As far as Zelda games go at least, Majora's Mask is quite underrated. It's a creative, innovative game with an incredible setting, atmosphere and narrative, yet it happened to come out when the majority of gamers just wanted "Ocarina of Time 2: More Ocarina of Time."

I admit that I wasn't too wild about the game when it first came out. I was 10 at the time and honestly the three-day schedule just kind of felt overwhelming. But each time I've revisited it I've enjoyed it more and more.

The storyline was absolutely terrible but I still don't believe there has been any game before or since that has handled having psychic abilities as well as this one did. Not just the abilities themselves but the controls and uses for them.
Second Sight handled the psychic abilities pretty well and had a good story to top it off

solid TBS system that deserved more than a spot on the gog website.I wish they made it into a big TBS like Heroes / Disciples / King's Bounty.

Amen, I had so much fun with this game just tossing people around. The storyline wasn't THAT bad but seeing as how the company went under and left us with a cliffhanger I guess I see where you're comming from....I'm still waiting for Gearbox to finish it. Speaking of which what is the new vaporware joke? Back on topic, some of the characters were so cool, like the mind puppet guy.

I tried Second Sight but I found the controls to be extremely irritating and the powers weren't quite as fun.

The story definitely seemed better though.

Armored Core: For Answer

Sure, the controls are downright INSANE at times (it is so far the only game I've played where I need to use my index and middle fingers along with my thumbs at the same time), but being able to charge into a fight with dual "machine guns" and back mounted grenade launchers (which, considering the size of these weapons, are closer to giant high speed bomb launchers) at 1500 KPH, against a 1000 meter tall walking fortress?

I like. Core on Core fights though can be, um... frustrating unless you have the "spreadzooka"
I'll have to agree with that.

AC4 was OK, but For Answer was in a completely different league. Despite a steep learning curve and some complex controls, it's extremely fun. The customization is insane (but fairly easy to use once you get used to it), and the missions are varied and interesting. The branching paths and endings are all very well done, and ensure that you'll be playing through it a few times to get access to every mission.

The only thing that I disliked about the game was the sheer inhuman tenacity of the AI. The White Glint fight in particular can be insipidly difficult because the enemy dodges constantly and has super-human aiming and maneuvering. Whenever you are called upon to fight a NEXT (or 5 at once in the Chaotic Evil ending) the difficulty goes through the roof...

Klonoa: Door to Phantomile -- I personally enjoyed this surreal universe, but the end was just devastating. Good thing there's a sequel I need to get!

Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee -- A true masterpiece in side-scrolling gaming, but DAMN it's challenging. A great buy, though.

Jet Moto -- A great racing title, and the soundtrack is so amazing, I swear it was composed by Joe Satriani.

XIII -- I loved the comic book atmosphere, and the graphics were amazing as well. Just wished it didn't have a horrible ending like it did.

In all seriousness, I would go with Metro 2033. A couple of good reviews, most said it was shit. Played it for myself and loved it to bits.

Battle Engine Aquila for the xbox

Some of the missions truly made me fill I was partaking in a huge battle, without the need of high class graphics.

Fair enough.I never played Psi-ops so I don't know how they compare but I didn't have any problems with the controls in SS

Way of the Samurai.

The story is classic corny samurai flick, but I loved the game for how it branched based on decisions, either reunite the warring clans, take sides, work with the government or be a lone sort of 'ronin' through the whole story (VERY short campaign, though) On top of that, a bevy of different swords, styles and moves to learn. I grew up watching old samurai movies like Lone Wolf and Cub or Seven Samurai- so I fucking loved that game.

I never played the sequel, though I heard there was some kind of added mechanic where police or militia would pursue you like cops in GTA- didn't sound as fun as basically kill warring samurai clans without much reprisal in the first one.
I've managed to play all three of them and I have to agree. The games are essentially Choose-Your-Own-Adventure books in the form of a game. Apparently the series is a bit like the Yakuza franchise in terms of popularity. The fourth game in the series will be coming out in Japan soon, but in the US the games are almost completely unknown (aside from a cult following).

The sword combat is nuanced and complex, and the story has more paths and branches than any other game I've seen (the third game has 22 endings not including the secret ending where you kill every NPC in the game). The series has kind of a odd sense of humor, but they really aren't meant to be taken seriously. It's quirky, fun, and gives the player more freedom than any other series on the market.

Kane and Lynch: Dead Men... It's one of my favorite 3rd person shooters ever. Dark Sector is also underrated. It's also a 3rd person shooter.
Play them both!

Well, my most underrated game definitely got the hype, but somehow people didn't find it as incredible as I did.

Halo 2.

I still stand by my belief that this was the best multiplayer game of all-time.

Alpha Protocol, hands down. 4 playthroughs, no boredom, each time discovering something different. I just love, love, LOVE the way they handled the choice system as well as respect/disrespect system.

Alpha Protocol

I thought that was a pretty good game.
Play Mass Effect2, you will take that statement back
I played ME. I had fun. I played ME 2. I had more fun. I tried to play them both again, but I got bored each time, because even after trying with different alignment, the game was completely the same, except for some dialogs and actions, that didn't really mean anything in the long run (the ultimate letdown was the fact, that the new council, after I let the old one die at the end of ME1, turned out to be just as unhelpful as the old one, and again NOTHING changed in the story. What a BS). I'll just keep my save, play ME3 once, probably have fun, and never play the series again.

Alpha Protocol on the other hand, is a game, you can beat multiple times, it will always be different in one way or another, and you really feel that you are shaping the story. That's the thing I'm looking for in RPG's, and that's why I liked AP more than ME2. Both are great games IMO, but AP wins thanks to replayability, which ME2 lacks.

Metal Arms: Glitch in the system.

The game was a typical shooter, yes, but it was absolutely smashed by the ratings, in a way it didn't deserve. Sure the plot was strange, but the game play was fantastic. Playing as a little robot, taking control of bigger robots, and a gun that shoots little saws that disable your target's arms without killing them, making their arms point at the ground only and shoot downward, and spin around awkwardly as they ran was one of the most fun things I'd done in a video game up till that point. Its a shame the game didn't see the light it deserved.
