I didn't say I hated it, in fact I said I liked it, I just don't know what to classify it as haha!
Don't worry I'm yanking your chain, I rather like it and it's a different taste for everyone, I just wish my words would have been easier to express my joking ways, sorry if any offense, WOPR.

And honestly? I'd say Country, but since you called it Country-Rap I'm now starting to ponder if there is a possible situation to actually be something like that.

Now I'm confused, and trying to imagine a rap song with a country man singing and instruments. I know what I need to do. *Puts on cowboy hat and goes to find the nearest rap-lyrics person*
Nah I didn't take any offense, I just still don't know what to call it lol

I think Country-rap is the best description
*listens to song again*
OH YEAH!

The music I prefer is actual music and the music I don't prefer is noise.

There, you got the response you wanted.

Nothing. I consider anything that has instruments or a voice attempting to sing music. It doesn't have to be very good music, but it's still definitely music.

Agreed 100%. I may not like country, modern "R&B", or most pop... but that doesn't mean it doesn't have some musical structure.

...even really crappy death metal [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hG0cKOCNODI] has structure (but don't get me wrong, I love me some well done death metal [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBHNiebX2Mo]).

I cant blame a whole genre for a few artists but for the sake of discussion I'll say most mainstream rap and that really dark metal. Growling noises and constantly repeating the instructions of the newest street dance isnt very melodic sounding to me.

Brokencyde. And I should note I am quite tolerant with music, but that noise? I will now proceed to not calling it music, instead noise.

Ah, i thought that might be misinterpreted, sorry about that.
I meant that the majority of rap we hear on the radio commercially is often to do with those subjects (or subjects that are simply branching off). I'm hardly an expert on this genre, but if you'd like to point me in the direction of some good artists or songs, then i'd love to hear it :)
sure i'll pm ya some artist and songs later

I am very accepting of most types of metal music.
However, the band Dillenger Escape Plan does sound like "noise" to me.
I could tell from some nuggets of there songs that there is a talented and catchy sonwriting ability in there, but instead they choose to just bang on their instruments and ruin any hook quality they may have had.
I could go on forever on other genres, but that one band in particular bugs me.

Woah woah woah woah okay shit has JUST hit the hyper drive. Listen to their new album, option paralysis, over and over until you can deal with the vocals. Focus on every aspect of the band, the drums, the bass, the guitar, the signature. EVERY MINUTE DETAIL. TDEP are easily the best metalcore band around today, save maybe converge (and if you don't like TDEP, you won't like converge)

I thought the same thing as you a few months back, but now Option Paralysis is set to be in my top 5 albums of the year.
Metalcore? Dillinger Escape Plan? Sorry, but Metalcore uses typically traditional rhythms, which DEP definitely does not.

The genre is called mathcore, a convenient name for the elements you described (time signature complexity).

Personally, no matter how impressive it may be to play, it still sounds like garbage to me.

Merzbow. That is all.

I second this. Someone actually recommended this to me once and I sat through it thinking that it was just a really long, unnecessary intro to the actual song... about 2 minutes in I realized that was the "song"

also a lot of these bands that try to be brutal death metal but their vocals and instruments are just waaaaay too heavy (like I listen to some heavy shit, I'm talking the stuff thats so heavy that its bad) so basically it seems like it has no structure at all, its a bunch of idiots seeing how fast they can play an instrument and some dude yelling at me incoherently

Well... You're forgetting there is a genre of music that is called noise.

A lot of shoegaze, dreampop and grunge bands sometimes fall under the noise sound.

NiN, Sonic Youth, Slowdive and in terms of more current bands there are acts like HEALTH, Pictureplane, Crocodiles etc.

Noise can be music. Just saying.
