Xbox Live never patches glitches.Furburt said:Wow. Thats bad.

Like my PS3 did? Only less blowing up but still plenty of smoke and flames.JWAN said:of course if they force it people will ***** and moan and some peoples xboxes will blow up or something.manaman said:Not everyone updates. But then again I suppose it being on the 360 means they can force it.Furburt said:Wow. Thats bad.

I don't know my boxes are not hooked up to the internet.
Jazzyluv2 said:exploitation of mechanics created some of the deepest gameplay yet. Quakeworlds entire gameplay is now based off an unintentional movement glitch that caused movement to be much more dynamic. Stacking air units in Starcraft made some very deep and mindful tactics that would never be possible without them. Dolphin diving, prone-spam, squad switching, and C4 chucking made for some very exciting matches in BF2 and made the game overall better than after it was patched out. Strafe jumping in Quake 3 made movement much better and game flow alot better. People exploiting glitches is a fundamental example of pushing a game to its limit. And as long as dynamic combat comes from it, a solid counter is found, either through skill or style, then it is acceptable.
PUSH THE GAME BEYOND THE INTENDED LIMITS
The best games of all time were "made" or fleshed out because of this
Starcraft, quakeworld, quake 3, and Street fighter are built on glitches and stay strong to this day.
said in a post i made earlier, but seriously, there are probably reliable counters to it. There were reliable counter to C4 chucking in BF2

If that can be countered, and it was, still a part of the game, Then this jav shit can be countered with ease. This was early on in BF2 when people were still figuring out the game, eventually it was countered with a style shift in competitive players adopting the assualt class, and a heavier emphasis on staying apart from one another during pushes.

Yeah that makes plenty of sense.
That's a nice excuse if you're exploiting, but many people believe it's just as bad. Just because something is there doesn't mean it's okay to exploit it, sorry. If someone positions a product in a store incorrectly where it can be stolen without being noticed is it all of a sudden okay because "THEY" made a mistake by putting it there? NO. You still broke the law.Yodobama said:Wut.
How do you blame someone for using an exploit to win when it's YOUR fault because it was YOU who fucked up?
I do believe there's a fine line between Real Life and Gaming you aren't seeing here.Zing said:That's a nice excuse if you're exploiting, but many people believe it's just as bad. Well at least your not exploiting, but that shit is the lamest. I can top kills doing it with my eyes closed, it's so imbalanced.DoW Lowen said:Some guy did this to me earlier, I reported his ass straight away. I know there's a line, however the example still fits. An exploit is barely "fucking up", it's just something that slipped through the cracks, if you're taking advantage of such a glitch then you have to be prepared for the consequences or don't do it at all.Yodobama said:I do believe there's a fine line between Real Life and Gaming you aren't seeing here.Zing said:That's a nice excuse if you're exploiting, but many people believe it's just as bad. The point is, in a game, if you fuck up, people WILL use it to their advantage, and really, who can blame them?
It's basic human instinct.
But the game sucks and it's full of 12 year olds, so really, who cares?
While I agree it is quite OP sometimes, my Kill/Death Ratio moved from 0.70 to 0.90 in just a few hours. I got bored of "take cover, pop out, shoot, take cover... repeat", whether or not it's broken it's still FUN. Besides much more broken things in the game that easily top that *cough* Akimbo Ranger *cough*Zing said:Well at least your not exploiting, but that shit is the lamest. Very simply, actually, because it isn't a matter of blame. As I've already stated, blame isn't going to solve any problem. The game was released with a bug, just like nearly every other game availible. It doesn't matter who is at fault, what matters is people are breaking the terms of use of the game. Simple as that. The game being released with an exploit cetainly does not give people carte blanch to use the mechanism to ruin the experience of other players who are abiding by the rules.Yodobama said:Wut.

Multiplayer gaming on the PC has always had exploits and glitches that once found would be patched, you can't expect the devs to spot everything.dududf said:SantoUno said:dududf said:So...they are banning players...for using a glitch...When it's the devs fault that the glitch even exists...
Yeah that makes plenty of sense. But if people exploit them to their advantage they deserve to be punished as well for ruining the game for others by using glitches of that sort.ColdStorage said:Not really, the glitch wasn't part of the intended programming, and the glitch offers a huge advantage to those who know how to exploit it.dududf said:When it's the devs fault that the glitch even exists...
When a gamer figures out a workaround to what the game devs had in mind, then that is clever and the game designers themselves think it cool, a bug that wasn't spotted used as an advantage?, not cool.Too all three of you, you seem to forget that if they didn't test it out first AND LOOK for glitches before release, then they didn't do their job.MetallicaRulez0 said:The information has been out there that bans will be handed out for exploiting this since it became a known glitch. If you don't care enough to read that information while you basically grief everyone in your games, well sucks to be you. I wish they were handing out permanent bans, this glitch is just ridiculous sometimes.dududf said:So...they are banning players...for using a glitch...When it's the devs fault that the glitch even exists...
Yeah that makes plenty of sense.
And now that it's known, you FIX THE BUG, not ban people for being tempted by it.
Or is that just so impractical for gamers to conceive, that the devs fix the game that they released.
