Children of Men really struck a chord with me...

but then again I was pregnant at the time. That might've been it. Still a good movie tho. Just my op.
Congrats on the kid! I would recommend the movie "Up". It being a supposed kids movie it really surprised me. Also Avatar and Shawshank Redemption like almost everyone else has said.

Night of the Comet. I think my life can be separated into two phases: before I saw Night of the Comet and after I saw Night of the Comet. I didn't even know what it was, but the plot description of "Two valley girls survive the apocalypse" was enough to drop what I was doing.

I am not saying you have to be an American to enjoy the film. Just that it's a more inclined to appeal to Americans.

Off-topic but when I think about Air Force One, I can't help but remember the most American game never released in America. Metal Wolf Chaos [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MetalWolfChaos].

Hope no one else has mentioned it this: Mulholland Drive by David Lynch. SO freaking weird.

Oh, and Repo! the Genetic Opera. And Rec. And Let The Right One In.

A lot of big name movies have been said so I'm going to try to add some less known ones. "Dark City", for a nice sci-fi/film noir movie, "Dr. Horrible sing-along blog", for fun and goofiness. "Stay" with Ewan McGregor and Bob Hoskins. And "Azur and Asmar: The Prince's Quest" cause I want to add an obscure kids movie to this list.

Seeing as how no one has mentioned it, I would like to add The Silence of the Lambs. Hands down, one of my favorite movies.
