I believe most of the hate is more towards CoD4 and 6 players more so than XBL in general. Most games have decent gaming communities (L4D, l4D2, Bioshock2, etc) but there tends to be a lot of irritating individuals on the ModernWarfare games.
Too true. Modern Warefare 2 has the most annoying people you will ever meet
Yup its great, it means all the games I like only have mostly cool people because all the MW2 has most of the annoying people.
Right again, Gears of war 2 multiplayer has never been better and you only get annoying kids in bad company 2 every now and then
If I really liked MW2 online and wanted to play it I'd probably be really annoyed with all the idiots on it but as it stands its great. I'm tempted to buy BadCompany2 but I'm not sure whats it like; is the single player good? ('cause I can't actually afford XBL right now, have to go without for a few weeks)
The single player is decent(better than the last one at least)and it is fun blowing up entire buildings instead of just the walls. There are some annoying parts though.
But like all battlefield the multiplayer is the highlight of the game.
So on a scale of one to ten; One being the multiplayer in Condemed2 (worst multiplayer ever created) and 10 being TimCurry*, how would you rate the multiplayer in BBC2?

*Tim Curry being the most brilliant villain-actor ever and therefore representing awesomeness on this rating system.
I'd give it a 8 because, 1 you cant compare with Tim Curry and 2 there is the famous battlefield spawn killing to deal with. But even with all that its still a pretty awesome game after they fixed the lag servers
[sighs... Spawn killing, it has been a problem since way back when I played CoD and Halo:CE on dial-up internet. The existence of spawn killing really brings down online FPS games and yet they still fail to do much about fixing it.
I want a game that spawns you out of the battlemap and you choose the way you enter, which will make spawn killing near impossible.
But badcompany2 made a step forward, In the begining of a match of rush the attackers spawn is off-limits to the defenders under penalty of getting their ass blown off by artillery.
I remember back in the day when I was a pure PCgamer playing Cod and there was a mod that almost everyone started using where spawn killing turned you into a burner cow and counted as three suicides, needless to say spawn killing died down quickly after that, unfortunately we can't get mods like that on X-box because of the lack of user created content access.
I want that mod...
But I can understand some spawn killing like if im running around and an enemy spawns in front of me I will kill him and move on because he would kill me if I didnt.
That is the reason I can understand it happening once, But the one thing that does annoy me is when the enemy is mapping my team. That is just unfair in all ways.
Thats why we need large complex levels with intuitive entry point spawning and to give me the power to instantly kill people I don't like... trust me its for the good of everyone.
I remember on a PC game I was given the administrater title and was able to ban people from anywhere between 1 day and 5 months. As soon as I got the title I randomly joined games and banned unfair players from both sides. I feel like I did my job because that game became better within a week.
'Nice one. I have only had admin powers very few time but I've always been very fair, I have a system;

Three Steps:
1) Warning.
2) Warning and punishment.
3) Total permanent Ban.

The severity of number2 varies depending on the infringement, generally a temporary ban of some length suffices. If some hasn't smartened up by 3 then they will never smarten up.
I gave them a warning before and I actually used team chat to warn the players on my team but they just didnt stop. But I never was able to permanently ban someone. I believe in second chances and after banning certain people muliple times they started to learn their lesson.
I developed my system after growing sick of re-offenders who had seemed to have learned their lesson but then did the exact same dumb thing all over again.
Also I'm somewhat OCD and really like the number 3.
Its not that I didnt want to permanently ban them, Its just they bought the game and because they enjoy it enough to play it constantly and I never could bring myself to ban someone who loves the game like I do.

Hating Xbox live is like hating the public for who they are and what it is.
Total nonsense.

Yes, you will find trolls. Yes, you will find super pros that will eat you 20 times over.
Yes, you will find noobs on your team but none on the other.

But it all is the Xbox live experience. It all can't be stars and sunshine.

I've had Xbox Live for about 5 years. When I first got it the only game I'd played online was Counter Strike since I didn't really have a very good PC back then.

But even back then the Xbox Live "Community" just argued and argued and argued. If it wasn't Brits v Americans, it was English v Welsh, Northerner v Southerner etc.

Since my third 360 has RROD'ed now I've sort of just given up entirely with it. I mainly only stayed with it because my friends have 360's too but really that's the only good thing I personally find with XBL.

If they loved it like you did they would have treated it and their fellow players properly and would also have stopped doing wrong the moment you mention banning them from the game because they wouldn't have wanted to be banned fro ma game the love.

(This quotequotequote, etc is getting very long, maybe we should move it to private messaging so as not to further clutter the thread.)

I said that is why I couldent permanently ban them but I still could ban them for 5 months and then do it again the day they got back if they didnt change their methods. I kept a list of who I banned, for how long, and the day they would be allowed to play again.

Agreed this is getting to long.

My 2-step program to keep online gaming fun;

1: Regularly check to see which game is currently the most popular multiplayer game.
2: Don't play those games with anyone but your friends, ever.

I've yet to find a good online gaming community, why I don't even bother and online is not a feature to me. Rather just go to my friends place.

I use this as an example to why I don't really care much for the Xbox Live community.
Most of those guy kinda proved that they have homosexual tendencies of their own, while trying to hate on it.Isn't that a paradox or something like that?

OT:Look at the video above. It can tell you a lot.
And I have only once played on X-Box live, and I was constantly called a ******,homo, piece of shit and other things. And that was all from only about 14 minutes of playing. And I was being TK'ed all the time, and yet I was dominating out teams roster.

Wow, I can understand why you have only played it once.

So why all the hate on xbox live?
Well, you aren't going to get the full experience from playing only 5 hours, you must understand that. It could go either way, the only way you're going to experience it the way others are is if you play it for a long amount of time.

I played it myself, when a mate lent me his console for a weekend. It was MW and Halo, so it wasn't the best. Lots of arrogance, lots of annoying people. Wasn't all bad, of course, but the bad bits stuck out. Namely one extremely racist guy who wouldn't shut up on a game of MW.
Oh dear God, I've seen that.
A f*cking KIWI letting loose a barrage of vulgarity towards a japanese man living in america who spoke said kiwi's language better than the kiwi himself, telling him that if he ever saw him in his country he would beat the sh*t out of him (Or something similar) and eventually I reported him for racist vulgarity and then for the sake of balance subtly let him know that the Japanese fellow was not likely to migrate to New Zealand because it was full of sheep molesting sh*theads like himself and that one of its primary exports was very literally people.

All for the sake of balance.
Apparently I'm still to expect six hundred complaints filed against my gamertag from various members of the clan he owns.
I have yet to see any evidence of said clan after six months.
I may have been trolled actually, but I doubt it.

And recently I won in a game of ninjaball in halo on some social playlist with my cousin as guest by like 50 points with a k/d spread of positive ten and at the end of the game some random accused me of having an anticompetitive agreement with my guest in which he assists me in my victory (Paraphrased slightly).
My cousin had played Halo on two occasions before.
Neither or which occurred this year.
I personally hadn't played Halo in four months.
Palm is applied to face.

Way to make us feel loved.

Steam and PSN.

I'd like to end there, but the moderators would probably cut my balls off. I prefer the games that are available to play on both platforms over XBL and the community is slightly better (keyword being slightly).

In my first total 24 hours of online gaming in the community of the PSN:

I met only one pre-teen/teen kid with a microphone out of my three games below.
In Soul Calibur IV, people gave me tips, complemented me on my wins, I made four friends almost instantly.
In Killzone 2, I made about another six friends. Teamwork was used in almost every match. I stayed with the same squad for several hours. Win or lose, we had fun.
In Uncharted 2, laughs were passed left and right. Even when I was the only one alive and I died, they still treated me like a human being.

There are less kids on the PSN because parents didn't want to spend the extra on a PS3. So, they got the next best thing. In fact, my parents said they would have done the same thing but I said I'd rather have the Wii over a 360 so my wish was granted.

And if anyone dare quotes me on saying the "XBL community is more fun! It's why we like to sing randomly!" Then are you for real? You must be a very lonely and single person IRL.

Maturity is a must. Being able to handle vulgar language. Working together as a team is grand and fun.

I recently bought MAG but I have yet to try it. I hear that a bit of times, people don't like to work together, but who knows.

I agree the PS3 players seem more mature than the xbox 360 players.
MAG is fun, just try to have some friends on your team.
It helps.
