The final boss in Dead or Alive 4! She can do a combo that you can't counter or evade once you are hit that takes 70% of your health. She can teleport anywhere in the level at any given time, including while you are hitting her with your own combo. She can be really ridiculous when she counters your attacks. And the cherry on top of this "Fuck-you" sundae is: by beating her you unlock *drum roll please*.... a new costume. Just ONE new costume, so to unlock the whole set for ONE character you have to beat her again, and again, and again, and then two more times. Once you do that, you have to turn up the difficulty to unlock more costumes. Also, you can only get costumes for the character that you use to beat her, so getting everybody's costume set requires beating this monstrosity around 50 times.

Even though I can't stand the game or the series now, for me it was MW2 Spec ops on veteran, the mission with all the juggernauts on the oil rig, took me and a friend about 40 tries to actually beat them all because most times we tried to flank one and suddenly there were 8 blasting the hell out of us.

Also the first time I played FF8 I had every party member to at least level 80 and then remembered about the lamp... First ever rage quit

The final boss in Prototype was bullshit and chips. Especially since there's a goddamn achievement for beating the whole game on hard without dying once. Anyone who did that without save scumming is a god among men. Just saying.

In Spiderman 2 the game, when you find mysterio robbing a small store, and its clearly going to be a boss fight, but the store is a tiny tiny place so there is nowhere to run, and then his health bar appears, which is massive, and you just think CRRRRRAAAPPPPPP. All the while he is taunting you.

Then I went to fight him and he went down in one punch. And I laughed for about 5 minutes. Turned out it was a dud fight because he was a joke character in it. Brilliant.

ArmA II Operation Arrowhead Armory gamemode sometimes throws literally impossible fights. For those you don't know, Armory is a gamemode where you can test out all the weapons/vehicles/characters. You can do differend kind of challenges with these items for point, what you use to unlock more equipment.

So anyway, the game decided to give me a SCAR assault rifle. I was given a mission to defend a camp site from enemy attackers. Sounds easy. Well, I spawn at the camp and go search for different weapons. Didn't find any...Oh well, I guess I'll do fine with this gun. Then I saw it.... the first enemy. He had a T-72. Yes. I was supposed to destroy a tank with an assault rifle..... -_-

Usually it doesn't do stuff like that, but when it does... The rage is massive

Crawmerax the invicible from borderlands. Only had two people doing it. Makes me sad.
didn't you use the glitch where if you stand on the edges of the cliff, he cant hit you at all, I did it with Lilith on my own using her phase walk and those cliffs, also, I remember cheating and getting a shotgun that did something ridiculous like 192834 damage x17 per shot, Crawmerax just melted before that shotgun, also there is a bit in the files (in the PC version) that makes you invincible, just seeing Such an annoying enemy just die so easily is so much fun.

I'm not sure how well it's stood up over the years but the very end boss of Jet Force Gemini, the one after you find all those panda things. I remember him being the hardest boss/enemy I've ever played against.

The Harvester from the Dragon Age Origins DLC 'The Golems of Amgarrak' on Hard difficulty with any character below level 30 (which you need Awakening to unlock).

Nah, I don't like using glitches. I wanted to earn the rewards you know?

I'm going to go waaaay back to when I was about 10 for the fight that has frustrated me the most - Spyro the Dragon: Year of the Dragon, and that goddamned yeti boxing match...

It was only a minigame; wouldn't actually hamper progress unless you were going for 100% (and why shouldn't you be, frankly?) Simple yeti boxing match.

The fighting system was so broken it took a great deal of patience and retries to actually lay that bastard out.

Elsewhere, the most one-sided fight I ever experienced was anything my first character in KotOR went up against. With copious amounts of grenades, a double-ended lightsaber, lots of stimms and a force power unironically named 'Kill,' the chap was unstoppable. Even those two monsters mentioned earlier in this thread weren't too much of a problem.

This one bit in Saints Row 2 comes to mind, I think it was 'Salting The Earth... Again.' Once on the yatch, killing everyone's a piece of piss but, naturally, the journey is half the struggle. I don't feel that a shitty - and conspicuously unarmed - jet ski was fair compensation for the attack chopper with the missile-happy pilot that was on my arse the entire way there. There is literally no tactic to that part of the game, it's luck that gets your crap-mobile to the boat... eventually.

Well, thats what happened. If you stay on any floor at any level for over ten minutes or if you kill too many golden shadows (you may not have seen those yet, or at least not many), He'll come after you too.
There was one floor with heaps of gold shadows. After killing a lot of then, Mitsuru told me she felt the presence of death. I got out of the quick. Does he also appear when you choose cards that have a skull and crossbone symbol? BTW, im up to the second barricade.

When I was growing up, it was the Dark Link fight in the Water Temple of Ocarina of Time. I'd be able to get about three or so good hits in before it turned merciless. This was before I learned the Megaton Hammer or Din's Fire trick, so I was trying to cold turkey it for five hours plus.

I remembered thinking "there's no way this is me, I'm not that skilled! And this is only the miniboss!" Also, the first time I discovered he can jump on your sword was the most "Are you kidding me?!" moment of my life.

And of course, Giygas. Only because it is impossible to beat him normally without praying. Your attacks don't mean a thing.
