MW 2 : Just a bad game ?

So, please tell me how did people over look all these faults and give it such good reviews ?

Because despite the many, many faults in the campaign (3.5 hour length, scatter-brained story, etc.), the multiplayer is so good that everything else is unimportant. You seem to be a noob. Noobs never enjoy online FPS games. MW2 has a few flaws in the multiplayer department, but overall it represents the current best as far as fun and balance go.

I enjoyed this game as much as the last modern warfare. my theory as to why some had some problems was that everyone expected it to blow the last modern warfare away, so they set their expectations WAY HIGH. possibly too high for any game ever. anyways im gonna go play MW2 now. later!

Its pretty much a bad game. It is pretty much locked in for game of the year though, which sucks for good titles like, Assassins Creed II and Borderlands.

had friends recommend it, heard great reviews, bought it campaign has bored and i can barely bother myself to finish it and multiplayer does match up to the first one, MW2 was a big disappointment and now I m just wishing instead of saving up for MW2 I had bought another copy of the first one (my original copy crashed my old computers motherboard) also let me know if im wrong but does the level design not feel like it is as good as the first(cant really speak cause i didnt finish it all)?

I dont know why people are hateing on MW2. MW2 is/was a good game. The story line was short but exciting, the online play is defiantly fun (and if you think helicopters and air strikes are a problem you obviously fail and should stick with your world of warcraft). MW2 is a fusion of COD4 + 5. They took all the good things from both games and squished them together in a nice little package.

I really don't see why 95% of the people on this site hate the game. I played it on the PS3, (wow I just felt your interest in my opinion disintegrate) and it was pretty good. Sure the story was short, but what else would you really expect? I picked up the game to seem a shitload of explosions and kill some terrorists (for AMRRRICA!)and that was it as far as story went.

I could definately understand PC gamers being pissed off about the lack of dedicated servers, but that doesn't really affect the console version to my knowledge. Multiplayer has some balance issues (I remember one guy stockpiled predator missles and then for a minute and a half he just spawn camps my team, and that was a douche baggish move) but that doesn't make it a plain bad game. They call in a helicopter, you reserve a class with a stinger missle. They wait around the corner, start following behind teammates (at least that is how I do it). You obviously didn't like it, and that is fine, but there is the simple matter that your opinion doesn't go for every single person who played the game.

I do think there is an issue with gaming reviews, though. The critics have got to be a bit more critical about what they review. I was satisfied with MW 2, but it really wasn't a 9+, 8 at the very most.

im not sure how true that is, i was more or less expecting a similar experience just with some new scenes, story, and weapons (you know the usual for a sequel or heaven forbid an expansion pack) but I found the story could not suck me in and then when I went to multiplayer combat felt sluggish and unsatisfying, just in general compared to other expensive FPSs not necessarily CoD4, its not ESPECIALLY bad or anything im just sore that it didnt live up to the expensive FPS standard it was marketed and grown in and that it was constantly given such high reviews that I didn't bother doing more research before spending $60

I would agree with that if they had put in a zombie survival mode. Spec Ops just doesn't cut it. It's like, wow IW, either make full Co Op or don't make any at all.

i'm sorry when have there ever been dedicated servers? you must be playing the pc version because call of duty 2 up to now had player host servers and i've hardly had any problem with all those points so you just must suck hope my apache doesn't make you cry to hard

The story was goofy i'll admit but i still loved it

I wasn't a fan of Nazi Zombies I found it really repetitive and boring, from what I have played of Spec Ops though, its really fun and different

I did not think it was a bad game. The campaign is short sure. But it still tells a good story. Multiplayer does not matter that much to me. The gameplay was fun. It wasn't broken or anything. It is very well balanced.

People like the game and people do not like the game. I am one of the people who like it.

I think it's fantastic.

Only things that piss me off are the overpowered air support, the SMGs being shit, and the lag.

I liked the Mp5k, that gun is good if your up close and personal.

OT: If you beat the campaign on regular in 5 hours you didn't care for the story in the first place and rushed through it, I beat it on regular in 9 hours and then on veteran in 12, and then again on hardened to find all the intels. But honestly I don't blame you for hating the online on the PC, it does sound like shit, however it's great on the console. I've been having a blast making up games with my dad in private matches and owning people on multi-player, but to the over powered kill streaks? It's called the stinger, you unlock it pretty quick.

stinger nice lol just wish you could free shoot it i still am trying to get out of the habit of switching when out of ammo i'm fighting 2 people empty my clip and i go for my pistol...oh shit! bam i'm dead

also cold-blooded you unlock that pretty quick too now all those scary harriers and pavelows arn't so terrifying anymore

i enjoyed the campaign and i do agree with the OP when it comes to the gunships, i've been in a match where a guy racked up kills then nuked us. however if you can get that kind of streak i guess you deserve it. game of the decade? no, good game that i will play until it stops snowing? yeah
