact piss me off just as much on the internet as they do in real life. I came across a youtube comment the other day that proclaimed that a series had quite simply the best story ever in its genre and there was no denying or arguing this fact. It was the highest rated comment too, and whilst I remember silently agreeing with them on the quality of the series I really resented that idiotic way of thinking.

Those idiots who yell "FIRST!" are what annoy me the most.

Seriously, put more thought into it than that.

That is the one I dislike the most.
You try drudging through any moderately scientific or religious yahoo news post comments and see if you have any respect for your fellow man afterwards!

*takes deep breath*

Yea, now that you mention it that does get kind of old and meaningless.
The +10 faith in humanity posts are still pretty good though.

When a comment states what has already been said repeatedly, example:

Joe: What is better PS3 Or Xbox?
Arnold Schwarzenegger: No vs threads here, sorry.
Linda: Yeah, there are no vs threads.
Tim-Tam: Xbox 360, but there are no Vs Threads
007 James Blonde: No vs threads
20 Similar posts later...
2-Inch-Sausage-Boy: No vs threads, geez don't you read the rules?

THANK YOU 2-INCH-SAUSAGE-BOY! I didn't get that we aren't allowed vs threads from the first 24 comments saying the same thing!

Also people who say something absolutely stupid and then try to defend it. People who claim their opinion is correct on something extremely controversial. People who say religion is retarded. People who say Atheism is retarded. People who hate when I say screamo music is the same as metal music. People who call republicans stupid. People who call democrats stupid. People who don't care about politics so much they don't even know who they are voting for.

People who blindly follow Yahtzee from Zero Punctuation, Okay I will admit he is a funny guy at the right time. The thing is people think he is so funny they copy his opinions and thoughts to try to be him, when really I think it would often be quite terrible to be him.
