One of my favourites is in the finale to the second season to NCIS
They raid a building with a bunch of terrorists in and clear it out. They get to the top, clear that and stop the terror plan. They a guy who hid comes on to the roof and takes a shot at the leader. One of the operatives jumps in the way and takes the bullet. The other two take out the guy. Then you're like "Oh my God! She's dead" and then you're like "Wait no, she's probably got a bulletproof vest on" and sure enough, she does. She gets helped up the it's like "Wow, that almost ended badly". Then BAM, sniper bullet to the head. It comes the fuck out of nowhere, and that's her, dead.

I watched oldboy a couple of weeks ago. Man...that film wouldn't have gotten made here. But I recommend it if you like having your mind blown.

Well, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni/ Hihigurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai.
You need to watch all of it so it makes sense.
But you don't really expect it to be that way, when you do find out what was happening.
I don't want to type what happens, I'd rather get people interested by posting something cryptic, so they go and get addicted to the anime. :D

Fight Club of course.
I knew the twist of Fight Club before my first viewing. Oh well, I guess that's what I get for watching it for the first time in 2009.

I agree. Pretty much anything by M. Night Shyamalan
Some of his later twists are kind of stupid. The seems pretty forced. That's why I'm really worried about the The Last Airbender movie, which he is directing. I think he'll force some stupid twist about how the avatar is actually a cat or something.

I wouldn't say everything. In fact with Mr. Shyamalan nowadays a twist is always expected, hence the meme "what a twist!".
So when you least expect it, expect it (man that was terrible)

Pick one of these:
  • Fight Club
    The Sixth Sense
    Star Wars
    Toy Story
    The Usual Suspects.
Totally not The Sixth Sense. I knew the ending ten minutes into the movie. It was still entertaining, but there were no surprises. Good call on The Usual Suspects, though. Didn't see that one coming. I should probably see that again some day...

I'd have to go with the plot-twist/plot-reveal of The Machinist. The movie sets it up from the first moment, yet no one I have talked to saw it coming. Then again, The Machinist is a superb movie.

The Others? Is that what it is called? With Nicole Kidman?

I didn't see that coming somehow, call me what you will. Also, I didn't expect the Atlas thing in Bioshock, the scene with Andrew Ryan blew my mind.
