Oh yes that guy... I know what you mean. He was the reason I just couldn't finish Evangelion.
I disagree. He was human; that's what I like about him.
I disagree with that statement, by 14-15 he should have been able to be adjusted to his trauma and gotten over it at least to a point where he could function as a normal person.

I have never hated an anime character as much, it absolutely ruined NGE for me.

Nothing in anime comes close to the contempt I have for Denise Richards character in Starship Troopers.

People adjust better from trauma in an environment where they are supported (within reason). Shinji has none of that. In both the Manga and the Anime his home life was something that was NOT in anyway helping him to emotionally heal. Throw puberty into the mix and son, you got yourself a recipe for disaster.

That said, this may convince you that Rebuild is worth a look.

As for Starship Troopers, well, after reading the book I can't defend the movie.

Goku from DBZ. The guy has no education, no job, and no interests other than fighting. He's also completely irresponsible; leaving his wife and two children to fend for themselves not once, but twice, once to go train in otherworld, and again to train Uub. And dispite everything, all the other characters consistantly follow his orders and put faith in his hair brained plans.

For example:

- "Let's not interfere while Pikolo, Android 16 and Tien are fighting cell, waiting around here for Vegeta and Trunks to come out is much more important"

- "Let's send the 9 year old to go get the dragon radar even though I can move at the speed of light"

- "Let's give a damaged and fatigued Cell a free sensu bean, I'm sure my 11 year old son will no problem beating him anyway"

- "We won't need sensu beans on Namek, I'll just eat them all on the journey" (Yes I have been watching Team4Star's DBZ Abridged, how did you know?)

- "It'll be fine if I leave the Earth unguarded to hang out with the Yardrat, it's not like Garlic jr. or Freiza could possibly come back. Besides my mortal enemy Vegeta is there, I'm sure he's turned over a new leaf"

- "Gee this instant transmission thing sure is useful, you'd think in the 3 years I spent training for the Androids, as well as the year in the hyperbolic time chamber with Gohan, I'd have shown someone else how to do it. Nevermind, they probably don't need it"

Absolutely everyone in Gantz...
I will not tolerate someone not liking the martial arts vampire, muscle rider or Nishi. You probably watched that damned anime, didn't you?

Well, I just can't stand most of the people in Naruto who are not Akatsuki, Rock Lee or Killerbee. I also have this undying hatred towards Fuu in Samurai Champloo. Whiny *****.
Yeah, I only saw about 8 or 9 episodes of the anime before deciding I hated everyone in it too much to watch any more. Is the manga much better?

Misa from Death Note, or Nanalee from Code Geass. Yes, I'm picking on the crippled, blind child but she is so annoying.
It just doesn't get any truer than this. Those are my two favorite animes, but they also hold two of the most annoying female characters to ever, ever be created. The only character that even comes close was Aporro from Bleach, because he was one disturbed little man....

THIS. I don't understand why more people don't say her because she is the character I hate the most. There is no one more annoying than Nina or Mina or whatever her name is. It gets worse because she appears more in R2 also, which really pissed me off.

I know its been said... A LOT... but anyway, Sasuke.

Goku, never liked him. Overpowered douche, maybe if everyone else got the specialist training he always received Goku wouldnt be left to do everything.

Ichigo is a pain in the arse too, another person who is overpowered.

Usopp gets a bit annoying at times and I found Tony Tony Choppers voice annoying to start with until I realized he is just a child then it made sense.

I mean come on, can you stay mad at this:

yuske (as i mess up his name) from yu yu hakashow. i know he is the main character in the show, but he just acts like an arrogant prick most of the time.

Oh my, there are so many to choose from that I genuinely wish to get dipped in paintthinner and dissolved forever. I just can't decide.

Have to say that I agree with this one. Given all of the problems that everyone else had in their lives, her complaints made her sound like some whiny little kid. Actually, were the ending in the manga any less touching, I'd have written off the manga as continuing a series that didn't need to be continued.

Manta from Shaman King, I would say if I got to change my mind. I'm not saying I hate him, I just can't see what anybody would like about the guy. He's hysterical a lot of the time, and although I don't really dislike him, I can't see what there is to like either.

sakura, naruto and susuke, i rarely see characters written with such transparency, such incompetence such blandness. How is it even possible to write such two-dimensional, predictable characters. These characters never develope or given any depth.

These three

I enjoyed the side-main characters (Sango, Miroku, Sessomouro, Etc.) but this whole stupid love triangle thing annoys the hell out of me.

Edit: (It's spelled Sesshomaru, MajorKris) "Shut up, you grammar Nazi."

Never given any depth? They are given considerable depth. Well, perhaps not Sakura, but Naruto is a pretty deep and three-dimensional character. And while I agree with your choosing Sasuke, I disagree with your motivation. He, too, is deep and develops.
