I basically only listen to rock and metal, but I still have a soft spot for certain kinds of rap,the more underground stuff. And a friend and I have both admitted to strangely liking this song:

I'm not really ashamed about it, but I do love my power-metal. Few people I know actually share this appreciation. :/

I don't have a great deal of music shame, but I'd probably be careful in choosing who I reveal my enjoyment of Bon Jovi / Lady Gaga / Linkin Park / Smile.dk / Madonna / Tom Jones / etc to. Some folks with a lot more unfounded shame set a lot of stock by this sort of thing for some reason.

(For the record: I was into BJ before they actually stopped being rockers, LG is just plain fun pop music of a sort we haven't had for a while in this XFactor-saturated world (even if it does have dirty lyrics and a lot of autotune) who I blindly bashed like everyone else until a friend who's a rabid fan put an hour-long medley on a pub jukebox, LP I saw in concert recently and they tore the goddamn roof off, SDK... well, yeah, guilty pleasure, Madge is a mixed bag but a cleaner LG if you pick wisely, and TJ, well... he's The Voice after all)

Oh - actually ... yes. Justin Timberlake and Usher. I busted many a move to them whilst doing nightclub bar work. Ahem. It's trash, but it's infectious. The otherwise despicable NDubz may end up going the same way.
Heck of a lot of artists of the same clans of those three I simply can't abide however. I don't know how they particularly make the cut and the others don't.

My Bloody Valentine... They look like some little punks, but the music is pretty good. Oh, and the band name leaves much to be desired.
Their very good, shoudnt be ashamed.

Myself:

Guns N Roses.
Rammstein.
Children Of Bodom.
What's embarrassing about those? Admittedly, Axl Rose is a douche, but the old GNR was awesome!

I don't have any embarrassing ones. I'm proud of everything I listen to, and that includes pirate metal.
Those bands are bad.

And pirate metal doesnt exist. Its some made up bullshit.
1) No music is bad. There will be music you don't like, and music you will hate with every fiber of your being, but it isn't bad. No exceptions.

2) All genres are "made up bullshit". Seriously. If they want to kill power metal about pirates pirate metal, fucking let them. Why? Because genres are helpful things. They don't need theory, although it can help.

I like Nickelback, but then again, I never understand why people didnt. I mean, people always tell me its generic rock garbage but there's only maybe 3 or 4 good bands of an age and everything in comparison is generic garbage.

Then again... I also like J-pop. I mean... Tell me this isnt awesome:

I love the Black Parade by My Chemical Romance. The whole album. I also love Weezer's Red Album but that was their last good one unless you count the Pinkerton re-release.

It just seems...wrong; and yet it feels so right. Blame it on my puritanical instincts.
I seriously don't see anything wrong with this.

I don't mind two Jason Derulo songs... Though I know I shouldn't.

Oh ye be unknowledgeable that there is no Pirate Music Theory to create a pirate metal genre.

Its power metal with a pirate image.
Theyplay metal, and sing about pirates, so logically they're pirate metal.
