My PS3 was Stolen!

That sucks, dude. =( At least they didn't nick the PC, though. Burglars always seem to take weird shit.

My house was robbed when I was eight, and they stole my cello and keyboard. The cello wasn't even mine - it was the schools. Suffice it to say, I never leave my strat anywhere in plain sight.

Hopefully they'll be able to track it down. A friend of mine had his Xbox 360 stolen once and was able to use the serial number to locate it when it logged in to Xbox Live. So it does work. Hope it turns out well for you.

A playstation is easier to get away with. Ever tried making a hasty getaway with a PC in your arms? It can't be done.

Oh and they didn't touch none of my game collection. I have about 6 PS3 games and 10 bluray movies. Oh and I have a Nintendo Wii which is right next to the PS3, which was undisturbed.

Any thief worth half his salt would have taken the games. Sounds like these guys just picked up the most expensive looking item on his desk that they saw and got out of there. A PS3 looks more expensive than a Wii at any rate. If I was burgling my room I'd check my desk drawer for cash too and I'd find a couple hundred bucks. It's not an unusual place to keep it, but it is a stupid place to keep it. This whole thing makes me nervous because my bedroom has an expensive PC, a whole bunch of expensive peripherals, a 360, games for PC, PS3 and 360 all lined up neatly on my desk, a laptop and depending on when and where it might have a phone, wallet and MP4 player. Not to mention the aforementioned cash in the draw. Talk about leaving all your eggs in one basket. This room could be robbed without even disturbing people in the house because the house is spread across a large section on one level. Bad luck on the robbery though. Will insurance cover it?

Perhaps these guys weren't feeling ambitious enough to take anything more than a straight PS3 with controller and headset that they can pass off as mint and sell for a quick buck. Maybe they thought selling the games would be more trouble than it's worth. Sounds like a sloppy robbery to me and this guy has a good chance of being caught, if not for this break-in then for a later one.
