This seems more like user stupidity than the fault of Microsoft, not moving a peice of hardware with moving parts in it when it's running should be common fucking sense*, and if you do, for some no doubt idiotic reason feel the urge to start throwing your console around while it's running, you deserve whatever you get for your stupidity.

*[sub][sub]Although to be fair, Common Sense does seem to be so rare nowadays that it may as well be considered a fucking superpower...[/sub][/sub]

Shit happens, I once jerked my Ps3 while I was charging up my controller, people trip, stuff flies around the room, that sort of thing.
Yes, accidents happen. But with the right amount of planning accidentally bumping your console should be a non-issue. For instance, my family puts all the consoles in the same area (with enough space in-between to allow for heat venting), and we don't even stack them vertically (similar reasons.) This location is sufficiently out of the way and around neck height, so accidents basically just can't happen.

Besides, we're not talking about accidental moving, we're talking about deliberately moving the thing while it is powered on, and has a disk in it. That's just being careless.

For all I know, my family's DVD player/PS3/Wii/etc allows you to move it around with the disk spinning in it. You still wouldn't catch me trying it under any circumstances. I don't care how long it takes: you remove the disk, turn the device off, unplug it and THEN move it.

This isn't anything new, it has always happened to the 360, Slim or not. What they don't tell you that you disc drive may stop reading the discs after it puts laser bun into a disc. Believe me, I know.

If you're stupid enough to move your Xbox while it's spinning up you deserve what's coming to you.
I agree. Do the other consoles not do this? I would think that it was common knowledge to not move a console while it's working. If I pushed my pc over with a spinning disk in, I'd be amazed if nothing broke.

Conclusion: Don't be stupid, and don't place a console on a surface where it's easily knocked down.

Why the heck would anyone intentionally try to move their console while it's operating? It seems obvious that that would not work too well. Personally, I keep my consoles in protected positions where it's largely impossible for anyone to accidentally strike them at any time. These are sophisticated, sensitive pieces of equipment, not hunks of plastic with magic entertainment gnomes in them.
I know what you mean, there`s fairies in there too XD seriously though why would you try to move your 360 whilst it`s playing a disc? unless you`re trying to rob it , in which case try again later when it`s turned off that way you make more cash

Isn't that common knowledge?

I mean, every other console I've seen has the exact same problem, so I don't understand how this is in anyway significant. Also, who the hell is going to swing their xbox around while using it?
