Not sure if this counts, but I am reminded of Final Fantasy 2 where there are countless hours of the game building the 'Ultima' spell up to be the ultimate destructive life purging spell of doom, and when you obtain it it does the same amount of damage as an ordinary Melee attack. Biggest waste of time ever.

I really despise the Hammer of Dawn in Gears of War solely because with the exception of a few points you really don't need it and it takes to long to charge up and theres so many disadvantages... I died so many times in Gears of War games just trying to aim the sights because I have to duck out of cover to do so and I get shot to pieces. Besides in single player it demands I part with my Longshot and frankly my true love and I shall never part ways.
Ah, yes. T'is always a tough decision whether or not to part with thine holy Longshot.

Come to think of it, I have a hard time passing up a lot of weapons in Gears. I never part with the Lancer (Since Gears 2, it's just become far too useful), my Shotgun is a faithful and reliable friend, my Sticky Grenades just work far better than the Inks and Smokes, and I just love the execution animation with the Boltok.

On the other hand, I'm never reluctant to give up the Hammerhead rifle.

Fallout 3's Fatman.
Sure, it was fun breaking it out every now and then and nuking something into radioactive oblivion, but most of the time it just sat in my house and looked pretty.
Too heavy, too much splash damage, and too little ammo to be of any real use to me.

The demon armours in TES:4
The weigh like 50 pounds a piece so you can only carrly like a full set at a time and one weapon.
Not worth it.

almost anything daedric in TES:3

I mean seriously, just wearing full daedric armour without maxed strength left little space for anything to do the god-damn killing.

The rocket launcher is also pretty useless in any halo game.
Noticing a pattern here yet? Bethesda seem incapable of making any of their game's "best" equipment any more than just heavy.

the smg in L4D. the bloody thing has barely any extra ammo and uses what it has in 2 minutes.

oh, and The Emperors Blessing in Dawn of War: Soulstorm. i spent over 10 hours playing as the Sisters of Battle to get that thing (you need all other wargear), and it does nothing but tickle nearby enemies´ health away.

the alien minigun thing from Crysis

screw that thing, just give me my gauss rifle!
You mean the ice-rifle? the weapon that had infinate ammo?

Not that bad, though the gauss rifle is pretty cool.
How the hell did you overheat something that fires ice shards?

The gun you get to use to defeat that huge alien in Crysis(forgot the name). You only get to use it once and fire it only a couple of times.
The Nuke gun you used agaisnt the alien ship? That's what it was supposed to be for. It wasn't supposed to be for anything else.
The Tac-Cannon, was cool, if useless. Infinite ammo and you can only fire it 3 times. Personally I carried the SCAR from the very beginning to the mine where they take all your guns, I used it as a sniper rifle since you couldn't silence the precision rifle or the gauss rifle.

OT: Going to go with the crowd and say the Zodiac in Ratchet and Clank 2, way too expensive to use against small enemies which was all it was good against.

About daedric armour in TES though, it was fairly useless in Morrowind since it was so heavy but it became a lot better in Oblivion where you could make it weightless while equipped by maxing Heavy Armour skill, although if you maxed Light Armour glass armour was just as good, and cheaper.

I played through GTAIV, San Andreas and Saints Row 2 using my pistol mostly? I don't see the point in an automatic weapon when I can pick headshots with a pistol. Not to mention, most of the games armed NPC's were carrying them, so loads of ammo.

Beth makes armours and weapons that looks like "ZomG¨Übah-Weepoon" useless. Like the Hellfire Enclave armour. There wore better unique armours. The Über weapons in TES 4 wore worn by everyday thugs, the Daedric armour wore equiped by ever bandit ingame from level 20+. You needed to find small hidden places of large dungeons to get the real Über weapons.

I don't know if this counts as a Uber-Weapon but the new Heavy Machinegun that looks like a SAW in GTAIV: TBOGT holds lots of ammo and is praised up and down by people who play the game, but I think it's worhtless, it takes a whole clip and then some to blow up any car and and its very inaccurate even while aiming but I think the new FN P90 is perfect!

-hugs a airsoft FN P90-

Perfect! PERFECT!!!

LIES. You could bash people real good with that thing. T'was satisfying to crunch their face with a big metal tube.

OT: Guh.. I don't usually get far enough into games to get the Uber Gun.
I'll give you a cool but crap one though. The chinese pistol in Fallout 3 sounded, and looked pretty good. I can't understand why it was implemented into the game however. You had better chance throwing sand at your enemy.
YOU LIE. The rocket launchers melee attack was slower then a snail stuck in molasses in January in Alaska, rendering it completely useless when facing anything more than the broken door on the Autumn.

I also just used a planet buster in spore, really isn't that useful when you have the entire galaxy declaring war on you.
To make it worse, my last save was 4 to 5 hours ago.

:(
...

YOU LIE MORE.

It was still satisfying..

Liar.
