My Bloody Valentine... They look like some little punks, but the music is pretty good. Oh, and the band name leaves much to be desired.
Their very good, shoudnt be ashamed.

Myself:

Guns N Roses.
Rammstein.
Children Of Bodom.
What's embarrassing about those? Admittedly, Axl Rose is a douche, but the old GNR was awesome!

I don't have any embarrassing ones. I'm proud of everything I listen to, and that includes pirate metal.

Those bands are bad.

And pirate metal doesnt exist. Its some made up bullshit.
Maybe this will change your mind?
It's what I think of when I hear pirate metal.
Anyway, this and Dragonforce. They seem to get a lot of hate, but I just like some of their songs.

I am not ashamed of any of the music I listen to. Why would anyone be ashamed of something that they enjoy?

My guilty pleasure (as anyone can conclude to by looking at my overall Last.fm statistics) is t.A.T.u.

Avril Lavigne.... as a metalhead it's almost painful for me to admit. Like, my spleen may or may not be rupturing right now.

I'm not in 10th grade anymore so I don't feel the need to make myself seem "cool" with my musical tastes so I'm not ashamed of any of the music I listen to. My pick for the best album of 2007 was Metro Station's self-titled album. ***** I don't give a fuck.

OOH LOOK THERE BE PIRATES ON THE COVER OF THE ALBUM OBVIOUSLY PIRATE METAL.

This is just Power Metal with a pirate image.

There is no pirate music theory therefore there is no pirate metal.
Fine... No pirate metal...
It's still good music, though

I was about to post this,

Nope, I'm not ashamed of who I listen to. Even the odd Linkin Park song.
or that, without the Linkin Park -part as I've done for the many other threads very similar to this thread. They are very much like this one, almost the same thread actually, except for the time being, they are not, because they aren't in fact the same thread. Instead they are very similar, yet not the very same thread. Shall I leave the room?

I find it just so ridiculous to be ashamed of music you like. I mean... Pretentious... See... Deceiving yourself... Hypocrite... Well... Never mind.

But respect and cookies for you Sirs.

Hmm...

This made me really think, as for the most part I'm a metal person, going with Soilwork through to Lamb of God - my band plays within this sort of genre too, naturally; I recently made a thread about music with real power behind it, but...

I hate to admit it even to myself, but I actually really like most music: through from the Haruhi theme to Eminem to Opeth to Cee-Lo Green track to Blind Gaurdian to the Claymore theme.

Don't tell my friends, I'm the resident Metalhead =)

I like Lady GaGa..............
Me too....... I still try to deny it, even though when I hear a song come on I wind up listing to the whole thing.
Why is everyone ashamed of liking Lady GaGa I LOVE Lady GaGa and i'm not ashamed and I like Shakira, Katy Perry, Cheryl Cole, Beyonce and Ke$ha, singers i'm ashamed of liking however, hmm well I don't like the singer exactly but Justin Bieber's Baby isn't as bad as I always say it is, infact it's actually good, also i'm kind of ashamed of having seen every episode of Phineas & Ferb and loving all their songs seeing as how it is a childrens show.
Also (Sorry this is a link but I don't know how to put the video here and i'm too lazy to figure it out so unless someone tells me in REALLY simple terms it's a link):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=poFtjW-uGmg

and coincedentaly Olivia Olson (the one who sings that song) is a prominent voice actor in Phineas and Ferb.

I listen to Andrew W.K.
Andrew W.K. fucking rocks. 'I Get Wet' did not leave my CD walkman for 3 weeks when it first came out!
Soudwa...er, Miracle speaks the truth. Andrew WK is too awesome for words, and if you're ashamed of him then you haven't partied enough.

EDIT: I think that if I was ever caught listening to Alestorm in public I'd possibly claim it as a glitch. Seriously, "pirate" metal is just power metal with a concertina and lyrics about "wenches" and "ale". Really, it's just fantasy gangsta rap.
