Let me guess this thread is 50% "I dont want to live on this planet anymore"-esque melodrama from children who say this every goddamn time there's a news story with an unhappy ending.

30% "Lets just kill her and be done with it!" in similar fashion to the above, spouting it every time there's a crime worse than petty theft, forever failing to see the irony of gleefully proposing murder as a solution to injustice.

and the final 20% of people who have actually read the article, read maybe a touch more about the case from a different source for balance, are actually adults with reasonable, rational minds and will either be saying "We don't know enough about the case to judge" or "Surely the livelihood of the child is more important than what arbitrary, blood lust punishment should have been doled out to the mother"

People complaining about double standards are being stupid, 99% of all sexism is directed towards females. There's practically no hate crimes against males, unless it's something else that people are predjudice against, like sexuality or race. If you're a man who complains about sexism towards men, then what the fuck. I don't know of any strait white men who had hate crimes against them :/.

the double standards are when members of different genders or races get lessen or harsher treamnet then someone else would, for there to be true equily everyone must be treated equally, no mater race or gender, or class.

Pedophilia is sexual feelings toward children while child sexual abuse is a form of abuse in which an adult (or older adolescent) physically uses a child for sexual gratification.

It's basically the difference between wanting to kill someone and actually killing them.

In my books, the moment you mix kids + sex, you're way in the red zone already and nothing much matters beyond that very fact. If it's 'just' in theory, I'm very glad to know people go to therapy and take their pills and whatnot, but I still won't trust them one inch.

It's nice to know that you feel that way. Just don't commit the logical fallacy that pedophiles and child molesters are one and the same. Not all pedophiles are child molesters and not all child molesters are pedophiles.
