His teachings and the school of economics he comes from have almost hands down always been correct on the trends of economies. They predict a crash it happens. He saw that the state would always ignore the laissez faire approach for the statist approach even though that would infringe upon people's natural rights so he said lets do away with state for laissez faire and people's rights.

Thomas Jefferson is surprisingly underrated though, even though in the later years of his presidency he made some insanely stupid decisions.

Was venerated by the Nazis and still today often comes up in conversations as "sure they were a horrible bunch, but you have to admire Rommel's military genius". And he's about the only Nazi that we continued naming things and streets after.

Alan Mathison Turing

His work is taught in every first year of computer science at universities world-wide, there's the Turing Award and 2012 will be the Turing Year.

Oscar Schindler, the industrialist that saved over 1000 Jews from the Nazis using his own money to bribe soldiers.

He invented the lightning cannon. The frikkin lightning cannon. Someone even put it to use making MUSIC! Ghost busters with a lightning cannon. If only it had tits and was on fire. This guy didnt invent modern electricity, he bent that raw power to his will! Theres a picture of him sitting insulated in a room reading a book while a collosal tesla coil shoots huge bolts of lightning at the walls. Thats hardcore.

Osamu Tezuka. He's the God of manga, and no one else has created so much manga that's still so good, and yet any manga fans I meet have never read anything of his.

What manga has he created?

OT: I do not have much idea, except all of the teachers of the Conservatory of Chihuahua. They deserve to be on history. Particularly Liparit Terzyan and Ahmed Anzaldua.

He was the guy who wrote Astro Boy, which is often considered the "Original" manga. But all the standard Anime qualities (like Big eyes, and reality bending hair) were started by him.

It's not a person who really did anything in their life, but I think Marie Antoinette gets more crap than she deserves. The whole "Let them eat cake" thing was a blatant lie created by an angry France. That was more of Louis' fault for the poor conditions. Sure she was probably too immature to handle running a country, but she didn't have much of a say in anything.

I just don't think it's fair that she was (and still is) the poster child for spoiled incompetence in 18th century France.

I love that guy! He's awesome. Best character in Heroes, hands down. That's where I learned his face, and his name, and then I started recognizing him in everything.

Oh, and Stalin. He killed more Jews than Hitler, but he isn't the one who is famous for it, because he was an ally in WW2, and everyone turned a blind eye to the purges.
