This game was good... I dunno why everyone is so pissed.
I can agree with the PC users, console users have got it better however.

Personally I enjoyed the multiplayer when I played it at my friends house. Also - the clincher for me - the unlock system works in split screen multiplayer. Me and my friends are not completely socially retarded and often play a lot of split screen, so we appreciate this feature.

I love it and you can fuck right off. I'm going to go headshot a few insurgents.
Congratulations for trolling, here's your medal *slap*.
Why is it good? Care to elaborate?
No problem at all. I think Modern Warfare 2 is good in the same way as a summer blockbuster is. It's full of action, a great ride, and has a lot of cool things within. Now take all of those things and stretch it out over 5-6 hours (Campaign) and then for about an infinite amount of time. (Multiplayer)
.......Congratulations for ignoring all the flaws with it...Don't get me wrong, I love the occasional 'Michael Bay' action game, but from what I can tell, £35 for a short campaign, and average at best multiplayer, whilst fixing f**k all from CoD5 (Which needed the gaming equivalent of a triple bypass), that hardly constitutes a good game. Basically, from the points of length, graphics, gameplay etc, it comes out average, not "Omgosh wut a great game!"
Its funny that you accuse him of trolling then all you do is berate the fact he likes a game, he gave reasons, why must you go on about the fact he likes a game and you don't?

In any light, I love the game, its campaign was a bit lacking, short but I still had a hell of a time playing through it. I feel it deserved the score it got(keep in mind I play on consoles) The multilayer is fucking awesome online, the air support can be a bit overpowered at times but killstreaks are a reward for playing better than everyone else so why not make them powerful? I have a hell of a time playing it and I will continue to play it for months to come. Graphically I think it is one of the best console games, its hard to judge against games with beautiful scenery and whatnot but it looks pretty damn good to me.

I've heard your opinion of the game, and you have heard mine, can't we all just... get along?

I really enjoyed the SP and still replay some of the missions. The MP is fun but I do feel that some of the maps could be better.

I quite liked the SP , addmitedly there needs to be the ability to chose maps in MP beyond simply voteing to skip them as i`m tired to the back o` my teeth of playing favela over and over again

I've only played the first (did not like it), but I got to say, people are acting like sheep it seems.
Oh no, someone called people who liked MW2 sheep! Quickly everyone, let's all blindly follow this guy's opinion instead! That's sure to identify us as capable of independant thought!

You bought the PC version man. The PC version of a modern day FPS is never made with as much love and care as the console version. Yes the campaign is short, criminally short and the plot almost makes no sense and has more than a few unanswered questions. But other than that, the game is brilliant and more than met the hype, especially with the greatly expanded and tweaked multi-player. Granted it won't receive my Game of the Year vote, that will go to either Uncharted 2 or Batman: Arkham Asylum, it is the defining FPS of the decade and will set the standard for all future games of the genre. Seriously dude, don't compare a console version of an FPS with its console version; they are not made the same way. Consoles are THE bread and butter of modern FPS games.

I loved the Single Player Campaign, and I don't really play that much multiplayer so, I'm not gonna comment on that.

Next time you know not to buy games like this. Any series with more than consists of 6 games is just cashing in on their success, especially when it's a generic FPS.

I went to my mates place and played one multiplayer TDM game and about half an hour of campaign. I found it to be an insane amount of fun...Of course I haven't played it enough to pass judgement but the fact that I already want to blow 70-100 bucks AU on this game after about an hour of playing it speaks quite loudly.

You're a little late on the "it's not very good"-boat.

I'm not even going to bother getting it.

Why did it get 9.0+? same reason Halo 3 did
Because they were decent games with a sturdy multiplayer fanbase on the console? Am I the only one who belives that Halo 3 deserves the score it got?
Yes, you are the only one.
Alright then. Good to know that the entire world sent one person to tell me that.
And another. Halo 3 = dated on it's release. Enough said and for a topic that's been done a billion times over.
Just one quick point, is it really a bad thing that halo supported an old playstyle? the fact that it was old shouldn't matter, they pulled it off quite well.

I played it. I found it definitely mediocre. I like (unfortunately like yahtzee) the offline play. And I have found the 6 hours story line very easy and predictable. The online capabilities are dull, same ol', same ol' FPS style fighting thing.

Why did it get 9.0+ on all reviews??
OMG. An FPS being like an FPS? THE MIND REELS.

I loved the game. The Campaign wasn't good in story telling. It was a Micheal Bay movie. It had action, it had shooting, and it had explosions. The Online is where it shines in my opinion. It takes CoD4 and makes it 10x better in almost every way possible. The maps are good, but spawns are still broken as fuck. (Spawning where the whole other team is? Happens all the time! Especially on Highrise!) Assault Rifles are overpowered, but its pretty balanced (as in all the weapons are so overpowered that it suddenly becomes balanced.

Besides Sub Machine guns. They are kind of shit.

I've read the first 2 pages of this thread and people keep saying "the console version is better, so the game isnt as mediocre as you think". Would someone clarify how the console version is better exactly?

My understanding was the PC version was the same as the console version, which is why we believe it is shit because features that are usually in PC games have been removed to make the game more inline with the xbox version. PC gamers believe that this is a step back, most console players dont see the problem because they havent experienced the features that normally appear on a PC game.
