I also get the distinct sense that whoever made this video, hasn't finished it yet. There seem to be a couple of foley effects missing, and it even says on screen that the character's audio is not in place.

We'll keep an eye on it, for we are the Escapist. We see.

Then again the Character Audio thing could be a reference to Gordon's muteness

Hmm...I'm pretty sure it isn't Gordon in the video, though.

The only clue appears to be "READ FAST". I can't find anything else, or how this fits, but i hope this helps.

This is very interesting. I really don't know what to make of it. I don't think it's an advert for any type of appliance, to many different brands for that. Also, it's not amateur made, that?s fairly obvious, but apart from that I'm not sure.

Valve music is usually a mix of Rock Techno. This seems more something that John Williams would do.

Maybe its just an indie film.

But maybe they thought using the Half-Life music would have been too obvious? As if the Combine noises weren't already a dead giveaway...

Yeah but if this was a real Valve production the music would sound alot more like Kelly Bailey creations and not Ochestrations ala John Williams.

And not to sound a downer but the whole Babel thing is something that Laidlaw would add to an already overcomplicated story.

We already have Black Mesa and Aperture Science as big mysterious companys. One more would be (i think) overkill. Also the Combine Overwatch voice in backround doesnt add up, and the fact that the Overwatch calls those combine troops Civil Protection. (Civil Protection are human beings that went trough the first stage of combinevolution(?) willingly.)

very probably is the portal storms and the 7 year war. I'm thinking that some Aperture Science experiment went horribly wrong and caused the portal storms that brought the Combine to earth (this could be the same experiment that caused the Borealis to become lost, as it's hinted at the end of HL2 episode 2 that the ship housed technology capable of causing such a catastrophe), which could make this Portal 2 and a prequel to Portal while an interquel to HL1 and HL2.

Or it could be a phone commercial.

No the portal storms were always hinted cause of Black Mesa.

The story goes that Black Mesa and Aperture Science were running for funds and both were working on portal technology. While AS was working on small portals like the Portal Gun (open a portal here and another over there and you have a link betewen both.) While BM was working on a Portal that would enable traveling over great distances.

In the acident of BM when the everything goes haywire the thing that kept everything together was completly destroyed and portals started to open everywhere. First in BM and then spreaded out to the rest of the world. Alyx says that the Portal Storms never disapered entirely just calmed down due to Combine technology keeping it under control. And it is 7 hour war. Earth surrended in 7 hours after the first Combine assault.

Edit: Its a bit long to a phone commercial...that and to prove that when you need phones are useless. Or they have dead batteries or when you find one you are discovered by the evil dudes.
