Maybe Tank Girl?
Awesome movie!
I really do love that movie. I don't think it really qualifies as a good movie all things considered, but yeah, love.

Although I would say all the roles were pretty much perfectly cast.

Black Sheep. Not the Chris Farley one, the one with the genetically modified sheep that thirst for blood. Nobody I know likes that movie. I would not say that i adore it, i just like it. It's funny to me.

Skyline

Almost every single person I know was absolutely scathing, but they were criticising exactly the kinds of things people complain about in "yay america" sci-fis.

They watch ID4, and they hated the unrealistic rubbish, eg:
"why can a f-18 shoot down a vastly superior alien space ship?"
"why can will smith basically one-hit-kill an alien in combat suit?"
"wtf is the president doing flying a fighter plane?!"

Then they saw Skyline, and complained reverse:
"no way could that house sized alien take a bazooka! it's made in the US of A!"
"what the hell?! they killed Turk from Scrubs!? That's illegal!"
"the ending was stooopid. Humans would have kicked alien arse."
"ps. USA, USA, USA!"

Skyline presented a thoroughly plausible version of alien invasion - you gonna get raped, and no matter how hard you try, you might as well just pass them the lube and think of happier times.
HAHAHA I thought i was alone on this one... I watched it with a whole group who cracked it and said pretty much all you did and my one response was... 'vastly superior race invades earth, what did you think was going to happen?'

I don't really "love" love them but films I like that get alot of hate,

Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, sure it's no Raiders or Cruisade but I still think it's an enjoyable aciton film, better then Temple IMO.

Secondly, now don't kill ne or anything, I know their not works of art or even all that good but *raises sheild* The Transformers films, now hear me out, they are along way from being great films, but I do find them entertaining, when the robot fighting starts it's good dumb fun, I agree with most of the complaints especially the fact that thre is just too much of the humans, and the 2 stupid robots in the second were worse then Jar Jar and Ewokes combined, but I do enjoy watching them. I've yet too see the third though.
Thank you! Glad to know someone else out there thought that Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was a alright action movie. Yeah It's not Raiders or Cruisade in terms of awesomeness but it's still a decent movie minus the bloody fridge thing.

Same here for the Transformers movies as well. Yeah they are far from being great movies but damnit, I had fun when I saw them and that's what counts in the end. Otherwise I pretty much agree with what you say about them, too much focus on the humans and those twins from the second movie can rust for all I care. :D

Spaceballs. No one I know can take a joke from it.
WHAT?!?!?!?! Everyone I know absolutely loves that film!

'I said across her nose, not UP IT!!' (first quote that came to mind...)

OT: Uh, Kingdom of Heaven... though it's not so much as hate as dislike...
"Good Lord, I'm surrounded by Assholes! Keep firing, Assholes!"

Yogurt toy with high-pitched voice: "May the Schwartz be with you!"

"What's your name?" "Baaarrrf!" "Not in here, mister!"

"I'm your father's brother's second cousin's former roommate." "What does that make us?" "Absolutely nothing."

OT: All the ones I would say have been said already, so, oh well.

I loved Scott Pilgrim vs the world, but everyone of my friends hated it, supposedly walking out of the theater when they went to see it.
I still think they have horrible taste in movies...

Sucker Punch

A lot of people hated it, and I thought it was amazing. Not just for the visuals or the soundtrack (both were great and most people seem to agree with that) but I thought the story was awesome. Everyone else seems to disagree...

Even though I can see why a lot of people don't like it, I like Final Fantasy: Spiirts Within. Okay, I'm not a huge FF fan but I do like this movie. Another movie I like but alot of other people(in my school) don't even know(or apparently care) is Fight Club.

.......

I can see why people don't like Spirits Within, but to not like Fight Club is uterly ridiculous. OOHHH, so I'm suppose to like Baby Boy and Friday because I'm black but you asses can't enjoy a sci-fi and a psycological movie even though I wasted a good Saturday watching "BLACK" movies to prove I'm black!?

I swear, alot of people in my school are weed smoking idiots. And who the hell doesn't like Inception just because they couldn't understand the plot?

I'm gonna say "End of Evangelion", because when me and my friends watched it I was the only one that saw it as the jewel it was! And the others can go fuck themselves...

...pretty sure I'm the only one here who's actually watched it though...
You'd be surprised how many anime fans there are here. Did your friends see the TV series? If not, that's probably a big part of why: no way in hell they'd have been anywhere near attached enough to the characters for the film to be effective. Still, I'm surprised they didn't at least pick up on how well executed a lot of the sequences were, even if only on an intellectual level. After all, the first clip I ever saw of anything related to the franchise was Asuka's demise, and that was very effective even without knowing who the hell the girl in the red mech was.

Actually, while I do think a lot of the individual scenes are brilliant, I don't think the film works very well as a whole, so I guess I see where both you and your friends are coming from. Given that it's one of the highest rated science fiction films on imbd though, as divisive as the show and especially the film are, I probably wouldn't say you're in much of a minority.

Agreed. The story was bleak as seven hells, but I thought it was good. The most positive opinion I've heard from anyone else was "best bad movie of the year."
