Or IDM? (I cant seem to find any of the most 'noise' stuff)

I'm not sure how people can call Hip Hop noise, my response would always be, "no, I can show you some noise".

There's a difference between noise and music you don't like.

A lot of modern hip hop for me. It all sounds like the same beeps and autotuner, with no discernible quality.

Album got a 10/10 from Pitchfork. Totally deserved it. Just came out yesterday.

You know... other than actual noise music, I don't consider anything to be noise. Sure, there's stuff I don't like, but that doesn't mean it's noise.
I'm not saying that all hip hop made after 1996 is shite, but there's a lot that's coming out that all sounds the bloody same to me, though that might just be repetitive sampling.
While I don't doubt that there's a lot of good stuff to go along with it, as it is with any genre of music, the stuff that I mostly hear is the same repetitive beat sampled to death over and over again. I have heard a lot of good things about Kanye's latest album as a whole, after all.

Anything where I can't understand the language, I just can't like songs that I can't understand because lyrics are a large part of the music I listen to. Oh and country, I hate country with a passion as hot as a thousand suns.

Music is the a creative and expressive art. What does not qualify as music is 'music' thats only made for the purpose of money, not naming anything cause i ain't burning myself to that one

None. All art should be respected, though not necessarily agreed with or enjoyed.

Except for country music, good God, I hate country music...

For what it's worth, Hannah Montana and Justin Bieber isn't noise, I can make out the majority of their lyrics and the music isn't that grating. Although I'm not a fan of either.

Music that is noise is usually screamy, angsty, rage-induced, same 3 chords, glottal, head-banging, thrash metal which has been a carbon copy of itself for the past 20 years.

Obviously I'm not a fan of metal, but I stick by my opinion.

And before I get any replies saying, "METAL ROX" and you type with your fingers thrown up in devil horns just remember this is my opinion and nothing more. Not every response requires a quote or troll.

Anyone smashing on rap's simply never heard the likes of guys like Del, Edan and Aesop Rock before.
Exactly, they are smashing on what they know to be Rap. It really all you can do: go with what you know have experienced/observed.

that being said...

I contend that there is at least one [good: that 90% 51% of people would consider not to be bad && that 90% of critiques would consider to be talented, significant, etc etc] artist in every major genre of music, providing that you consider a time period of no less that 20 years.

Another person said in the start of the thread that there is no music that is noise. I fully agree with that. A noise is something like a car crash. It doesn't have any real development, it's just a single sound effect.
The music I listen to ranges greatly. I listen to stuff from pop to "raw" black metal to dnb to dubstep to classical music. Even if some music sucks, then it isn't valid to call it noise. Even that 30 second clip near the start is music. Industrial type, sure; eerie, fine. It still has a subtle melody to it. I don't particularily like the clip itself (in the sense that I would download it and listen to it over and over), but it doesn't change the fact that it still has a substance to it. And no, I'm not Italian.
So all in all, music can't be noise. And if it's written as "music", then it doesn't take into consideration what music really needs. In that sense, "music" is definitely noise, because it's not even meant to have any purpose to it...

Grindcore: the bastard child of Death Metal. And for that matter most genres that end in core.... I listen to lots of Death Metal, even Black Metal when it's not generic or recorded on like crap, but Metalcore and grindcore and Deathcore etc etc etc etc.... just no.

I fucking hate rap.
But you're right I've never heard of those guys. I'm vaguely aware that some of the older rap was brilliant- before mainstream rap became 50cent style bull. I've also been told that the more obscure rap artists tend to be quite good.
All the same, I really can't bring myself to bother trawling through it all to find 'good' rap because I doubt I'd like it anyways.

OT: To me, hardly anything is 'just noise.' But this is coming from the guy who hallucinates music over mundane sounds anyway, like a bassline over the sound of crunching gravel. I like screamo and if you listen to it enough you do hear all the layers of instruments through the dirtortion. And screaming is just another vocal style, like growling, or pig squeals, or spoken. The only stuff I would consider 'just noise' is very extreme.

Maybe it's just me getting old, but I couldn't listen to more than a minute and a half of this before getting a headache. And don't dismiss me as a pop-music hating zealot, I can at least listen to most of it.

Maybe I am getting old. But my current best for this song is 1:10 in.

Also, herp derp rap derp. LOL jk I'm not an idiot who disregards an entire genre because I don't like 50 Cent.

Umm... okay lets see...

Take away the lyrics...

put it in a modern "retro" game (like Super Meat Boy, or I Wanna be the Guy)
then MAYBE it'll be "okay" at best
Er, listen to the entire song and think again.

C'mon, how is this [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGVmBkMqN44] worse than death metal? Just because the vocals don't make sense and sound like either a gutted pig or a raped pig (in some other bands) doesn't mean the music isn't nice.
