Animal House.

Probably my favorite movie ever, but hardly any of my friends have even heard about it.

"The Village".

I WISH i had seen this, in all honesty sa it actually scary, like atmosphereically instead of "BOO SOMETHING SCARY HERE!". Thinking of buying it.

28 days later also rocked. Hot fuzz is one of my favourite movies, ive met a few people who hated this though. Blair witch project also very scary, brilliant movie.

Paranormal activity, scary in the cinima? No. Scary at home alone trying to sleep and hearing weird as shit sounds EVERY DAMN SECOND?! Yes.

I don't know anyone who likes Evil Dead, or Brain Dead besides me.

EDIT: ooh and I know I shouldn't like it but Lady in the Water was okay
Don't blame me I have a weird obsession with Paul Giamatti

Also,V for Vendetta is another I'll mention.
I think that most people liked this. I mentioned that I didn't like it that much (to me, it was just okay) on a youtube comment and I got like 6 responses that were pretty much I should die and burn forever in a big pile of cayan pepper.

Personally I enjoyed "Cloverfield." What about you?
i could go on and on about how awful this movie is (and how most of j.j. abrams' garbage follows suit) but i won't.

actually i can't help myself ...

oh look! there is a big whole in my chest where you recently pulled rebar out of it. let's run down the streets of new york for a few hours like nothing is wrong! (lolwut?)

on topic: and you're going to find many of the movies your friends, colleagues or whatever didn't like that you did, will be well received here ... similar audience with similar tastes and all. for example, some of my friends did not like Watchmen at all (my wife only liked Rorschach). i bet most people here would say they at least appreciated the movie even if they didn't enjoy the film per se.

Worst example: Half Past Dead. 4.0/10 on IMDB, a whopping 2% on Rotten Tomatoes, and I love it to death!

A lot of Grindhouse films. A lot of my friends are appearance snobs, and there's nothing wrong with that. But I love my grindhouse.

Also, The Village. Bring on any criticisms you have, I adored that movie.

And Dead Alive (Yeah, I'm American). I know a lot of people here like it, but only about two of my friends enjoyed it.

And The Forbidden Zone. A funky, odd, zany musical from the 80's.

And The Spirit.

I could think of some more, but I don't wanna think that hard. (Apologies for all the "Ands"

Defiance. Everyone thought it was average but it was a gem in comparison to ever other piece of crap that came out in 08 and early 09

Transformers.

Yeah, indeed, I admit. What can I say? The macho-man deep inside me loves all the explosions, and the nerd inside me loves watching giant robots duke it out, even though it's hard to follow. I haven't seen Revenge of the Fallen though, and I doubt I'd mind it as much as most people apparently do.

And also the Star Wars prequels. The Phantom Menace is actually my favourite. I really don't mind midi-chlorians (just a Force sensitivity indicator people, nothing more), Jar-Jar was annoying but not that bad and least it didn't have Emo-Anakin. It did have Liam Neeson, Darth Maul and a friggin' awesome podrace.
Totally, man. Qui Gonn was awesome. The only thing I didn't like about Phantom Menace was that the dialogue seemed really dull and it didn't stand out like in all the old ones. The lightsaber battles in the prequels will always fuckin rule. I liked midi chlorians because they explain why the Jedi were considered special, and they kinda gave certain Jedi a limit to their power

Most of my friends hated Shawn of the Dead. And Resident Evil, while not in any way related to the games except zombies, is a good movie to itself. It should have had a diffrent name like Zombie Basement or Umbrella Folly, but it was good in my opintion as a zombie flick. The sequels SuCk.
