i liked the hostel movies, not because of the torture but because the main characters tend to make smart choices once in the torture situation (i admit they make a bad choice initially by getting stuck in that situation.)

I enjoyed the new Indiana Jones movie. Everyone seems to hate it for everything being linked to aliens at the end, but I treated it like a big adventure, and enjoyed it as such.

I hated Avatar whilst my friends liked it.
I find that whenever a movie is over-hyped, I also seem to think it's going to be way beyond expectations, but no, they always fall short. God damn media!

The Spirit.
I really enjoyed that movie... That you get to see Samuel Jackson as a fisherman, samurai and a nazi should be enough!

AVP 2 was a nice piece of mindless violence... I like some no-brain action once in a while! And it had the balls to kill a father and his child within the first 5 minuttes of the movie! Then it went on to slaughter a bunch of pregnant women and their unborn children, in a way that makes downing in acid seem painless! :D
And the "twist" in the end, where the stereotypical Hollywood-blonde we all thought would be among the last survives, got nailed to the wall and died!

And I prefer the first of the 2 new Hulk movies.

The Digimon Movie.

The one with the computer virus-thingy? :D
If it is that, I loved that and I've got the VHS somewhere in the attic.

EDIT: Joe Dirt and Undercover Brother. How could you simply not love Joe Dirt? It's an amazing movie.
Joe Dirt is GREAT! I've seen it so many times. I stumbled upon it by accident because it was on tv, and I taped it for some reason, and I laughed the whole time. David Spade is brilliant in that movie.

My family doesn't do foreign films or anime, but two of my favorite movies ever are Spirited Away and Amelie.

Everyone I know hates Fight Club which is my favorite movie.

My problem isn't that I like movies people hate. It's that I love them more than everyone thinks I should.

The Phantom Menace.

First film I saw at the cinema, and it's fucking good.

Jar Jar is just 'meh' and midichlorians are a tool to explain Anakin's potential and his role as the Chosen One, they AREN'T the force itself, nor are they there to explain it.

Now quit your whining.

The remake of Solaris with George Clooney is one of my favourite films, but I know of few people that like it.
I did not understand that film in the slightest. Fair enough if you want me to interpret something, but I can't interpret every single moment. Do they even say what Solaris is?

Maybe I just shut off when they were explaining stuff.
I too enjoyed Star Wars: The Phantom Menace and all the other prequels. Yes, I grew up on the original trilogy as well, I can like them all and I do.

Midichlorians were inserted by Lucas to shut up the religious nuts who were afraid he was promoting Buddhism to children. he mentioned them a little in the movie and then never again because even he doesn't buy that crap. he made it scientific so all of the whiny parents would leave it the hell alone. Did it mess up some things? Yes, but then again so do religious nuts like that.

Jar Jar was inserted for the kids to make it a little more accessible to them. The other things such as politics, religion, slavery, and immaculate conception may not have held the children's interest as much as watching a goof ball hurt himself. Just ignore it and move on.

Sahara. Honestly that film was just perfect fun. Knew exactly what it wanted to do and just went for it.
