Hmmm? What do you mean?mireko said:[sub]There are more of her, but they're never leaving Japan.[/sub]
By that, logic, the extinction of the human race would serve the planet more then we ever could in life. No more pollution, no more threat of nuclear war, no more mass murder, Earth would probably be better off. But we're never anxious to do "What needs to be done" when we're the sacrificed minorityKingGolem said:Maybe we're looking at this the wrong way. Maybe suicide is a good thing for the rest of us, eh? Those persons of the temperament and emotional distress sufficient to kill themselves will be removed from our society, and if they take their kids with them then the state doesn't have to worry about what to do with the orphans.
I've lost several family members and pets, though none through suicide. Mostly through long, drawn out medical issues. It did not, and does not bother me any more than some random guy in Illinois dying of a heart attack, of Mitzy the Shih-tzu getting hit by a car (Then again, I'm behind that one. I dislike Shih-Tzus nearly as much as I hate Chihuahuas. Fucking kickdogs.), or any of the missing and dead in any natural or man-made disaster that occurs.Furburt said:I know your type. Frankly, it doesn't matter if what you said was merely trying to impress people or actually reflective of your beliefs (which would be actually substantially more disturbing). What matters is that you said it, and that what you said falls into the same pattern I see of emotionally stunted, weird comments that fail to recognize the true value of human existence. Try losing someone close to you through suicide, and then tell me it's a good thing for society.KingGolem said:I resent that accusation. No, I don't know you. And I never want to.
It's a reference to the video game series "Mother", of which only one game was ever localized (Earthbound). The joke is in somewhat poor taste, so I put it in small text.Soviet Heavy said:Hmmm? What do you mean?mireko said:[sub]There are more of her, but they're never leaving Japan.[/sub]

Ah, I see. Yeah, that was a little in poor taste, but whatever, I won't hold it against you.mireko said:It's a reference to the video game series "Mother", of which only one game was ever localized (Earthbound). Haven't noticed that I always use small print, but maybe it has become second nature. A better question is why I have this strange tendency to only write sentences that start with "it" or "I", or why I constantly make sentences that go "something something something, but something something".
In any case: I use it as either a note or comment on the post, or as a point that is unconnected to the rest of the post (so people won't get that weird feeling from reading two completely unconnected paragraphs, like this).
Lobsters are nice, I wonder why they have to be so expensive.
Too soon.Patrick_and_the_ricks said:I hate to be that guy but....
OT: At times like this making a license for being a parent seems like the right thing to do...

I don't encourage suicide, and I never will, but if you are going to do it don't take others with you.manaman said:Yes, it sucks, but the only real tragedy here is that she took other lives with her.
Ahahaha, no, that would have been a much more uplifting story than this one.drbarno said:Is it wrong that I saw it as 4Kids (the company) and cheered?
anyway, Glad to see one of the children made it through. it's always a shame whenever someone decide's to commit suicide.
