I use this as an example to why I don't really care much for the Xbox Live community.
There is such a thing as provoking people to react a certain way.

If I was to make a thread on these forums saying "Portal players can suck off a big one because the game is ghey!!" I guarantee you I'd get some hostile feedback before the thread would get shut down.

Now if these forums had no Mods imagine the type of feedback I'd be getting...lol

As for that vid there from what I can tell the guy dressed in pink and tagged himself as gayboy, and probably spent a couple game sessions doing his best "priscilla queen of the desert" impressions to get that type of reaction...0o

4 out of 5 times when I had my mic on, no one said anything at all. That one other time someone did say something, half the time it was strategic stuff, a quarter of the time it was stuff like "oh cool I got headshot", and the last quarter of the time it was young kids screaming nonsense. This was playing a game called Call of Duty, so think what you want.

XBL isn't as bad as people portray. As long as you don't go out and provoke people, most will just play the game as it should be played. If your screen name is "ITakeItUpTheButt", then yes, you'll more often than not get hecklers.

My first five hours consisted of me having to endure a pompous asshole inform me of how to play GOW "properly". Fortunately my internet connection wasn't all that and half the time I couldn't hear him critiquing my game play. Not to mention, my headset 'mysteriously' didn't work.

Of late I don't play online unless it's with people I know as I got tired of the pre-pubescent boys asking me to show them my bewbs and/or them trying to sext me. Very creepy.

I don't really have a problem with xBox Live, but that's because I mute everyone and I never use a mic. Sure, some of the players I run into are annoying, but that's very rare, since that's just game play. Most of the time, I'm just annoyed with myself and my level of suck at some of the games. :/

My friend, on the other hand, cusses at almost everyone (thankfully he doesn't have a mic), and he spends most of the games getting annoyed with the people that sound like they're twelve years old. At least, that's what he claims. I think he's over-reacting just a little.

Everybody loves Xbox Live deep down.

If they say they don't then they either want to sound cool by acting as if Xbox Live is for people that are stupid, and they are too good for it. Or they are just trying to make their preferred consol sound better.

If you don't like the people on Live then mute them, that's all there is too it.

I quite enjoy xbox live. Sure, there are annoying people on XBL, but you can always mute them. There are some interesting people there and once you find them it makes things alot more fun.
