MW3: I couldn't care less

Is it wrong that I couldn't care less about MW3? I know that the game claims to be "The most anticipated game IN HISTORY" (bullshit!)but i really don't care. I kind of hope this game is REALLY bad so we can stop getting these samey-boring modern warefare shooters and start getting shooters like Blood or, hell even Bulletstorm was better.

Well, allow me to be the first to welcome you back from the huge rock you've apparently been living under.

OT: I'm not excited about it or anything, but the Call of Duty games have always been my 'go to' multiplayer shooter of choice, so I'll probably pick it up at some point.

I don't care about it in the sense that I'm not going to buy it. But I DO acknowledge and even have some slight respect for the fanbase. The people looking forward to MW3 are no different than the people who are looking forward to something like Skyrim (even if they don't want to admit it)

So yeah...I'm not getting it, I'm not associating with it, but I get its significance.

the new Bioshock on the other hand...THAT'S an FPS I'm looking forward to

There isn't any deep or personal reason that I myself don't give a shit about MW3, I just don't. I could go on about the constant need for an explosion near your character to knock you on your back with that god damn ringing sound in your ears but it isn't even that, I just don't fucking care.

It's a multiplayer based FPS with no grounds of physics and a community flooded with whiny kids that do nothing but sit around and give people a reason to blame violence on video games.

Personally? I hope the entire competitive FPS concept is skinned alive and dies in a fire, but that's just me. Some people out there have a dying fetish, more power to em.

The problem is that, "Game connisuer who doesn't care about Call of Duty and wishes it would go away" is by this point more of a hackneyed cliche then Modern Warfare. At least Modern Warfare has polish.

You don't have to like the game. You don't have to buy it, or care. However, end of the day, millions of people enjoy the shit out of it, and so by any sane definition, it is a very good game. There's a reason why a lot of different games get made. People like different things.

That was 2? Damn, my mind is mush... yeah the Spec Ops. The fights in the parking lots and fast food places were hours of fun.

Yup that was MW2 and I agree, it was a lot of fun. I am really excited for the Spec-Ops/survival in MW3.

Lastly, I hate to break this to you, but, like it or not, it probably really is the most anticipated game in history. It's going to sell like nobody's business and will receive a reasonable critical reception as well.

That's not a sane definition of a good game. because a lot of people like something does not make it good. Millions of people like Twighlight or Justin Beiber, and those are horrible. No, a good game has a well written story, great characters, fun and enticing gameplay, and a lasting appeal in both single and multiplayer. the COD franchise hasn't had any of that for me since MW1

Congratulations on holding an opinion about something.

Also to say you hope the game is bad is a disservice to the people who will like it, as a gamer you should just embrace the fact that other people out there enjoy your hobby regardless of the title.
As a former Call of Duty: Modern Warfare tournament player I'm unhappy with how the series has progressed but I'm not going to tell others that I hope the game is bad just because it doesn't match my standards.
