So me and my gf got into a really bad argument recently about the fact that i still have a low self esteem and outlook of myself (i firmly believe that i have the self esteem of a toaster and the charisma of a half eaten bagel). So out of nowhere she made this bet with me. She's making my half of the relationship "open", meaning i can go out and meet other chicks. Why? To apparently prove what she says is true as far as my looks/heart.
Considering i have a low self esteem that drives my boyfriend up the wall and causes him to "flick" me everytime i say something like "i look ugly" but i don't see him giving me an open relationship to prove other wise. If you were smart you wouldn't need that deal. Instead you should be able to have girls asking you out anyway and turn them down. I get tonnes of lads asking me out but you don't hear me saying yes to them all just so that i know im goodlooking (urgh) and "popular". I really don't think my boyfriend would appreciate me purposly going out with them just so as to prove his point that im "sexy".

This is how i know he wouldn't like it:

Its one of those; "I'll let you do it and rip your friggen heart out for it later" deals.

Watch your back.
And yes i agree on this also because if he dared it (which he doesn't need to) then i would claw his eyes out and stamp on his pride.
funny, she used to flick me, then punch me in the arm, then tickle me, then pinch me everytime i disagreed with her as far as my looks. then it turned into arguing. then the bet was made

*squirms as a creature on my right tickles me, punches me in the arm and pinches me*

Thanks. You have now given my lad more tricks to use on me... *groans*

I'd personally just take the route out now if I were in your shoes. What good can come of this? If you have an issue with self esteem, isn't working it out with your girlfriend by being more social & achknowledging that whatever you look like isn't something you should care about. You look to improving your charisma then get out more often, drag your friends with you and just find somewhere you believe you have an advantage such as interesting knowledge about the place/area/person, or a skill (if you're doing an activity).
Can I recomend joining a gym? Not only do you improve your own physical fitness and improving what you think of your image, but there's always other members/trainers who are good to talk to who you can see with some frequency. Believe me it's a worth at least having a look at.

And have you thought about the girl? The one your meant to be chatting up doesn't know that she is only being chatted up for a bet, why should she deserve that when she could really like you? Then there's the chance you carry it on after the bet and you end up cheating on your girlfriend. Why should she deserve to be led on to just satisfy a bet? If you crap as it is, then why make her feel worse when she learns it's a sham.

This, I mean, come on, you must have some degree of charisma and self esteem.

Sounds crazy to me. I hate crazy girls.

I wouldn't accept the bet in the first place. It just sounds extremely asinine.

This is a tricky bet and I don't think it will be good for your relationship.
Imo,I don't think she has the right to doubt of how manly u are,if I was in your position I'll be offended. There are other ways to show her what kind of man u are...So be yourself, make your own terms and show her... ;)

Slap yourself, wake up and start taking care of your relationship. If you ARE as terrible as you say , then consider yourself lucky you have a girflriend and stop messing with her.

U sound like my gf lol, thats what I do. Well its more of a slap. On the arse. Or a grope. But hey, thats life.

OP

Like everyone else has said, u must have had these things to get this girl in the first place, and, for that matter, all ur mental ***** ex's, if thats what they were. i think u said they were mental.

I would do one of 2 things my friend, either call off the bet and admit she's right (crazy i know =P), or purposefully lose, getting her to fix ur truck.

This isnt the way to prove confidence or self esteem.

And im not saying u dont love her, but if u loved her, u would have never agreed to the bet.

Go for it. Nothing better at improving self esteem than getting off with a load of girls or being offered head.
