Fahrenheit... for the first 10 minutes...ok, ok, more like 1 hour. You get to talk to your ex-girlfriend, get her some boxes and play guitar, then drink and go to sleep. Isn't that realistic?

when heavy rain comes out it will probably be ridiculously realistic
Realistic looking but it will probably fall down a simmilar hole that it's predacessor Farenheit did, that being that it's trying to be a blend of a movie and a game (neither of which are known for their dedication to reality), it may not do it as badly as Farenheit did (zombie savior and the glowstick-man death cult?) but it will certainly be far from what we define as 'realistic'.
As far as i heard, it's about a normal family getting involved in some kind of mafia business or something. They really seem to be learning from mistakes they did (except not releasing the bloody thing for PC).

Far Cry 2 the shrapnel wounds realistic foliage and great graphics make for one really great looking game.
If you could explain how forcing a shotgun shell out of your elbow somehow makes you healthier, I'd love to know.

Similarly, how can anyone say the CoD games are realistic? The weapons maybe, but the games? No. They've gotten more unrealistic with each passing game.

OT: OpFlash or ARMA games, never played either so couldn't tell you which is exactly.

Steel Battalion is supposed to be realistic to the point of ridiculousness. It's a game where you pilot a giant mecha suit. Sounds like something that doesn't exactly lend itself to realism, right? Wrong! Sit down!

All those fancy knobs and levers? They've all got a purpose. Playing Steel Battalion isn't as simple as turning the game on and going; you've got to memorize and execute a complicated boot sequence, the kind you'd probably have to memorize when starting a plane. Then, only after you've powered up your mech, do you get to move around and 'splode stuff.

But the realism doesn't stop there. If you find yourself in a tight spot, you'll be given multiple prompts to eject. After all, if your mecha's about to explode, it only makes sense that you'd want to get out in time, right? Well, here's the kicker. If you try to pull a George Kirk (Captain Kirk's father. Sacrificed himself to... Ah, forget it) and pilot your giant mecha through to the explosive end, your character is killed... And your save file is erased, effectively mimicking what real-life death would mean for you.

How's that for realism?
Steel Batallion is the greatest Mech Simulation Engine I've ever played. Unfortunately, once you figure out how to control the damn thing (Your mech is surpsingly nimble once you get the hang of it) you find that there is virtually no fun to be found in the game. Perma death? Fine, I can accept that. But fuel limits, arbitrary time limits, finding crates in a jungle with nothing to point out where to go and unlimited respawning infantry that you can't see until they shoot you, and a vehicle resource limit that effectively works out to a life limit? Sorry, the game lost me.

Worst 200 bucks I ever spent.

That fact that I've seen mewtwo called "ultra realistic" makes me cry.

However, I haven't actually seen what I would qualify as a "realistic game" I played the demo of Operation Flash point, expecting rape your eyes difficulty. I was disappointed.

You know what is realistic about it besides the guns? There are black people in Africa.
It's realistic for a brand new ak to magically collect grime all over it when fired, jamming after 3 magazines and exploding within 10? Same with bolt action rifles that somehow jam because an empty casing teleported itself into the breech when an attempt was made to fire the gun. Or the RPG that has the handle break off after the third rocket.

I find realistic aspects of the game distracting from the gameplay. That's what I play a game for - to play a game. That's why I have so much fun playing classic Bomberman, Super Smash Bros, Magic: The Gathering, and chess. I've never found a game based off of a story or movie any fun, so I guess I don't have a favorite.

Final Fantasy X. Seriously, bear with me...

... [small] Fine, I lied.[/small]

There was a WW2 game a little while back with pretty much no HUD and about two shots killed you. It was very realistic, but utter crap. I can't recall the name...
It's called hardcore mode on multiplayer on mewtwo (mw2)

I always had a soft spot for Mirror's Edge. I know you could take ten hits even on hard mode, but I loved how you could see your body as you moved, (please don't take that the wrong way.) Even now, I can never get used to games like Call of Duty that have you float in the air.

Insurgency is pretty damn realistic... but it is a mod.
I'd say Insurgency, definitely.
No HUD, no way of seeing if you hit anything, hard to tell between friend and foe besides your judgement.

But for a game that is not a mod. I would have to go for... shit. Probably a game I havent played. haha. I play to be entertained

to be honest, i have no idea, because i am physically repulsed (by which i mean violently throwing up) by the gimmick of "realism" in games. though the most realistic game i ever played was probably like GT3 or something.
