Lawrence of Arabia.
Hey Lawrence of Arabia is awesome. It does have some rather elongated scenes at times but its still a classic.

Not quite hollywood. A doco about cult low budget Aussie films.

Isn't that based on serial killer Andrei Chikatilo? I think Evilenko was loosely based on the same guy.

The machinist would have been pretty good if i didn't see Fight Club before it.
and unfortunately that's what it gets compared to every time, apples to oranges my friend, might be the same mental instability, but still different premise of move.

This one is definitely obscure to the people I know, and I'm saddened that no one I know has seen Once Upon a Time in the West or any other Sergio Leone western. Its a better genre than people give it credit for.
The good the bad and the ugly??
it was awesome

OT: i dun think ive seen any obscure movies

Italian for Beginners. It is a 2000 film from Scandinavia (Denmark) based on the novel Evening Class. Found it while flipping through one of the Starz channels. Really engrossing, watching these train wrecks of people deal with issues. Powerful, No. Funny, No. It is just so bad you have to keep watching these people fail.

Boo ya, in the process of watching it. I've watched Part I and am saving Part II for a particular rainy day.

I'm guessing not too many people have seen the Canadian made-for-TV movie "Iron Road". It was actually pretty good and even had Peter O'Toole in it.

And all my movies are obscure to my friends. Meh.

i can sure name a couple that nobody have seen, like louis 19(altough, you probably seen the amrican remake of it EDTV, which was pretty much awfull compare to the original movie), nikita (the original french movie), bon cop bad cop, sur le seuil, etc... but they are not english movies, so it's not fair.

but for english movies i would guess Mutant Chronicles, and maybe screamers and of course the incredible melting man !

how dare you ruin the term cult classic by saying that Avatar is such a movie

"Lately, I keep remembering him" it's a really good anime but the only people I know that have seen it, are people that I have shown it to.

I've seen The Orphanage and loved it.

One might be The Host. This completely awesome Korean Monster Movie that is both funny and has great dramatic story.
Agreed - The Host is one of my favorites, everyone should see that. And the Orphanage has one of the most effective scenes involving ghosts that I can remember.

Also I recommend: Let The Right One In (Swedish), A Tale Of Two Sisters (Korean), District 13 (French), and for good measure, just about everything Alfred Hitchcock ever did, cus I imagine many of you youngsters haven't experienced a whole lot of that.

I would go with Phase IV and One Boy And His Dog

I'm sure others have seen them but personally never met anyone who has.

The Serpent and the Rainbow. Voodoo zombies and Bill Pullman. Awesome.
Oh I loved that movie!

OT: The People Under The Stairs.

It's about this black kid living in the Bronx that goes with his brother and his brother's friend to steal from their landowners. That's just the beginning, though. I'm not gonna spoil the rest of the plot.

I've seen many of those :3 My mom and I love Rear Window, mostly because we love Jimmy Stewart. I'm pretty savvy on most of the older movies because I was raised on that sort of thing which might be why I hate with a passion most modern comedy.

Romancing the Stone is a fun little romantic adventureand I don't know how many of you remember "The Great Mouse Detective."

A lot of you probably heard of it, but has anyone else here actually watched Winged Migration in full? its a fucking long documentary about birds.
I watched it one rainy afternoon. Long, but scenic.

Fido (less obscure, but I'm just hoping someone will say "Oh, I've seen that movie!" so I can add them as a friend because if you have you are amazing.)
watched this with my friend. I want Billy Connolly as my pet zombie!

The Last Unicorn.
A classic. I've also read the book. And met the author.

To add to this thread:
Kytice [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0239102/]. a Czech movie beautifully depicting some classic Slovak poems, from a collection named "Kytice". I gre up on these poems, the movie does them real justice. I'm not sure how well it all translates to English though.

Pontypool. watched this recently and I wish I could wrap my head around it.

Shock Treatment. People may have seen the Rocky Horror Picture Show...but I think few have actually managed to sit through the sequel.

Knockround Guys

I think it released the same week as a star Wars or LOTR movie, so it's box office sales were horrible.
