Any multiplayer indie game that gets released on Steam. :p Within a month almost everyone is back to Team Fortress 2.

MAG...*sigh*

It defiantly needs more players.

Especially in Raven (gooooo.... Raven!).

Try to find Red Faction Guerrilla games on PC.

You shant.
Same deal with the 360/PS3...nobody plays it anymore.
I'm starting to think AC:Brotherhood's multiplayer is dying too, which is a shame because it's actually fun.

Tf2. Although not dead, it's content dead. players just come by and trade hats and play till their drop cap is done
Sounds to me like you need to find better servers. I have a list of favorites that are frequently populated with regulars that could care less about trading.

Back on-topic, Jedi Outcast's multiplayer mode was a barren wasteland last time I checked. CTF and Duel modes were completely empty, and the three or four populated FFA servers were little more than glorified chat rooms with abusive admins.

'Tis a crying shame. I remember many hours of frenzied Free-For-Alls and insane CTF servers with Force Speed and insta-gib Disruptor Rifles. Now it's just a memory.

Ricochet - has no players
D.I.P.R.I.P Warm up - no players
Eternal Silence - 10 if you are lucky
Empires - insanely fun, but has at most 50 players, most of which I recognize
SourceForts - usually has 0-2 players online, but I have never seen more than that
Red Faction: Guerrilla for the PC - had no people on after I got games for window to work (if I wanted LIVE I would have gotten an xbox!)
GTA IV PC- less than 10 people
Supreme commander 2 - very few games, although the game took away the only thing fun about sup com
Supreme commander/Forged Alliance - Since the main engine will only run on a few cores, no computer will play it *sigh*

Shadowrun, which is unfortunate, because I thought it was a really fun game. Also Turok on the 360, but that game wasn't fun to begin with, so it's understandable.
Shadowruns not really dead, its got a small group of dedicated fans. Finding a game isnt terribly hard, there just wont be full games on every map and in every mode.

Battle for Middle Earth II and Overlord are completely dead though, you wont find a single person in either of those ever

I'm willing to bet the multiplayer to the latest Turok was never alive ^^
It takes like 5 minutes, but you can get into a match.

And actually when that game first came out, multiplayer was CRAZY populated on the 360.
I met quite a few of my current play buddies on there.

Too many people are playing COD online on consoles all the f****ing time. It's seriously killing the online mutiplayer aspects of other games in general.

Might have a trump card to play here.

Project Nomads.

Fantastic, unique, unusual game about fighting with flying lighthouses. Probably deserving of cult classic fame. When me and some friends LANed it, we decided to check online...across several days there was never a single other person online.

chromehounds, best online ever yet they shut the servers down for no reson at all even thogh there were still a ton of people who played it.

Apparently because Sega couldn't afford to keep the server running <_<.

This is despite the fact that it sold quite well and still had a strong player base after 3 years+!
My brothers, I love you all. I don't think I've experienced stronger camaraderie than in my CH squad. The amount of people that were unaware of that game's existence astounds me.

Great games with great multiplayer gone before their time. I shall shed a manly tear for Chromehounds, Unreal Tournament 3, Shadowrun, and many other games that were good at the time, but long forgotten.
And you sir, have named my two of my favourite games of all time. I would give you a cookie, but I don't think there's one big enough.

Section 8, on PC anyway, I guess either everyone went to the new one or everyone hated it that much.

League of Legends is dead to me because people on it are very unfriendly to you if you are trying to learn a new character. Oh you mean for real? Chromehounds.
Well, Co-op vs. AI is a good way to learn a new character.
This and as mentioned in other posts, custom games.

It might not count because it's a mod, but I played Jailbreak a while back. It was well rated on ModDB, it was recommended to me... and there was literally not a single person on the servers besides me. It was a little creepy, walking into a ghost town of servers like that.

Hmm, I reckon Red Faction: Guerilla on PS3 would be dead as a doornail, since I just cant imagine anyone playing it anymore. That and probably Battlefield: Bad Company. Everyone's playing the second one now, which is a shame because I liked the first one a lot more. The second one is too fast paced, whereas the first one you could just take your time and fight how you wanted to fight.

Y'know what's not dead? Mechwarrior 4: Mercs! I actually found a couple of games yesterday, how crazy is that?

Any multiplayer games that you know of that are dead dead dead?

Other than Unreal Tournament 3 of course.
Savage is more or less dead.

The Specialists as I recall it died, as did ESF. (then again I live in NZ so maybe the amount of people who play is simply restricted to us and Australia without lag)
