That's an open letter to the brony community from a concerned brony, and I have to say, it's a good read.
It moved me a bit, and I agree with everything he said, so I'm trying to pass on his message and hard work.
It's a long read, but I assure you, it's well worth it.

Thanks for posting that, what a great read. I think he is one very brave brony to reveal that much about himself and willingly open himself up for attack from trolls. Although I expect the sheer amount of tollerance in that letter will deter many.

I've only really accepted the brony fandom in the last week so I can't really comment on it. However I am also a furry and when I first ventured into the various furry communities I was also overwhelmed by the friendliness and acceptance of that fandom too. Furries are constantly bashed as being gay, animal abusing freaks so it's all about taking the rough with the smooth there too. But this guy speaks so much truth and I think EVERYONE can learn from it, especially the trolls. Shame on them.

It's odd because I love MLP:FiM for what it is, charming, funny and just outright innocent. But these are the very qualities that the trolls use as reasons to insult us. Well, if the best thing they can use against us are the very positive qualities that we enjoy, then I say let them try to hurt us, because in the end they're only making themselves look idiotic. I mean come on, who doesn't like charming, colourful things? I defy anyone to watch "Winter wrap up" and not get a warm fuzzy feeling, seriously, you're dead inside if even that doesn't cheer you up.

I'm not a Brony. All that letter/post makes me want to say, almost apologetically, is 'Welcome to the internet, this is nothing new' but I imagine the way he's exposed himself is going to invite that lesson to his doorstop all too quickly.

What the internet has taught me is that when you're on the outside of a joke, its hard to tell.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if you guys were all just trolling. I watched like, ten minutes of the first episode and said; fuck this, not to my tastes.

The staggering amount of people who spam images and have avatars from this show suggests to me that its not just a show people like. People like lots of shows. I don't see anyone carrying on about 'Bones' this fervently.
