Opinion based posts are great, because you get to hear about some of the best games but in this case, best music of a game.

For me, IMO:
Mortal Kombat Theme

Nothing gets you more pumped up than hearing this techno beat of pure awesome and this is a very old song if you take into facts of music and gaming because this was from the 1990s and basically music really didn't take off in games until the late 80s and early 90s to my knowledge.

So whats yours?

At the end?

Like a credits song? Then I don't know if MK counts..

It's not really a theme song, since it's licensed, though...

For general game theme songs?

Piece of cake.

Er...wait...no...Wild ARMs...damn it...No. Legend of Mana. Fuck! Morrowind? Oblivion! I can't choose. Dragon Age? I'll just post a ton of stuff.

"M4 Part Two" by Faunts....plays at the end of Mass Effect.

Best credits song ever, if you're alright with music that isn't necessarily the theme, per se.

Total /thread. Any song that is actually more famous than the game - while only appearing in the game normally - just screams awesome.

For Science.

Only two songs from the credits of games have really stuck out to me. Still Alive (of course) from Portal (of course X2 combo!) and more recently, this:

Well, in that case, someone has to mention the other song from a videogame called "Still Alive" that plays during the end credits:

So it may as well be me.

I really liked Mass Effect's ending song, myself. It did a good job of making me reflect on what my character and his crew had been through. Portal's still alive was of course very memorable, but only because it's amusing, not because it made any deeper connection.

The Mortal Kombat theme was never actually in any of the games, if I recall correctly.

Memorable ending song? This one has been sticking with me quite a bit.

I'm going to disregard what the OP said, because a thread about the most memorable ending song is more interesting.

Yeah, take a wild guess at what game used that..

Yeh, there that's one too. But as you say, spoilers. Hopefully this one will remain "pure" and not get ground into a soulless byproduct of its original self by internet, and then popular culture in the way that Still Alive did.

Frankly it didnt have the same charm has still alive did. Was it ctachy? sure. but truth be told we all expected a song at the end and it didnt stick as true as the original. i think its suffering some fallout:NV syndrome
