I play a violin. Currently, I'm figuring out Stairway to Heaven. No jokes.

EDIT- I thought this was about on our own. Me is wrong, then.

EDIT 2- Well lookie here, another violinist!

I've been playing the violin for ever. Now I mostly play worked versions of whatever songs I like. I can play about half of Paul McCartney's career work from muscle memory.

I tried to learn guitar for a while but fell out with it before I actually got any good.

I can also play the fiddle. (✌゚∀゚)☞
You kidding?

Use violinists are everywhere.

We're an awesome bunch! :D

Have you guys got any recording of your playing? I'd love to see some of it ^_^
Weeeell, I'm a little squeamish playing alone. And I have no idea where my concert videos are. :p

...*Facepalm*..

And in regard to the slapping thing..It's not a problem of me being able to do it, It's just a lack of comfort and technique..It's something I'm still working on. There are times when I can slap really quite well, but it just seems to be one of those things where all the conditions need to be just right..

The room needs to be exactly THIS temperature and my stomach needs to be THIS full and it needs to be EXACTLY 4:00pm..

I'm working on it xD

I know that feel.
Some days my fingers just feel so cold and stiff, and others they feel perfect for playing. It's really weird.

Okay, I really need to get to bed now. It's four in the morning, and I'm getting up to make a 10 hour drive to my new folk high school to start studying music for a bit.
Urrrrgh, the internet is always keeping me awake.

I play bass and guitar, as well as dabbling in atmospheric keyboards/synths. Even though I can't play any other instruments to save my life I am working with a great drum program to craft my drum lines.

I pull from many different variants of hard rock. And I'm slowly working on an demo that kinda fuses Industial and Punk. (My friends think I'm crazy)

My influences:

Bass - John Entwistle (The Who), Matt Freeman (Rancid), Ryan Jurhs (Flaw)
Guitar - Jules Hodgson (KMFDM), Joey D'Amico (40 Below Summer), John "Space" Smith (Memento)
Drums - Steve Clark (Memento), Keith Moon (The Who), Kris Kohls (Adema/Videodrone)
Programming/Production - Klayton (Celldweller), Brent Autrey (Blue Stahli), Jay Gordon (Orgy)

Started playing clarinet in 5th grade all the way up to senior year marching band. Haven't bothered with it since, because I'd actually like to get into guitar or bass guitar.

I'm a percussionist! I especially like mallet percussion, and consider marimba to be the instrument I am best at.

I originally started clarinet when I was 11, and tried the marimba when I was 16 and made the switch permanently. My first mallet piece was written by Ney Rosauro, who is now my absolute favorite composer. I even got to meet him because he teaches an age-unrestricted percussion camp (He's the one introducing me to the audience in one of my youtube videos where I performed one of his pieces.) I spent one semester of college not majoring in music and realized that it was a major mistake, so I formally auditioned and have been a music student ever since :D

Drums. Been playin' for about 2 and a half years now.
Here is a picture of my kit when I first started playing. It's since been moved out of the garage and cleaned up a bit.

I have an old myspace somewhere where I uploaded a bunch of OLD and impossibly bad fuck around recordings.
No, I will not link you to it. : <

Woah...That's an incredibly beautiful sound, makes me wish I could actually play percussion, I can play the simplest of drumbeats just by watching my friends play, but percussion isn't something I could physically be good at, I reckon I'd be too hyper xD

Drum kit. It's an old second hand one, so it's not THAT great, but it works, and it's quite fun to play. Just haven't really got round to playing it lately.... :/

I play DJ Decks. Mine are virtual, but I was thinking about getting a Vestex Typhoon pretty soon. IDK, it's all just a hobby, and that's a lot of money for a hobby.

Your stock standard Fender Precision Bass is my instrument of choice

I love the dull thud it makes, due to my amp being set to maximum bass and minimal treble.

I do dabble with drums and guitar. I couldn't tell you what my drums are but I use an Epiphone SG rip off (Not really a rip off since gibson own epiphone, but whatever), but bass is where my heart is at due to the rhythms of Mr. Motown, James Jamerson, and Timmy C. from Rage Against the Machine

For those interested, my guitar: {Warning:big picture}

I play guitar, have done since I was about eight, which makes it about 12 years I have played for now. Have studied music for 2 years out of highschool and have a Diploma in music. Favourite genres to play are blues, jazz, and hardcore. I dabble in other instruments, harmonica, piano, drums. I play a Gretsch 5120 with a average Marshall 120DFX with a few pedals. My favourite guitar player would be either Kenny Burrell or Stevie Ray Vaughan.
I have the same model Gretsch in orange, it's such a slick guitar. It goes very nicely with my Orange Tiny Terror head and cab.

I have a Gibson LP Classic and a Fender Strat too, which are great for when you want to sound exactly like everybody else.

Thanks! I love the sound of the marimba to death, and it's such fun to play. I actually am not a natural percussionist in the slightest, so I had the worst time starting out, (I couldn't even play triplets properly) and I dumped a lot of my time and hard work into percussion in order to get around that. I don't have any good videos of me playing it, but I'm also very into playing vibraphone. I wish I was good enough of snare/timpani/drumset to show off, but hopefully I will be sooner or later.

That's my tenor banjo (Oz) and my cittern, I play mostly folk stuff, but sometimes I learn silly things. I also have a 5-string banjo, an accordion and a couple of guitars that I seem to have picked up over the years but haven't found time to pick up yet.

I play a Yamaha RBX375 (5 string bass) through a nice meaty behringer amp with a cubase effects processor. I tend to write proggy stuff or vaguely classical stuff. I'll post some if I ever get a device with decent recording software on it.

My inspirations are Flea(Oh my god the riffs that man produces on a bass guitar blow my mind.)
and Chris Wolstenholme of Muse.
Ah yes, Muse. The moment I decided to pick up the bass instead of the guitar was when a friend of mine taught me the intro riff to Hysteria. It felt a bit underwhelming, but then I got hold of a bass guitar and did the same thing... holy crap. Awesome.
Never been hugely interested in Flea's stuff though. Prefer the likes of Cliff Burton, Justin Chancellor.
