First Person Shooters. Then I guess Touhou, but then I love those games to death. Then Guild Wars. All repetitive? Yes. But I love 'em all nonetheless.
Don't you think that's a little unfair to the FPS genre? For example, Half Life 2 was hardly too repetitive, one moment you're smacking boxes with a crowbar, the next you're driving a propeller boat through a swamp, then shooting alien in the face, then commanding giant bugs in a prison, etc etc.

There are some pretty samey wallpaper pastey shooters out there, I admit, but you can find pearls if you look hard enough :)

FFXIII.

Run down linear path... get into fight...

Spam attack!

...you win! Continue on down the corridor.

Oh what's this? I can go left or right? Go left and walk 10 feet... no treasure? Go back, take other way and find treasure, then go back down main path again...

Repeat.

Assassin's Creed 1 by far... To be able to kill the guy you have to gather intel... why do I have to gather damn intel... when I can just scope the place out from a vantage point, sure some of the intel is important like where they will be at such and such a time, but the rest like oh there are a ton of guards on the walls, just isn't needed, wow a ton of guards? Hmm maybe I should look at the building next time I was totally oblivious to those guys without that intel thank you random stranger.

Well, from my perspective I was referring to the genre as a whole. However, I'm not "bashing" it for it (A bit unfair I suppose though), as I'm of the mindset that can tolerate the repetitive-nature of it.
It becomes a problem when it's just tedious.
Now, if the game is tedious, that's another story.

Any hack n slash games basically. God of war comes to mind. Also animal crossing, if their was ever a more pointless game.. Oh and FF11, painful doesn't begin to describe that game.

Every Final Fantasy game. They all start good, then go straight to the shitter.
In my opinion, since FFVII, Final Fantasy has become the most overrated franchise in the history of gaming.

Grand Theft Auto, the entire franchise.

All you essentially do is drive to location A. Talk with someone, and they'll give you a mission. Drive to location B. Put a few bullet holes in people or vehicles. Escape. Repeat.

Ok, so there's a bit of variation within the missions, but essentially you drive from point A to point B and then something happens, and then you drive/run away.

The only thing that saves GTA from being a big repetitive mess is Rockstars ability to tell brilliant stories and have very well written dialouge and characters.
Well, that's a bit unfair. If you take base gameplay and just say "sure there's some variations between missions" you could use that to describe almost every game.

Shadow of the Colossus: you go somewhere, climb up a Colossus, stab it a few times, it falls over. sure there's some variations between Colossi, but the basic goal of the game is very repetitive.

Call of Duty: You land somewhere in a Helicopter, shoot some guys, and find something. Sure there's some differences in the levels and weapons, but the core gameplay remains consistant.

Legend of Zelda: Ride somewhere on your horse, go to a dungeon, solve some puzzles, fight a boss. Sure the dungeons have differences in they're layout, puzzles, and bosses, but the experience is technically the same.

I'm gonna say sports games in general, because you are literally just playing *insertsporthere* over and over again with no variations.

Morrowind, oblivion, Fallout 3, and basically every RPG with the exception of Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines and System Shock 2.

If you list more than one activity in your description, your game is already less repetitive than Dynasty Warriors. These games have you performing a single activity from start to finish with no break or change of pace at any point. That's the definition of repetitive.

Assassin's Creed 1 it was very re-re-repetitive,but I managed to cope with it to the end for the plot.

Assassins Creed. I had more fun running around and pissing off guards than doing the missions. Actually, I think everyone did.

Fucking. Runescape.

I would be playing the shite out of the game if it wasn't for the horrible, horrible incessant repetition of extremely fucking boring shit.
