Thought I'd contribute something a bit different to the thread.

Love this song, and it's pretty sad if you understand it.

More swedish music, of the more traditional kind.

And topping it off with some good old misery. Music video for those unfortunate souls who do not understand swedish included!

You'll most likely not understand a word, but their dialect's so heavy most Norwegians don't either...

A spawn from the previous band

And one of my favourites, fitting for this time of year

These guys deserve some serious loving, they supported Blink182 at the Glasgow gig and they were bloody magic, so go listen!

You utter incompetant fool. We have Rush, the Guess Who, BTO, Trooper, half of Steppenwolf, April Wine, Billy Talent, and so much more.

One of my friends said that the definitive Canadian band is the Tragically Hip. This makes me want to kill myself, for I thought she had actual taste in music.
Hmm... I like 'The Hip,' but I've never gone so far as to say they're the definitive band... So I at least agree with you there. They mearly fill the role of our most popular folk-rock group. Which just means they sing about Canada, so it's obvious they're Canadian...

There's certainly a lot of other good Canadian music to pick through... Like the one's you mentioned.

On another note... Canada is sorry for Justin Beiber... we are so very very sorry...

I'm American. There's more good music than I can shake a stick at. (Or have time to listen to)
Care to provide an example...

Maybe something that might not escape your borders otherwise... In other words, a less popular band you think is good... I did it for my country, I came up with 4! America can definitely top Canada right? Bring it on!!!

Hm, let's see.

They are pretty good for this country's standards.

Then there's Excuse me Moses.

And because I feel I have to...

Excellent, you see that? You participated in the sharing of your music, now I can experience more thoroughly what your country has to offer...

Now, for what I learned... Ludo seems the closest to my cup of tea, so I'll perhaps check them out. I also learned that Chuck Mangoine is real and not just a character on 'King of the Hill,' thank you for rectifying my misguided ways...

Also, isn't Daft Punk from France?

Fact: Poland makes amazing metal music.
Well all I hear is "RAWWWWR!!" (x9001) and "BANG BANG BANG!" (*I* wouldn't class that as "music", but *technically* it still counts). However, that's just my opinion - it's not like I'm saying it's a "Fact:" or anything like that...
Thanks for being close minded ;]

Here's some more awesome music from Poland if you do not like death metal:

I unfortunately cannot add my favorite bands, since they come from not-my-country. So here's some American music.

Posting a bunch of black metal would be kind of cliche, wouldn't it?
