On the sheer "wow" factor: The intro of Final Fantasy VIII and the "Deep Dive" teaser from the very end of Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix.

Also, the set of final battles in KH2. I know it's mostly gameplay, but the experience was very cinematic.
Never liked the plot of the game too much, but it did have some serious epic moments.

I Have to agree, the final cutscene was pretty awesome, although the final good/evil choice was a giant let-down !SPOILER! I mean why would you let the council die, there's no point!

Oh yeah and like the whole second half of Halo 3, and before you say anything yes i am a Halo fanboy and proud of it

That was a terrible cut-scene. Your typical pro-milita, patriotic American crap. You see something like that in just about every jerry Bruckheimer film going. At least Verhoeven's Starship Troopers did it in an ironic, comedic way.

Posting here purely to agree whole-heartedly with this guy.

Actually, most mind-blowing cutscene... the interactive one in MGS4 where you crawl down the corridor. I think I speak for most when I said that that was expertly done.

The L4D intro movie is great, and is good in that it explains why and how the survivors ended up on the roof at the beginning of No Mercy.

I also like the movie in Final Fantasy VII, where Cloud is on the bike leaving the Shinra HQ.

Yeah, that was pretty awesome. I think a close second is the one where Shepard talks Saren into killing himself. I did it by accident--totally didn't see it coming.
