I was so fucking happy to at least see Halo 3 knocked off the top of the Most Played On Xbox Live chart once MW2 was out.
MW2 got number 1 spot, while COD4 followed at 2nd, and Halo 3 at 3rd.
But i still really couldent care for MW2 when i have L4D2.
6 hours is more than 5 isnt it?
Actually there are some new and special missions in coop. The snowmobile races, the stealth coop sections. The Juggernaught onslaughts.
Also I dont lag, and when someone kills me and I check the Killcam it doesnt show any lag at all on their side either.
Also calling me an Idiot wont get you anywhere.
'6 hours is more then 5 isnt it?'
Well this shows how valid and in depth you can analyse a game.
If you post again, I will ignore it.

The campaign was short I'll give you that, But with Multiplayer dude, you need to chill out it's a game, sit back relax and if it's a death review it to see where they were and if it was good give them kudos for the spot.

So, please tell me how did people over look all these faults and give it such good reviews ?
Because despite the many, many faults in the campaign (3.5 hour length, scatter-brained story, etc.), the multiplayer is so good that everything else is unimportant. You seem to be a noob. Noobs never enjoy online FPS games. MW2 has a few flaws in the multiplayer department, but overall it represents the current best as far as fun and balance go.
As ive said before, I feel the mutliplayer is poor and many games such as Resistance 2, Killzone 2, and even GRAW have better mutliplayer as they know what type of FPS they are. MW2 feels confused and in limbo between UT and a realistic shooter due to running around with P90's and knifes, whilst calling in air strikes etc. Also to claim im a noob just shows your a sad kid, so I feel that replying to you is somewhat a waste of time.

My roomate killed the dream that L4D2 was good. =( Wish I had someone who actually tries to get through the level instead of doing the shit he isn't supposed to i.e. setting off every single car alarm in The Parish level...

Modern Warfare 2 is in no way a bad game.

That said, it's not a good game either. It's mediocre all around, with nothing but some minor controversy to make it stand out from "Generic Shooter #27". All in all, disappointingly bland, but not bad.

I think it's a very good FPS. COD hasn't changed fundamentally from the very first one, IMO. People keep coming back to it because of the tweaks that are made that alter the advantages a player has in MP. This is MW1 with some slightly upgraded graphics, and a much deeper leveling system. True, the campaign is short, but what about spec-ops? spec-ops adds at least another three or four hours of gameplay by itself, and much more if you play online. I own a PS3 and have that version. There were a few problems with creating parties for a week or so, but after they upped the bandwidth I've had zero dropped games and far fewer boots. I've heard that PC gamers were really let down this time around.

i think a 9.0 may be a little high in my taste. probably an 8.5 from me. I absolutely DESPISED the story, but the gameplay really is that good. I've played through it 3 times, and its still fun as hell. add a huge multiplayer base and fun spec-ops missions. its a good game

I cannot comment on whether the game is good or not because I haven't played it (and I won't, realistic war games don't appeal to me) but this whole thing screams of being overhyped and underdelivered, much like GTA IV and Halo 3, games I HAVE played.

Both were promoted like the second coming of Jesus and both failed to live up to those lofty expectations. What bothers ME is that games like GTA IV, Halo 3 and MW 2 get disturbingly high review scores while the reviews on games like Dragon Age are a bit more honest. Why is it that the flaws in GTA IV and MW 2 can be ignored but the ones in Dragon Age cannot?

It's the influencing of reviews and hype that I hate the most.

Most of your points just lie in the fact that little British Boys find no way to kill people online other than "Stand in Cornar and weait for prehy dat i can esily KILL and be aewsum" Instead of acctually trying to get into the REAL way of playing CoD, why is this surprising, did we all not play the previous CoD games?

CoD gets away with many things, and just like Nintendo gets away with Mario and Zelda, CoD gets away with a failiure to punish campers, preventing the AI to be so precise with guns and grenades that youd think they dont NEED sniper rifles to off you in about half a second, everyone ignores this because they are so damn addicted to CoD.

The reason MW2 got such high scores from critics can be blamed for 3 reasons.

1.) They were afraid of getting mangled by Call of Duty's large fanbase.
2.) Activison were passing a few dollars under the table.
3.) It's actually a good game...which it is. Although I do agree that it's in no way "the game of the decade" as so many critics are quick to label it as.
The "game of the decade" will always be the game whose publisher is willing to foot magazines and internet reviewers the biggest bribe, and those few genuinely good games that don't have publishers willing to annihilate any sense of integrity they have as a business will get 8.5 if they absolutely spit and polish everything. Why do you think mediocre meh-fests like Halo get declared to be made of diamonds and the secret of life?

Wow, to the OP, I feel bad for you.

I feel really bad that you can't enjoy this game, becauase I find no problem enjoying the multiplayer.

Maybe you should try 3rd person, because that's where this game (to me) really shines. It's really fun to play with a couple friends in some 3rd person.

Even when I don't play that, I have no trouble finding a good room for some Ground War. And I think the # of players is fine considering the size of the maps. This isn't Bad Company, the maps aren't the size of a small continent, they're the size of a city block.

The Escapist Formular: Popular game = Shit game

Modern Warfare 2 is the best selling game of all time. Put 2 and 2 together. It doesn't matter how good the game is, it was going to get hate.

Oh, hold on one sec.. * I place your post in letter format into the ocean* there we go...anything else? because there is still a lot of ocean to fill up, and plenty of opinions that no one cares about.

No one cares that you did not like the game, and no one cares that the game is getting god like reviews. some people like it, some people don't. you may not think its fair that this game gets what it apparently deserves, as do a lot of people. but, it doesn't matter, because people who DO like the game, will still buy it. no matter what me, or you, or anyone says.

okay I'm done ranting.

OP, sorry if this seems like trolling, but it seems like you are just genuinely bad at the game. I have had none of the problems you described. There's the odd bit of lag here and there, but it hardly makes a 'bad' game.

And to all those bitching about bribing reviewers - grow up. Just... grow up.
