The plasma pistol in halo3.
When grunts used it, it was an unstopable device of alien power.
When you used it you were better off using a skull.

Those "X-Attack" etc things in Pokemon. Against normal trainers normally bashing them a few times with anything will take them out, by the time you crack out one of these things you could have had it over with.

They MIGHT have been useful online, but you can't use items online so yeah. And with the Elite 4, either you don't need them, or by the time you use them you're already dead.

Don't know whether anyone else used the X items or not, but I never have.

The plasma pistol/magnum combo is quite useful against brutes, pop their power armour with a charged shot form the plasma pistol and finish with a precision headshot . Works great on legendary.

Hacking in Bioshock.

Seriously it was an annoying minigame, and the only time I did it is when the game forced me to. I prefer to kill things myself anyway, then to have a hoovering turret somewhere near me, especially considering I have to attack the thing that I want the turret to attack anyway, I might as well finish it off too.

The shield in Prototype.

Really, how many people actually used this thing? It blocks your vision, only works from the front, and doesn't take much damage before being destroyed. It's much easier to just jump over most attacks then to block them with the damn shield.
I used hacking quite a lot since I kind of enjoyed the minigame. And I used the shield but only when I was running from point A to point B since it was real helpful for barging through cars and...people. By shield you do mean the big rock thing at the front right?

For me its in Bioshock 2 I never use the pistol. I can't stand it and really never end up using.

Lastly, in Burnout Paradise anything except Stunt Cars. I don't know about you guys but I love Stunt Cars and couldn't stand using anything except that (oh and the Police Hunter car thing...that was cool).

I used it to solo the elite gorilla in the southern island of stranglethorn valley, when my hunter was around 49 back in the day.

I would never use felhunter on warlock.

Deus Ex: Invisible War

Binoculars - just as easily done with a sniper rifle - plus it has a "Pewpew stuff falls down" feature. Very handy.

Really?
See I don't own an xbox I've just played a lot on a friends.
I thought they made that combo less effective after halo 2.
I'll try it though

Money, in the mercenaries games. Partly due to the effect I think Yahtzee mentioned in the world in flames review, where you don't want to spend your cash to kill a powerful enemy in case there's an even bigger one around the corner.

Also because I'm a perfectionist, and airstrikes usually kill the face card. By the time you order something and that eejit in the chopper gets to you, you could have used a sniper rifle to massacre everyone within a square mile.

In all my playthroughs of Fallout 3, I do not know that I used Rad-X more than a handful of times. In fact, most of the non stimpack chems went unused for me.
I agree with the Rad-X, it's nearly useless apart from that irradiated weapon store. RadAway was useful, though, and I got addicted to Buffout so many times I lost count.

Silencers, in most games it seems like silencers are little more that barrel extensions that ruin damage output and generally tend to be useless

There are few exceptions thought like Call of Duty MP where a silencer can keep you off the mini-map

Did anyone really use the 10mm pistol in Fallout 3 at all after getting another weapon? Compared to most other guns, it's a pea shooter.
Not when I realised the ammo was so prevalent for all other guns. I agree

OT: Customisable controls. Come on. let me play how I wanna play. It's not hard to program.

Any non-stim chems in FO3. Apart from this one time, where I just chugged everything down, then went on a rampage with spiked knuckles.
Biogun in the UT series, Scorpion's main gun in UT2k4.

Biodorf in pokemon, because it is lame
Pistols in any FPS that isn't Halo:CE

That's about all I can think of, I always use what I'm given, or I sell it to buy better stuff
