The silenced pistol from FarCry2.
It was somewhat accurate and had a fair amount of power for your first pistol with a silencer strapped on but THE SILENCER DIDN'T DO SQUAT. You would fire it and suddenly every one in a 30 mile radius knows where you are. ok so maybe that's more of a game gripe but whatever.

My other one was the Tau Cannon on the Buggy from HL2, because you never really used it because all enemys that showed up in that level either could be run over or needed a rocket to take out. every thing else could just be ignored. and why use some weird Tesla cannon design when you have heli cannons sitting about.

Mortars and cluster bombs in the worms games.
There's something not quite right about seeing a mortar used by the army on tv being waaaay powerful and having that transferred over to the worst weapon on a video game

The Flamethrower in Metroid Prime. UTTERLY. USELESS.

I defy you to give me one situation in that game where the flamethrower was actually practical to use.

Uhh no. It's just unsatisfactory when you fire it. I want my guns to sound like they pack a punch.
I was referencing the trope, a rifle like that would probably sound similar in real life. So, nevermind.
Oh. Well now I just feel like a jerk. Sorry dude.

Half-Life 2's pistol. It's just miserable.
Well that's it point, it's just a weak little enforcement weapon, not military issue. For me that makes it especially satisfying to kill something with, especially strong enemies, because it's to weak and you still win. It's not badass to win with an extremely massive gun, it's badass to win with a simple pistol, it say "Here I am, under-armed, and I still kicked your ass." That's the stuff.

That's why for me, the most unsatisfactory weapon is the strongest one, it takes all the fun out of humiliating enemies.

The G3 from CoD4. I was used to having semi autos kill in two quick hits from CoD2. When this gun took at least three, it caused me to die so much. On instinct, I would go BAM BAM and run looking for another guy. Well that guy isn't dead and he is mad at you.
The G3 is an awesome gun.. 2 hit kill in normal modes, 1 hit kill on hardcore.

the shotguns from COD4 just becuase that the bullets magically disappear after like 10 feet
And there's so much smoke when you shoot them you can't see ten feet in front of you.

OP:I never feel right when I use the plasma pistol in Halo, it's a pea-shooter compared to the other weapons.

The normal pistol from Half Life 2, it just didn't have enough "umpf" behind it.
are you joking? the normal pistol from Hl2 is the best weapon in the game. you just have to click REALLY FAST....
the revolver goes BOOM.... BOOM... BOOM... BOOM
the pistol goes powpowpowpowpowpowpowpowpowpowpowpow
you have to make the sound effects or it isn't as fun
That, and I found it really helps if you shoot them in the face. Only take powpowpow. Maby one more pow.

But alost endless ammo for the thing.

The Lava/Meteor gun in Ratchet and Clank 2 - It starts off as a Lava Gun which lets you have lots of fun spraying hot sticky death over everything in sight, And then when it upgrades, it suddenly becomes a terrible, low range meteor gun that flings low-damage meteors. At least they got it right in RAC3 - It becomes better and better lava, then when it maxes out, it suddenly becomes the polar opposite of lava - Liquid Nitrogen. Still behaves in the same way, but does far more damage and freezes stuff. Nice.
Yes to all points

Pretty much every gun in Dead Space except the line cutter.
Really? I really hated the line cutter, could never get the grenade/mine thing to work well.

I'd say everything was unsatisfactory except the buzz saw thingy and the Plasma Cutter

Although not [i/]technically[/i] a weapon, Thanatos in Persona 3 (although badass) was shitty as far as actual combat. Which sucks because you wait 3/4 of the game just to use him.
Can't have been worse than Izanagi no Ohkami >_>
But in both cases you at least knew how bad they were beforehand, so you normally didn't bother with them.

It depends on the context.
It's just not much when compared to exploding, flying sheep or almighty bananas.

Anyway:
- Every single weapon from Silent Hill Homecoming other than the Combat Knife.
When I only had the puny knife, I felt insecure cause it's such a weak weapon. When I got other weapons and switched, I felt insecure cause they were too ****ing slow. In fact most can easily get you killed as enemies hit you fast enough to interrupt every single of your attacks unless you use the Combat Knife. And guns are beyond worthless. I had 8 shotgun rounds deflected by a Needler without doing any damage.

- Zanba in PSO. It's one of the most highly regarded weapons do to it's special that does double damage. But when I finally had one I couldn't hit **** due to the low as hell accuracy (not even particularly low, but enemies have obscene evasion). Even worse: the special has much lower accuracy than normal attacks, making it quite useless.

The first three weapons from HL2 (crowbar, pistol, and SMG). They made noises that sounded kinda like a gun going off, did very little damage, and had no punch. The guys you shoot at don't even flinch.
I agree with you on the pistol But the smg got more useful later when u needed its secondary fire, and seriously, never insult the crowbar. What makes Gordon Gordon? The answer is the crowbar.
Sure, the crowbar may be iconic, but that doesn't make it suck any less ass.

The .32 pistol from F3.

It's so weedy and useless.
I thought so too. Then I got Point Lookout and found the toy knife.

Still I'd rather play through the whole game with the .32 pistol and toy knife than have to kill 200 pigeons and fly that supercrappy attack chopper from gta4. It looks like they're fixing that with dlc but it'll cost you $20 and it's only on the 360; not even the pc.

The Magnum from Half-Life 2. I'm super, super stingy with my bullets, especially with stronger-than-average weapons, so even though my aim was usually decent enough to score a headshot on my target, I almost never used it. The ammo for it was so scarce, I was convinced that I needed to conserve the ammo for later use.

So I guess the weapon itself wasn't all that unsatisfactory, but the fact that you couldn't use it much was.
All of the guns in Half Life 2 are shit, every single gun in there is an advertisement for the Gravity Gun. There are some really fucked up design choices in there as well, like the way you can only carry two rockets, the only time it's worth using rockets is on gunships and striders, and when you're fighting a gunship or strider there are always infinite rockets available.

The Klobb from Goldeneye 64; utter poo. It was inaccurate and would do more damage if you threw it at them.
Double Klobbs were pretty effective. The trick is to just run up on your enemy (because they hesitate before shooting virtually every time).

Also, the Rotton Eggs from RE5...made just for the achievement.

Long Toms in Mechwarrior 4. The manual said that the recoil from one was enough to make a large mech step back, but I couldn't get a comic response from firing one out of a ****ing RAVEN.

<.<

Made an ass of myself in front of a good family friend with that. Should have tested it first, obviously.
I could say that same for the artillery beacon.

Jesus Christ dude, you don't need to make so many threads just to get a few opinions out. Plus, use the search bar.

The bolts from S.T.A.L.K.E.R. win most unsatisfactory weapon, because they could be thrown but they did nothing.
Or the pistol your given at the start of both games the bullets are afraid of people

I gotta say the Assault Rifle in Halo 3. Yeah yeah I know it's a fine weapon, but it sounds like a angry staple gun. I want a BANG when I fire
Reality is unrealistic?

I've got to say the pistol from Halo 2.
Reality?
Its a crap gun, barely useful for anything other than "Suicide Pacts" in multiplayer.
