Exactly. Besides, what are they typing comments on forums with? Oh yeah... a PC. How hard is it to just install a game for these people? I swear these people have trouble breathing while they eat.

"Oh PCs costs thousands"... that's another one that's pathetic and laughable. I hate it when technology illiterates pretend to know what they're talking about.
i found a guy who bought a 360 5times because of rrod and still tries to convince that the pc is more expensive.

"The Wind Waker is ridiculous! He looks like a baby!"
1. The controls are great.
2. So is the rest of the game.
3. You have evidently never seen an actual baby.

Everytime someone argues about which is better, xbox or ps. I have an xbox, not because I prefer the console but because I prefer the games. But it really annoys me when people say things like"but you can watch blu ray". That argument has nothing to do with videogames. This includes other arguments about why ps3 is so great that actually have nothing to do with gaming.

To avoid flaming, I would like a ps3, and I'd like these extras it offers but stop using them as arguments for why it is a better GAMING CONSOLE.
I think the best 360 v. PS3 argument might be a library based one, they both have a few nice exclusive titles, they've also got a shared library, but I've never looked at the PS3 exclusives enough to really decide if it's better or worse than the 360's. Though, the gaming mice for the PS3 that I saw someplace for it did tempt me a bit. Probably the biggest hit against it though is the price.

So, let me see if I can make one of these:

The 360 is a better than the PS3 for a couple of reasons, first, its cheaper, if that's not an issue then congradulations, but, a cheeper console means you can afford more games. It has a larger and older library, since older games come down in price, again, you can aford more games than you could with the PS3. Because its a larger library, the 360 has more variety in its titles. Finally, and this goes both ways, there's a lot of 360 exclusive DLCs that don't make it over to the PS3, even on major AAA titles like Fallout 3 (though it finally did after 9 months of waiting.)

You can flip it around somewhat, but, Sony has made the bluray drive a major selling point, and marketed it as a media box, which causes things to get screwy, and leads to precicly the arguments you were talking about. Maybe "the bluray disk format allows for larger game data files, which in turn allows for better graphics, and more game content." But that strikes me as a weak argument. The other one that might be legitimate is "the cell system processor offers more processing power than the 360's CPU." Which is true, but the trade off is it ends up being a ***** to port to. It doesn't help that their library's exclusives kind of lack a killer ap franchise like Halo or Gears of War. I've seen Resistance, Killzone and Imfamous touted as such, but somehow I kinda doubt they really hit that quality. The Uncharted series might be the begining of one though. Then there's the ability to use a mouse I mentioned earlier, which honestly is the closest to being tempted I've gotten.

EDIT: not a strictly rediculous argument, but it drives me up the wall every time I hear it. "Titan Quest? Wasn't that that buggy game that kept crashing?" or "I heard it terrible, buggy as hell" It drives me up the fucking wall because the word of mouth started with a poorly cracked pirate version that broke the street date, and would crash whenever the game did an internal security check.

Sonic Fans: This has got to stop. Why do some people call him 'Eggman' anyway? WHY? How does this even exist? The man uses robots so why not keep his original title of Dr. Robotnik? This is the question one side asks while the other side refuses to keep the name and opts for 'Eggman.' It was funny at first, but now its annoying. Can't we just pick a name for this villain and keep it? Why not argue about ways you can save your favorite Blue Hedgehog franchise from going the way of Old Yeller (which is increasingly preferred amongst the majority of gamers).

Anyway, lets hear them.
As far as I can remember, Robotnik has been his Western name and Eggman was his Eastern name. Robotnik I always considered to be canon due to the Sonic comics showing Sonic's 'creation', at the hands of Doctor Kintobor, [get it?]whom after another of his science experiments go wrong is transformed into the evil and twisted Doctor Robotnik. But since they tried to re-invent Sonic with Sonic Adventure, they changed his name over here to Eggman as well.

Me and my dad both think that he should still be Robotnik, but hey, ain't nothing we can do to change it, besides its a dead franchise now anyway, congratulations Sega!

I personally don't consider it ridiculous, but I've been arguing a lot with my friends over the point of releasing the same Sport game every year with the major new feature being that all the team transfers have been taken into consideration and the kits have been updated with the new sponsor, something which I personally beleive should be DLC.

There's no denying that PC gaming is more expensive and more of a pain in the ass. The actual games are generally of a higher quality but configuration/compatibility issues can be annoying and they do not exist at all on consoles.

And I find easy to believe that a fuckin contard would strugle with installing a game onto a hard drive unless it had a big red 'press butan to install!!!' on the rig somewhere.

To contribute, the people that argue that you will ever make a decent FPS using any other control system than keyboard/mouse have the most ridculous argument.
The thing is it's not really more expensive. The hardware itself costs a bit more, but unless you're the sort of gamer who has to run everything on highest settings, you can make a budget custom build last years. Medium settings on a PC is is the equivalent of a console game graphically. Then you take into account the games are cheaper, and there's loads of free ones (no not piracy) that argument is kinda flawed.

I despise the argument that you can't be a hardcore gamer if you don't play constantly and therefore must be a casual gamer into things like cooking mama. I love my final fantasy, zelda, resident evil *list goes on* but I don't have time to play them all the time and sometimes a quick game is all I want (hence why I love Brawl). Excuse me for doing things besides video games.
I think being passionate enough about gaming to post on these forums pretty much cancels out any chance of you being a casual gamer.
Why, thank you ^_^

probably my brother saying "nah, ill beat so badly" whenever he balls himself together to play any game with me. it usually ends with him:

1. crying because "its unfair".
2. i can only use this and that, because else "its unfair".
3. him ragequitting, shutting off the wii and going back to CS.

he has an IQ under 6, im pretty sure of that.

This one is in reference to the Borderlands DLC. "What a rip off. I can spend 800 points on an arcade game and get 200 achievement points. The DLC only gives me 125 points." When Iread that a part of me died.

I have to say, I think arguments that consoles just work are fairly strong. Yes, a 360 can get the RROD, but unless that happens, you can count on it to do what you expect it to do. You don't have to worry about drivers, or system requirements, or wonder why the hell a game keeps crashing, or wonder which of the 40 processes running might be slowing it down. You rarely have to install anything, rarely have to worry if you have space on your hard drive, and if a patch comes out for a game it will be downloaded for you, provided you're online. Also, while consoles can get viruses, they rarely if ever do. Even if they don't "just work", they do tend to work more often than PCs.

That's not really a good argument anymore. I don't know about pricing in other countries, but you can get a new PS3 in the US for $300, which is only $50 more than a 360 with a HDD. That's less than the price of a new console game.

I actually don't see a problem with this. If someone loves achievements that much, well... whatever. Different people get different things out of games.

When I was in second grade a kid tried to convince me Sonic was a better character than Mario because he was, and I quote, "in your face".

You kids think you know what a console war is like? You don't know nothin'. You've never seen what blast processing can do to a person.

Every console vs console debate ever, including PC vs console.

C'mon guys. I'm a vet from the "Sega Genesis vs. Super Nintendo" war. Have we really not thought up any new approaches to bashing each other's preferences in the last decade or two?
Right back at ya , I remember the C64 vs Spectrum days(actually there's a few retro forums where that fire's still burning),nothings really changed .

I had to sit through a boring ass, 40 minute long, conversation/arguement between my husband and friend about the differences, pros, and cons between the Xbox and Xbox360 controllers. So dumb and boring, it made me want to throw myself out of car.

I think this is pretty stupid: "That game sucks because it's old and it has crappy graphics"
