As for the thread, most rap / hip-hop and some country. As a general rule of thumb, not every genre is that bad, except possibly screamo, but I'm sure there's at least a few decent songs in every genre that everyone will like sooner or later despite their personality.

Unless they make an actual song that's just noise, then I'd consider it to be noise, since that's what it is :-/ Techno doesn't count, if done right it can be good.

Well, most modern pop music for me. 'Not objectively terrible' is the nicest thing I could say about a lot of it.

Screamo, Grindcore, Deathcore etc. I love black metal but black metal has a fascinating aura about it and the bands are actually doing it for a reason not just to hit a popular mainstream crowd. That and black metal seems to be sung by adults not 15 year olds angry at their mums.

Anyone smashing on rap doesn't know shit about rap, and base their opinions mainly on some odd stereotypes they heard around the time they decided to hate things that are popular or can't understand.

Aesop Rock is more Trip Hop though. Not that genres matter, and I'm the one who is so very much opposed to the whole concept of genres...

I'm not that big of a fan of Aesop, but I do love Blockhead whole-heartedly, and therefore can't count Aesop completely away either.

for me, mostly just screamo. i despise most pop, but i wouldn't call it noise. but when an otherwise pretty song degrades to screaming, it really turns me off and i just don't see the appeal or the point.

Yeah I can't stand screamo either... although there's this ONE screamo song that I got stuck in my head merely because of it's chorus

I can't stand a lot of the same bands some ppl I know like. I just like about 3 bands & that's it. I like 2 rappers & some songs by some artists. The rest I could care less
