Rederick and Indraj Alika - Grand Ajivha

As time went on and Ajivha went back to its business little of the Aetherial Collective or their Nomadic Kin were seen within the borders of the Grand city. On the second month of the new year, three men suddenly and without warning appeared outside the Gates of the palace. Two men hooded and carrying large wooden boxes, and the third a man recognized for his presence in the city during the Civil War. A man simply named Rederick. As guards came to question them, he asked for an Audience with Indraj Alika.

Once the men's identities were established, they were quickly summoned to the Palace of Grand Ajivha, where the King waited to meet them.

"It is an honour, as always," he greeted Rederick and the others as they entered, "the help you provided in the forty first year has not been forgotten,"

"It's an honour to help," Rederick smiled as he began to speak, "This city and its people go through far more than it deserves." Rederick flicked his wrist slightly and the two men that had came with him lowered the boxes to the ground "While I would like to claim that I've come today socially. I've come to ask for your peoples help. A project that we have been working on for the past ten years has reached a point where we have realized that we cannot complete it alone."

"Tell me more about this project," Indraj replied with interest.

"Well," Rederick paused in thought for a few seconds, "It's similar in nature to the ships that we have begun to manufacture but on a much grander scale. It's an island. One that will be able to fly with the clouds and above them." He smiled a bit brighter "As it has been drawn it will be as wide and as tall as the city."

"It sounds like a dream," the King replied with a laugh, "A pleasant one though. If we were to offer our assistance, would you share the technology with the rest of Ajivha?"

"If you were to help, We can share most of it yes." Rederick replied "Though with what we have and what we think we'll have by then, Gangari has told us that he'll be needed to make something of its size work. Our magics simply aren't strong enough to lift it and it'd likely tear itself apart before it left the ground."

"Of course, I doubt we'll be building any flying cities soon," Indraj smiled, "What do you need our help with precisely?"

"We require workers and land." Rederick replied, "We have plans for a suitable drydock and the farms and houses needed to sustain the work drawn up for an already wasted part of the desert to the south. Our marshes are too wet and things grow too fast to accomplish anything of this size there. As for the workers, we simply don't have enough labourers for the work required. Most of it can be grown directly from our metals but the runitry among other things needs skilled hands. Without the infrastructure of the city the time required would more than double."

"We have much land and many workers, among them migrant halflings and even some luug who come down this far south looking for employment," the King nodded, "You have my blessing to rent a county to the south of Grand Ajivha for the duration of your work. The exact sums will have to be decided later."

"Okay," Rederick smiled, "We can agree to that." Rederick gripped his hands together, "Until then, we have a gift for you and we have the plans if you would like to look them over." The two men beside him opened their boxes. One was filled with scrolls, the other held a pair of intricately crafted wings made of the silver metal of the university. The man lifted the wings from the box and held them out Indraj.

Indraj took the wings with a curious expression on his face and held them close, studying them carefully with the hands that had once worked as a blacksmith's apprentice.

"Do these actually fly?" he asked Rederick.

"Of course," Rederick continued smiling "As well as a bird."

"Incredible," the King breathed, "The wonders of modern technology, I must try these right away!"

Rederick looked on smiling for a few moments before speaking "Wait." He looked at the man that pulled it from the crate and the man in a panicked manner looked down into the box and pulled a leather harness with metal studs on it back from it. The man quickly held it out before regaining his composure. Rederick then continued smiling "You'll likely need that to wear them. They need something to attach to."

"Of course," Indraj exclaimed as he strapped on the wings and walked out into the palace courtyard, taking off unsteadily with a shout.

Gangari - Highcrag - 17/21 AP

Gangari stood in the large chamber carved in the mountain, staring at the gagged and bound creature before him. After he had learned the ***** was still alive he had began to come here to think.

His children had been dragged into war twice now, Righteous men were being killed for doing their duty, Aurora was already priming to tear itself apart again, the Grat were primed to commit Genocide, and the Luug... He couldn't be everywhere and Lysei had grown distant from the concerns of mortals as far as he could tell.

Indraj had a family, The Tabula Rasa knew little beyond death, Ashlif had become almost sociopathic after the sacking, and there were never enough Justiciars to carry out their task on the scale it needed to be. Something needed to be done...

The chain on the other side of the room jangled slightly and Gangari had come out of his thoughts. He had never actually spoken to the Creature. Cyth'rauls whore. He had kept her fed and hydrated, she hadn't earned the right to die with how she forsook it. But he had never told her why he hated her so or let her speak. She didn't deserve a voice after what she had used it for. The room had been sealed until the end of time and everything that she had put in place to hide herself he destroyed.

She would never die again. She would never speak again. She would never see another creature besides him again. And the chains and the ropes would keep digging into her rocky flesh. And she would feel pain and she would come to understand just how much he had come to hate her.

Jubal - Aetherial Collective Government District

The man known as Jubal sat tired in his home reading the months reports.

New recruits had been received during the past few months, fresh men and women for the orders making their society. After the interrogations by the inquisition that was finally able to do its job, they were trained and sent to expand territory to the north east and the south west by clearing land and establishing two new quarters.

Rails were built within the new merchants quarter or foreign quarter as some called it due to its purpose being almost entirely to cater to foreign caravans in the new Ajivhan standard. These lands were now connecting them to the rail network that they had needed to shoot men to stop it from expanding through them last year. It all seemed so pointless now. Men shot to stop something. Men raised from the dead. Something happens anyway.

Earlier in the month the legion had returned with few deaths amongst them. The city had been taken with little actual bloodshed apparently. The new rockets had been almost flawlessly successful as the stories were going and new kinds were being developed alongside different recipes of the gas weapon that had been used in the originals. Such a brutal thing their god had given them, running men through a month long disease in less than an hour but if it saved their lives in the end then it was the kind thing to do.

And then there was Khyber, he had been told he was to be shot. A sad turn of events, he had come to like the man and it was disheartening to learn that he was to be executed for doing his duty.

The return of the legion brought another thing beside news. An influx of Krakari weapons entered their stockpile. Things that had been bought, looted, and given as gifts had not only provided a higher standard of armament for the soldiers, it had given their weapon makers fresh ides for the future. Rifled barrels, cartridge ammunition, repeat firings, pistols, grenades... Things to keep them in lockstep with the rest of the world. And beside them the gatling guns that the Krakari had promised them were being mounted on the growing fleet of sky ships maintained by the legion, granting them unquestionable supremacy over the skies.

New administrative techniques were being implemented as he had heard: professional merchantry, resource management plans, archives of papers detailing every single one of their members, signed papers for workers, military plans...

And amongst all of this, something new, something different. There was news that vampires had been found amongst members of the militia. Apparently having been bit during the first battle of Saranda, they tried to hide their conditions. Inquisitors had them moved underground in a prison of some sort until it was determined how to treat them he had been told. It likely wouldn't be long until they were drafted into something.

After he had finished drafting his orders in Lord Rederick's name he received a letter from the Krakari. They wanted to learn beside them. Medicine, weapons, sciences... And something about cities in the east and south. He refreshed his ink and began to draft a response.

Long days and long night were ahead of him again.

Aetherial Collective

The final month of spring was busy for the Collective, signing a research treaty with the Krakari Republic and also implementing Rotary Printing Presses. Preparation were also made for the construction of their flying city, with territory and population loaned from Ajivha and a pair of successful researches done into High Altitude Living and High Altitude Agriculture.

Aurora

Aurora expanded to the south of Mereton, ensuring the nearby coastline was secure. Furthermore, a fourth great wall was built within the isle of Maia to protect the capital Nova Verde and a new elite unit was founded: the monastic Order of Lyseria.

Grat Shee

The Grat Shee ended the season with a spat of research, successfully researching laboratories, luug spawning pools and acid, along with implementing settling packs. Research into exploding arrows failed however after an unfortunate accident involving gunpowder.

Krakari Republic

With an eye on future expansion, the Krakari settled the bay area to the south-east. At the same time, the printing press was fully implemented along with encouraged worship of Gangari and a Krarkari/Collective Research agreement. The basics of electricity were also successfully researched by Krakari scientists.

Gods

Gangari

With anger in his heart, Gangari granted immorality to Jugaan, ensuring she would remain trapped alive and in agonising pain in her underground tomb for as long as he remained in existence.

Lysei

Returning from a period of being more forgiving, Lysei began to wreak vengeance on those who had attempted to wipe out the Driders by the creation of his shadow. The dark shape would kidnap those who had especially done wrong in the fire god's eyes and take them to the isle of Avagarde, where they would meet a torturous demise.

Emperor Maximus I, Commonwealth of Aurora

Another twenty five years passed like a blur for Emperor Maximus and the rest of Aurora. The period saw the final passing of his grandfather's generation as first the ex-High Priest Ramous died peacefully in his sleep, then Defence Minister Lord Omar and Prince Hwan the Elder shortly afterwards. All three of Kaius' widows suffered unfortunate fates too, Queen Prima succumbed after a fight of several years against cancer whilst Duronia died suddenly of a seasonal malady. Few spoke of it but it was widely known that Fabia committed suicide after she was caught committing adultery behind the back of her second husband.

Not all was grim in family life however. Young Aurelius grew into a renowned prince in time and took full-time residence in Oilean Uisce, where he ruled along with the council and an aged Ker-Hai. He married twice and with a string of concubines, soon produced a gaggle of grandchildren for the Emperor, the next generation of the House of Verde. Maximus' daughter Maria too ended up happily married to Indraj-Andha, the eldest son and heir to King Indraj-Alika, a relief to both families since they had been betrothed since infancy. Julius seemed repentant for the part he played the Olin coup and since the revelations of his parentage from that time could not be undone, he was eventually officially recognised by the Imperial Court as a son of Kaius and therefore entitled to be a prince. A dukedom remained beyond his reach however, as did any male heirs, it was widely rumoured that his poor performance in the bedroom was to blame.

The great success story of the generation was the integration of the halflings in Aurora. Although originally conquered by force, the able rule of Ver-Jie proved popular and without the need to constantly defend his reign from challengers as was traditional for Ray-Das monarchs, stability was assured. The promised referendum by the Emperor in seven hundred and forty two on the King's rule passed with a large majority and in time, the island of Oilean Uisce grew closer to their continental brethren, both flourishing under renewed trade with the rest of the Commonwealth and the world.

Whilst the Ajivhan and Meretonian components of Aurora also came closer together and integrated with the longer established human ethnicities of the nation as might be expected, the Luug of the Deep Tribes had a more fractious relationship with the Imperial Government. Repeated unrest lead to rioting and an attempted overthrow of Keplar in the year seven hundred and forty nine, the rapid intervention of the Ajivhan and Padonian armies quickly put the insurrection to an end and reinstated the Lord Supreme's rule across the Free State. Several years later three communities in the north-west attempted to secede from Aurora by refusing to pay taxes and tribute to the Emperor, rather than use force Maximus ordered an embargo of the area and within five months their surrender was accepted as they quickly realised their land was not enough to survive on.

For the following decade, the mountains quietened down and it's inhabitants seemed to accept their fate as part of the Commonwealth. The economy stabilised and Keplar's grip on power tightened again. Just as the Imperial Government was beginning to turn away however, suddenly everything changed.

Plaas, Construction site, southern Ajivha

With so many countless Ajivhans, Collective organisers and migrant workers moving around the construction site for the flying city in the south of Ajivha, few noticed a horse and cart laden with wooden crates arriving from the west.

Plaas was glad to be at this particular site, in-fact he had volunteered. Though he held a hatred for many deities, the Lysei's of the world who didn't seem to care in the slightest about the Luug or the Quatog's who vanished into thin air without warning, Gangari was the one who really made his blood boil. The slayer of Cyth'raul, or so the priests said, the one who had abandoned the Deep Tribes in their hour of need and instead let the Grat and the Aurorans wash over them, the one who broke his oath to help the Luug reattain their independence a generation ago. There was not much a mere mortal could do to strike a god but he was willing to do his part.

He knew that if all had gone to plan, he would have a dozen counterparts across Aurora. One in each of the regional capitals of the major provinces, and one in Nova Verde, all rigged to cause instant devastation. Steam explosives stolen from the Auroran military would now be turned against them, the irony made Plaas chuckle.

"Halt, who goes there?" a swarthy Ajivhan called as he walked up to the horse and cart. Plaas looked around, he was close enough to the centre to hit his target. He took a rocky breath, it was the moment he'd been waiting for all his life, martyrdom for his people. The Luug hoped that the rumours about a paradise in which Cyth'raul still dwelt were true but he was willing to do this final act regardless.

"Call us... the Luug Resistance Army," he grunted as he pressed the lever hidden beside him and at once was blown to smithereens, as was the unfortunate guard who met him and many of the surrounding workers who barely even noticed their fate before it blew them off their feet. As horrified builders gathered around the smouldering crater made by the late Plaas, gears and twisted pieces of metal scattered along with fragments of rock and bloody flesh, few realised how far-reaching this small act would eventually be.

Add new perk due to cultural development - due to resurgent nationalist feelings in Aurora over a generation and security fears about the Luug, Fortress Aurora perk:

Fortress Aurora:

Description: In times of national emergency, ordinary Aurorans will take anything they can find to hand and come fight to protect their homeland.

Practical effect: The perk can be activated at will when any Auroran territory is under attack, during which all +Defence bonuses applied are doubled due to the general populace coming to fight. A point of population is lost for every turn the perk is active, however, for every invading army it is used against.

Also due to changes in religiosity and population growth, adjust Auroran worship to 68 for Lysei, 20 for Gangari.

Grat Shee

The next 25 years passed bringing many changes for those who lived through them. Chief of chiefs Sharo passed while hunting alone, bringing down the beast as it in turn gave him a fatal wound that killed him before anyone could find him. Shaman Kesar was almost inconsolable during this time and spent much of the next years hiding from others focusing on his research fully while the prosedure for finding a new Chief was taken. All the chiefs and any who wished to try were gathered together, their physical mental and persuasive powers were all tested till the final three were chosen. They went through many different problems and after a month of talking and working the youngest of them convinced the other two to let him take the position and to follow, so making it so that the youngest chief ever was appointed as the chief of chiefs as well as having two followers right away.

The newest chief Hiero took over the Grat Shee just 5 years after the peace treaty had been set up and spent his first decade making sure that the chiefs of the villages and those who lived in both the northern and southern areas all were willing to live under him and his commands. After that 15 years Kesar had been throwing him into his work of growing the Grat and bringing them to their full glory. Working together they used the peace that was spread out over the world to focus on themselves and build themselves up. Sending out slow settlements out into the north and making sure they all worked and were settled before trying the next it took the whole decade to set them up without fail.

Over the next decade they worked with both the forest and the Luug people inside their nation to build not only a closer people but use them together in easier ways.

In return the Luug were given greater freedoms in the Grat nation and soon were building great cave networks throughout the mountains and under part of the forest as well culminating in an easier way to move both people and any goods they wanted to back and forth over them.

Aerith, Silver Claw

The sound of a thunderclap in the far off distance jolted Aerith from her sleep. She awoke to an aching and pained body which was normal for her age. The last twenty five years passed as she helped form the Krakari Republic, forming laws and passing a new constitution concerning Krakari governance. Rules and boundaries were made on what the government could and could not do as a senate of Krakari statesmen was formed to be the voice of the people. Now, potential candidates sought senate more directly than the people. After five years, Aerith formally stepped down from office and set forth a precedent of which the government sought fit to make into an official rule. Reelection was allowed as well yet Aerith had enough of politics because of the family she had to raise as well.

Life wasn't exactly hard for her family but the death of her loving husband haunted her as much as the death of Khyber. Some nights she dreamed that she was on that field once more, watching him tied to the post before being shot. Sometimes, the firing squad would not stop firing and other times, Khyber just wouldn't die. Any time she heard a loud, cracking noise, the memories would leap right out from the dark places in her mind.

She got up from her bed and went to her table where she usually went through the latest news. Newspapers were growing in popularity because of Gangari's technological help. Now, it was easy to know what was going on throughout the Republic and even the world. But the Republic stood in a precarious place, surrounded by giants and in response to this a land rush began in the south under the new leader Gherka Veleris. Gherka ran his campaign on the promise of more land for the Krakari people seeing as they were beginning to be troubled by cramped living space. He won after a close election and his party went to work in arranging settlers for an expansion of their newest city in the south: Rostrum.

She read the news diligently, waiting as the sun began to rise over the mountains to the East. In the other rooms, Aerith could hear her servants began to go about their usual day but the sound of hurried steps broke that familiar rhythm. She brought down the paper as soon as her daughter entered her room. Aerith's daughter was almost as tall as she was with her son towering over most Krakari, a trait she was glad she passed down to her children.

"It's Gherka!" Aeris called out breathlessly, with a newspaper in hand. "He's been shot! The police caught only one of the two assailants."

"By the Gods..." Aerith sighed, tired of hearing news concerning death. "We need to leave for the Hall as soon as we can. Tell Aeross to meet us there."

"Do you think that's wise, mother?" Aeris worried. "Father was good friends with Gherka and his family. What if whoever killed Gherka wanted someone one from our family as well?"

"Its good to be careful but we must make a statement to the people." Aerith said as she got up and readied herself. "We are one people. We must be more unified than ever in these coming days."

Yoshera, Hall of Raptors

The Hall was in total lock down as police officers roamed the halls, searching for clues. The two assailants infiltrated the hall during a late night meeting and shot the President dead. The two of them were revealed to be members of the guards themselves which explained how they got in but now they had to as why.

25 years spelled nothing but hard work for Yoshera, the head Speaker of the Hall. It was Yoshera who helped implement and write up the new constitution of the Republic. He worked tirelessly with a committee of his most trusted administrators to make sure that the Senate would not step out of bounds and that everyone had equal say but that easier said than done. During the early years, scandal marked the Senate as accusations of bribery and treachery plagued the young Senate as candidates often bribed the Senators for votes in exchange of favors. Yoshera was having none of it as he cracked down on said senators who sold their votes. He personally lead several investigations into the affairs of the senators to root out the corrupt Senators so it would make sense that a corrupt senator would want the new President dead.

Instead of returning to his home Yoshera stayed at the Hall, helping the investigators the best he could. He felt restless if he wasn't doing anything and that's mostly due to his busy life. The newly-renovated Hall of Raptors stood taller than the original one with more rooms for the senate members but also for the different administrators. The building was easily one of tallest buildings in all of Silver Claw with a large spire, scraping the sky. Adjacent to the spire was a domed roof with a number of glass windows. The large scale of the Hall made investigating the building a tedious process so it would take some time before the police left.

Then, just as Yoshera was about to fall asleep from exhaustion, an investigator found a clue. It was a simple paper note, thrown away hastily into a trash bin. On the paper were images and letters arranged in an odd fashion. It was no doubt a code written to the two assassins yet even the investigators could not crack it. It was not a good lead but a lead nonetheless but at the door of the Hall, came the Aquilas and with them scholars and reporters, eager to ask what had exactly happened. It was a question that even he didn't know fully himself.

Lysei, the forge

The god of fire stood above a pyre of his own creation. A massive spinning attraction which he had very painstakingly designed with one purpose. The god?s sword was dull, he had been using it for decades and now the time had come to improve upon his original. The new sword would be sharp enough to cut through mountains, large enough to be weeded by Lysei no matter how large he got,, and of course bound to Lysei for all eternity. He had made blueprints, in fact everything was about ready to begin when the god felt Gangari meddling with Jashiki?s statue.

Lysei stopped what he was doing. Jashiki was a complication, something that did not need to return. A god who?s actions were so dangerous and wild that he had to be put down. Gangari was always soft. Unless someone directly blew up his library or did something else to that tune, he would not really want to harm them. Lysei would not be able to send himself to meet with the Wanderer, so he ordered Katalia to go instead. Then, he returned to forging his sword.

Firstly, Lysei needed the proper metals, so he gathered them from afar. Obsidian from Saranda for the hilt, and metals from Ajivha. He purified each of them in the pyre, and set the metals aside. Then, Lysei began to create the basic shape of his sword. It was a fairly simple design, but it would also be effective. An extremely large sword that even Lysei would need both hands to wield. Once he had finished forging the sword, the god began the lengthiest process. He had to imbue it with enough of his power to become both magical and bound to him. The pyre glowed white hot and Lysei allowed time to pass. How much, he wasn?t actually quite sure.

Gangari - Oileen Uisce

Time and time again Gangari's mind went back to those violent days of the past. It took some time but eventually the solution came to him. Jashiki. Deities couldn't be manufactured as far as he knew, and he didn't know how they came into being but Jashiki. Jashiki still existed as far as he knew. Locked away in that frozen place. Likely still alive.

It took a long time to come up with a way to drag him back, and it would take even longer to accomplish it. Lysei was always a risk. But he wasn't sure Lysei would even care in his inactivity. If he did there was no way the ritual could be hidden anyway. All that he had to do was wait and hope that Lysei would question him before he tried to stop him if that's what he decided to do.

Foci were needed and picked as the ritual was designed. Blood from across the lands. Water benders, Vampires, Druids, and those born upon his island. Creatures touched by him in some way, all carrying his mark whether they knew it or not, cultists donating blood to see their lord return. Men were also selected from amongst his own children, Corvans carrying Jashiki's marks donating blood to him without question.

With how long he had been gone Gangari wasn't sure how Jashiki's mind had fared. During the work he had decided that he would need to bind Jashiki to himself should anything go wrong and so he added his own blood, mixing it with what he had collected and pouring his magics even further into the process. Directly healing Jashiki's connection to the world with his own strength upon his return would enforce the connection.

The ritual was a rather simple affair as these things went, the only difference was the time it took and expenditure of power needed. The statue that Jashiki had left behind was the centre of it. The last image of him in the world and one of the last things he had left behind. Blood was painted in a wide circle around it and marks were painted onto it. A glass eye was placed into the empty socket of the statue, as it was likely that Jashiki had decided to reattach his own. Runes were painted along the inside and the outside of the circle upon the ground. Warding upon the outside and summoning upon the inside. Glass spheres were suspended over it all and Gangari began to pour his power into it. It would take a few years to locate the world Jashiki had been exiled to again, a few years to connect the portal to him, and then a few more years to finally open it for him. Fifteen, twenty, twenty five years maybe. He hoped less but he couldn't be sure. And assuming it was accomplished the regeneration of power could take almost as long likely...

He took a seat onto the ground and started to wait. He wouldn't need to sit here all day every day, but Lysei was likely to want answers soon enough. There were other things to do but they could wait until he had convinced Lysei to let it happen.

Gangari and Katalia - Oileen Uisce

Gangari felt a presence nearby, it wasn't Lysei at all. In fact, he wasn't sure he had ever met this person. She was familiar in lore, and her energy definitely felt like Lysei's, but she was not a simple reconstruction of the god. Almost a statue herself, Katalia, Lysei's hand came in his stead. She was more machine than person now, and she reminded Gangari of what Ajivha was once capable of. With precise steps Lysei's Hand walked up and touched the statue of Jashiki.

"Lysei is busy, he has a new toy he wants to make, but I can talk in his stead for now. Rather, Lysei wanted me to ask you a question." The robot stood near Gangari, Katalia had never actually met a god other than Lysei. She could sense Gangari and felt almost safe with him. It was odd considering everything she had heard about him, how on occasion the Wanderer could be far more vicious than the Judicator. She would need to be careful here.

Gangari stood up and turned to her smiling "I had been wondering how long it would take for him to be curious. Go ahead, ask your question. I have nothing to hide."

"Fair enough then." Katalia shrugged. "My master sent me here to ask why."

"There are a few reasons why I suppose, though I doubt Lysei would be interested in all of them." Gangari paused and took a breath in before he began "Over the years I've slowly come to the conclusion that we were manipulated all those years ago by Cyth'raul into seeing Jashiki as something more damaging than what was there. Though once again I doubt your master is interested in that. I've also come to the the conclusion that his absence is doing more damage than good. Since his fall Ajivha has been torched twice, and a third time was barely avoided. Aurora has annexed three nationalities and almost consumed the Sarandans due to faults in their nobility. And the Luug have been primed to tear themselves apart since they were taken. I can't work fast enough to deal with all of this and it's only going to get worse as time goes on." He paused to take another breath "Jashiki with the proper restraint and given enough time would make an excellent tool for keeping the masses under control and on the right path in the days to come."

Katalia nods her head, "I don't know how Lysei will respond to this, but your message has been duly noted. Perhaps we will meet again, Gangari." Katalia felt pretty good about this, whenever Jashiki was around there were people to kill. This could be interesting at the very least.

Gangari and Jashiki - Oileen Uisce

On the island of Oileen Uisce in an area long considered sacred a slick circle of blood sat around the ice statue of Jashiki, runes painted around it and on it in the blood. As months went on in the final years of the long ritual energy filled the air as worlds began to connect. The blood blackened and turned to ash as the function of the runes was absorbed, the statue turned translucent as it began to be replaced, and finally the ground within the circle turned to ice as worlds became one momentarily.

Jashiki was sitting in much the same place he had been since he had been sent there. His eyes closed just sitting he missed the first signs of the portal but when the cold air from the first world swirls through as hot as a forge bellows in this world his eyes snap open and look out over at the open portal. Frozen for a second as he looks he can feel it as he is drawn back into the world he came form. Gasping hard and arching back in a silent scream as he is drawn from the icey world he falls down onto the iced ground gasping as his eye opens slowly to see sun and rocks.

Gangari opened his eyes and stood at attention as Jashiki began to move. With a half smile he materialized a bowl of boiled water and offered it to him with one of his hands.

Shaking hard and looking up at Gangari Jashiki freezes as he looks at him before pulling the boiling water from the bowl and drinking it right away. Groaning to himself as he does he pushes himself up with one arm and raises his other to draw water from the surrounding area, boiling hot more of it comes to him and slowly he stops shaking. His one eye still watching Gangari.

Gangari nodded as Jashiki stared. After a few moments of silence he spoke "Welcome back Jashiki... You must have questions for me after all this time." He paused and asked a seperate question trying to be hospitable "Do you need anything?"

Pushing himself up Jashiki coughs hard and looks around. Not seeing anyone else he focuses back on Gangari and coughs again. Saying in a rough voice.
"Why?"

"Because your exile was undeserved and as time has passed I'm finally in a position to undo it."

Staring at Gangari hard Jashiki nods sharply and looks around again. Slowing gathering himself back into the seated position he coughs low and spits ice crystals onto the ground.
"the water in the air feels different. Everything does. How long?"

"It's been nearly fourty eight years by my count."

Nodding slowly Jashiki closes his eyes and lets a low slow breath out.
"Long long time. I'm sure so much has changed since i was... exiled. The war, how did it end?"

"The Ray-das surrendered in the face of the combined armies and unable to recover were annexed by the Aurorans almost three decades ago in another war."

Stiffening and spitting more crystals of ice Jashiki shakes his head and lays back. Now breathing hard his one eye looks at Gangari.
"Ice is still forming in my body. The Ray-Das are gone as a nation. This is going to take a while to recover. If you are here to help... I need time."

"I've made sure that you'll have it. Lysei was appeased years ago and strength will be finding its way into your veins again soon enough."

Nodding and closing his one eye Jashiki lets his body fall into a state of sleep. Frost forming a thin layer on his skin as he does.

Minutes after Jashiki layed back down and frost forms over his body several hooded robed figures slowly come out of the caves. Each of them hesitating them seem to freeze like they themselves are being covered in ice, but soon they move forward again and gather around the much larger body before one of them turns and says to Gangari.
"The blood we gave worked.. Thank you Gangari."

Turning back to the body and several of the figures making signs with their half covered hands the frost liquifies and lifts the body from the rocks. They start moving the large body of their newly resurrected god into the caves into a special place they had been making since Gangari first came to them with this idea. As they move him deeper and deeper they set him into a cave deep into their hide out, as deep as they have ever gone the air in this room is hot almost more so than any of them can stand for longer than a few minutes. As they lay him in a pool of boiling water in the center of the room and many of them leave one of them pauses at the door. Their hand over their chest grabbing something the figure shakes their head and leaves quickly before they pass out.

Many times over the next couple of years Cultists would go down to watch over the ever still body of their lord before leaving him to heal and rest. Almost four years on the dot Jashiki's eye opens slowly to take in the ceiling of the room he had been left in. Slowly getting up and feeling the power flowing back through his body he makes his way up and steps into the main area of the cult, stopping as quietness rolls over those in the main cavern before two of the figures step forward and bow before pulling their hoods back showing halfling faces to Jashiki and bowing again. The one on the right pulling something from beneath his robes he holds up the still frozen eye to Jashiki saying softly.
"Your eye my lord."

Jashiki looks down at it and sets his hand over the halflings fingers, closing it around the eye and puting it back to the halflings chest.
"Keep it, since you prize it so much."
Looking around Jashiki looks over the many assembled halflings and a small smile lifts the edges of his lips.
"I can feel the wonderment from you all, and the signs that hand show you all know and believe in me. Come, tell me of that which has happened in the long years since i was last here. I... Feel as though i know some of you."

Many of those in the hall throw their hoods back and look up at Jashiki. One of them speaks up and calls to himm from the middle.
"We were children who used to play on this mountain when you were sent away. We made this to honor you and protect this place."

Jashiki nods and sets his clawed hands on the two in front of him and looks over the rest smiling.
"Thank you. Now come, tell me of what has happened."

Leading him to a large throne that had been made they one by one tell him of what has been going on, each of them giving him a pain point before another taking over. This took many months before they finished and Jashiki sat there listening the whole time, many times not knowing how to take what he hears.

Rederick - Gokvahar Work Camps

Time passed. Men were born, Men grew, and Men died. Rederick watched as the world moved forward around him. Things settled for a time as work was accomplished.

Aurora continued to grow and become even more zealous. The Krakari began to work beside him and his people fully, constructing institutes in both lands and sharing their work between them, agreements between them soon would mean that they too would learn to fly the skies as they had come to and be able to live without touching the ground almost entirely. The Grat settled in their lands and went back to their hunts for a time, missionaries going to and coming back from their lands as the agreement had went so that they could live their lives in peace. The Luug began to fight amongst themselves again, men were sent to sort it out but apparently the Aurorans resolved it before they arrived. The Ray-das finally began to quiet in their lands, something that most in the growing collective found surprising. The Sarandans continued to trade with the collective, their silk becoming a commodity in the new markets and their other trades becoming useful in the construction of the new city.

Throughout this time Rederick took a wife and had a son and daughter that left to become Justiciars as they matured. Caught one of the marsh plagues and nearly died screaming and mad. Grew old in time and was nearly driven out of both of his held offices first through assassins and second by popular election in the face of his continuing militarization of the state. Lost several of his best officers to age and saw his closest adviser undergo the right of ascendance and become one of the growing number of machines.

But as always the world moved on. The city of Gokvahar was a wonder of the world as some saw it, even though it wasn't flying yet. Workers from all walks of life were sworn in and trained as they came to the small desert community that had been formed to support the work. Being made to swear that they not teach others what they learn here and to see that said talents not be used for the purposes of war. Runes being placed upon their flesh to see that they not violate it having been bound to Gangari.

A honeycombed structure of the silver living metal of the university was grown from the ground and became the skeleton of the city. Plates of the bronze metal were runed and melded to the exterior as work went on, giving it a skin or a shell to protect it against the outside world. Thick rough stone was brought in to build buildings and roads and metal was made to grow through them to bind and strengthen them. Glass was made and brought to make thick windows for the buildings to proof them against the possibility of harsh unforgiving winds should they need to go high.

Below "ground" were a series of tunnels and chambers, sealed off to all but residents by doors controlled by Simulacra Crystals housing minds trained to recognize the marks made on their flesh. It was a massive Acropolis, a sort of secondary city so that it could function in times of crisis without risking the outdoors.

In the very center of the city below the palace was a sphere not unlike Gangari's Sanctuary, a silver-root node with six more nodes surrounding it at a distance out of the view of the structures of the city. Roots connecting them to eachother and running through out the city through the honeycombing. Ashlif, Gangari's daughter made responsible for managing enchantments and mechanisms as well as repairing damage and degradation to the structure. Simulacra crystals were worked into various aspects and the majority of mechanisms as well making most of the city intelligent and actively loyal to its citizens.

Statues prepared before the fall as well as several new ones were placed around the city. Filled with clockworks and internally built in the same manner as Gangari's Automatons including Simulacra Crystals to give them minds they became fantastic Guardians able to watch over it when needed.

Water reservoirs, sieves, and collectors were designed as time went on as well as farms growing hardier crops that had been developed. Docks were constructed on the outside of the walls near the city gates so that ships could be built and correctly kept docked to the city so that they wouldn't float away.

And while it would still take time to complete it, it was beginning to look whole. Clearly all wasn't well though, a bombing was reported and later a series of bombings elsewhere.

All Luug. Screams of some kind of Luug independence movement were heard by some before they detonated themselves. It was something that needed to be looked into. Groups of Justiciars came and went from the city on a daily basis after that point while all trails led to the northern lands.

He hoped this wasn't the beginning of something. The war against Aurora had been enough to tire him of the idea and fighting an organized militia of Luug was something that didn't appeal to anyone with a mind.

- Bring Jashiki back from Exile.
- Action is difficulty 19, with an assumed cost of 8 AP. Total domain bonus applied to the roll is +8. Time-skip action so the roll is twelve. Roll + domain bonus equals twenty. Autosuccess.

- Construct Gokvahar, a city capable of flight.

- OOC description: A full territory (seven hexes) able to move itself under its own power through flight (well, through the magic of a god anyway), with all of the benefits implied by flight including but not limited to the defensive benefits and the the ability to sit above already occupied territory. Acts as a normal city in other regards as is to be expected. In shape it is a perfect hex formed by the seven, with the middle hex surrounded on all sides. A deity action will be done to complete it and make it function fully as intended (flight).
- Structurally on the top layer of the city it is designed after Grand Ajivha, superficially modeled after it from before it was torn down by Emir and the Auroran army.

Time passed, for some fast for others slow, but it passed for all. 25 years have gone by and while the nations have focused on themselves building their people or land the gods have each worked on their own projects while another has been born.

Nations

Aetherial Collective
The Collective used this time to work on their, or anyone's, greatest constructive project. Stripping the land to gain the materials they slowly constructed a gigantic ship that would eventually fly when their god gave it that final push but the minds of their workers and the hands of the builders are the ones who creates this wonder.

Aurora
Aurora kept its emperor though the whole time of peace, gaining many grandchildren during this time as his sons and daughters had their own children. The minority people of Aurora the Halflings were brought into their arms closer and this was set down as their greatest success for this generation. They also set down training centers all throughout the nation where the normal people in the city's and towns were trained so that if there were any attacking army's they would be able to defend their homes, even at the price of their blood and lives.

Grat Shee
The Grat Shee stopped worrying about the outside world as they worked to bring their nation closer together and expand it to the north deeper into the forest traditionally their home. They had a change of leadership when their old one went out and got killed in a hunt.

Krakari Republic
The Krakari nation spent the time to change their nation form its old method of government to becoming a republic. Laws were passed, what the government could and could not do was set down and the people were given a greater voice than ever before. Using this new government to fuel the the peoples want to expand they spread the port they own in the south east into a thriving city and the surrounding countryside into their control also.

Gods

Gangari
Gangari used the years of peace and quiet in the world to focus on bringing back a god who had been banished. Using blood form all over the world as well as his own he spent years researching and gathering the power needed to force open a portal long enough for the one on the other side to fall through back into this world.

Lysei
Lysei forgot about time itself as he worked on his creation, the Grand Sword of the Judicator. Only pausing when a growth of power from outside jerked his mind out of its focus and even then he sent his flaming one to see what was going on before losing himself in his work again.

Khalorean
In the forest right on the edge of a large clearing bugs and insects from all over the world gathered and formed into a large spacious form. A gathering power formed around them and created Khalorean, a new god who had been formed from a legend around a village and the collection of new insects from all around the world.

Jashiki
Jashiki who had spent the last 50 years frozen in a land of ice and cold found himself dragged back through the walls of the worlds and into the one he came from again. Landing on the same mountain top where he had been banished he soon passed out after seeing who had brought him back. After years of gathering his power back to keep the ever growing ice that had formed in his body to leave and then listening to his few followers he is almost ready to join the world again.

Khalorean, 21AP

Khalorean looks at his hand. It appears to be skeletal, but closer examination proves that incorrect. Very small, pale bugs swarm over themselves in the shape of a human skeleton. What appears to be metal plate armor is the same; though silver bugs. Fireflies blink their lights within what appears to be the hollow sockets where his eyes should be.

He needs someone to notice him. Worship him. He feels the pull of a quaint town, and it isn't very far. Maybe half a mile. Instead of bothering to wait for someone to happen across him, he summons a small swarm of large black wolf spiders and various butterflies to bring someone to me. The spiders split into two equal groups where the forest opens to the town. The spiders on the right walk around in long ovals within the treeline. The ones on the left walk towards the right in their oval surrounding a few trees, the ones on the right walk towards the left encompassing a few trees themselves. Butterflies dance at the height of seven feet, completing the guided pathway he has decided.

He begins to listen to prayers and await a villager. Sitting comfortably on a rock and looking down at the beetles swarming at his feet, he waits for someone to arrive. It doesn't matter who; just a mortal who knows of him. That's good enough. The first one to wake up and begin to go on their daily tasks is a young girl, going to pick some fruit from the nearby orchard. Her attention is grabbed and she looks over to the treeline, seeing the parade of insects. A special thing! She follows the path and arrives at the clearing. Khalorean slowly looks up at her.

She knows she is special. Important. She leads her god back to the village. If this was a 'show and tell' day at school, she would surely win!

Looking into (asking Group) about figuring out where the Driders are in Aurora via scrying so I can appear to them.

Emperor Maximus I, Nova Verde, Isle of Maia

Maximus had to admit that at sixty one, he was becoming a little lonely. Amatia had been gravely ill for some time and rarely left her quarters. Aurelius and Maria were now resident in Oilean Uisce and Ajivha respectively, only visiting the capital when their busy schedules would allow, while his niece Aelia was rarely able to leave Mereton. Julius remained in the capital but mainly because the Emperor didn't trust his nephew to run a province, he didn't enjoy his company and had even offered him a ceremonial role in Padonia in the past in the hope that he would accept and leave the palace in peace. He hadn't, of course.

At present Emperor was taking a warm bath in his private quarters, the water having been specially heated up an hour in jugs over a fire so it would be the right temperature now. Maximus looked up at the painting of his extended family on the wall. It had been painted a couple of years ago to celebrate his Golden Anniversary, the fiftieth year of his reign, but was still largely true to life.

To his right along with Amatia stood High Prince Aurelius, heir to the throne of Aurora, now a thickset man of thirty three along with his two wives and children. Princess Hild was twelve years his senior and was largely seen as a political match between the Houses of Verde and Mereton. She bore him one son, now eleven year old Prince Kaius, however the injuries sustained in the difficult birth prevented her from having any more children. Thus a year later Aurelius took a second younger wife, Princess Bo of the House of Canio who originated from the most powerful family in Tian, and had another son and daughter by her. They were nine year old Princess Erica and Prince Daigoro who was almost seven, named after the traditions of their mother's culture. Both looked bright-eyed and mischievous, as they had the last time he saw them. Further along stood his daughter Princess Maria, now thirty three, and her husband Prince Indraj-Andha, heir to the throne of Ajviha. Unfortunately the match had only produced daughters so far, Princesses Khaira and Misha who were eight and four respectively. Though both were more ethnic Novaren than Ajivhan by blood, their ancestry from Indraj-Alika was still obvious.

On the other side of him sat the Kaius branch of the family. Julius now aged fifty two and gaunt, the painting capturing his typically angry expression well. His dark-skinned wife of thirty five Corona stood besides him, the daughter of Princess Rhesa, herself the only surviving offspring of the late High Prince Octavius. Theirs was a rare match of love, it was said. To regret of Julius, and the relief of the rest of the Imperial family, they only had one daughter: fourteen year old Tettia. Maximus' niece Aelia was a year older than Julius and had aged well, in the painting she stood to the far left with his husband Cyneheard, who was now King of Mereton after the death of his father Edgar five years previously. Between them they had three adult children: Matilda aged twenty four, Theodoric aged twenty two and eighteen year old Ceolred. All three were blond haired and fair like their father.

As he was lost in thought, one of his personal attendants entered. She was tall and olive-skinned, with a noticeably square jaw and long dark hair. He noticed the woman and nodded to the painting on the wall.

"Do you ever miss your family, Damia?"

"Sometimes your Imperial Majesty, I'm not sure they want to see me much nowadays," she laughed, "My parents are still angry that I'll never give them grandchildren, even though it's over twenty years since I became an eunuch,"

"How does that work again?" Maximus asked quixotically, he'd discussed this before with her but it confused him every time.

"I was born a boy," Damia chuckled ruefully, "I always knew I was different though, as long as I could remember. My mother and father didn't like the way I acted, and so when I was eight they took me to the village priest. He said he thought I had a female spirit inside and asked me if I agreed with that. I said yes, I had thought something like that for years but couldn't put it into words,"

"And that's when they..." Maximus continued with a slightly pained expression.

"Castrated me? Yes," she nodded, noting with a smile the Emperor's automatic flinch as she said the words, "They put me in a hot bath, gave me a drink that put me to sleep and when I awoke I was a girl. Crushed and snipped, I believe the exact procedure was. The next year I was apprenticed to work in your Nova Auroran residence and the rest is history."

"But you still have a...?" Maximus asked awkwardly, pointing down to his own private's floating limply in the bath water as an example.

"Yes, there's no way they could remove that without me bleeding to death," Damia nodded, "You're welcome to take a look if it would please your Majesty,"

"Well..." the Emperor replied red-faced but before he got the chance to finish his sentence he was interrupted.

"Your Imperial Majesty!" a guard burst in suddenly from a side door, "Apologies for my intrusion, there has been an attack in the palace!"

"Where?" Maximus exclaimed in alarm, looking around him in-case any invaders should appear at any moment from behind.

"In the back quarters, near the servant's entrance. They say a horse and cart being driven by a Luug suddenly blew up without warning. Several attendants are dead and many more are wounded, but we think there are no more attackers left now,"

"The Father's blood!" the Emperor cursed, "Double my guard and find out who was behind this. Those Luug have been no end of trouble ever since they were admitted into the Commonwealth..."

~

Some time later, the Emperor met with a makeshift council in the centre of the palace. His trusted advisor the Lord Seer Aldren had been summoned, along with Lord Deputy Quinn and Speaker of Parliament Prince Hwan. Aldren placed out several sheets of paper on the table for the others to see.

"We've taken witness statements from everyone near the blast who escaped unscathed," the Lord Seer started, "What is beyond doubt is that this was caused by a rogue Luug, who used steam-based explosives either bought or sold from our own army,"

"Is there any clue who he was working with?" Maximus asked.

"Not yet, but we may soon..." Aldren swallowed, "There's more, over the last hour we've had reports by dragon coming in, there's been attacks in other cities across Aurora and on our shared construction site with the Collective. They say the attackers identified themselves as the Luug Resistance Army,"

"Damn!" the Emperor cursed, "Find out whoever did this, I'm charging you personally with the task Lord Seer,"

"As you wish, your Majesty," Aldren bowed.

"Sir, what about our planned colonies to the north?" Lord Deputy Quinn interjected. In recent months explorers had ventured further up the great continent than ever before and identified areas ripe for settlement, "Should they still go ahead?"

"Of course," Maximus nodded, "We must not let these acts of terror curtail us. The colonies must go ahead as before, along with using the settlement techniques we were given by the Driders. Our armies must be prepared for further attacks, make sure those guerilla warfare books we have are distributed fully," he flashed a brief smile, "These Luug won't know what hits them."

Grat Shee, Shaman Kesar, The Cage

Standing in the middle of the room he had taken many years ago to hide from the world Shaman Kesar leans on his staff, what used to be something to test out the wood now becoming a needed action as his old body requires the support to stand for any length of time. Turning slowly and walking past an apprentice who was fiddling with some glass bowls with new liquids in it he slowly makes his way out of the room and into a hall way with the same guards there used to be over two decades ago. Hobbling through the hall to the bottom of the long set of stairs Kesar pauses as he gathers his strength, his body older than almost any other Grat in the whole nation. When his apprentice comes up and starts to help him up the stairs Kesar Barks a soft laugh and looks over at him.
"Im old Verio, to old to be the shaman for any chief much less the chief of chiefs. Soon I will hand this job to you and you can work with him, then I will stay here till it is time for the feasting of knowledge."

Verio nods slowly and helps the aged Kesar to the first landing and stops, knowing his old master will need the time to gather his strength for the next part. As he stands there not quite touching the hunched panting Grat Verio says in a deep low voice that belies the small chest of the Grat.
"I will be the second to take part of the feast Shaman, I hope it gives me the wisdom you have gathered in your years."

Kesar laughs softly and starts making his way up the stairs without assistance this time, some of his old vigor seeming to be back as he passes the thin windows leading outside. Making his way out into the open area inside the Cage and looking out over the room of talking young Grat students and some older ones. They all step out of the way of the slow Grat as he makes his way across the floor, not all of them sure who he is but his age and where he came out of both meaning they should and would offer their respect on pain of the older Grat students teaching them later.

Almost getting to the other side of the room and out the door Kesar stops just before and as he does Hiero comes stepping through the doors. The chief of chiefs looks at the aging Shaman and walks over to offer his arm, letting him lean on him as they slowly walk out of the doors and into the sun. Hiero says down to the aged Grat.
"Time is starting to speed up again it seems, we hear about Luug bombing parts of other nations and our own are both unsure of them and scared that we will start treating them as though they have done it themselves. Closer to the sands a large city is being build by the Collective, and by our talking with them we know it should fly in the air forever holding their people and protecting them."

Hiero moves towards a set of outdoor steps and takes them slowly with the old shaman as they both stay quiet. After a long time of quite and stair climbing Kesar says in a weaker voice tired from the climbing and time.
"I am to old to give good advice, you will soon need someone who can see straighter and point you better towards the target. For now, my advice is to build our own people up. Let us grow and watch the rest till they move to effect us, then strike hard like Grat."

Hiero nods slowly and they both stop on a balcony looking out over the trees as they sway in the windless morning. Kesar leans on his staff and looks over at the tall standing Grat chief and laughs softly as he reaches up and with surprising strength cuts the muzzle of the one standing there with two parallel lines.
"you remind me almost to much of Sharo."

Hiero blinks and sets his claws as his slowly bleeding muzzle as he looks down at the Shaman beside him.
"That is an honor to be compared to."

King Indraj-Alika, Grand Ajivha, Kingdom of Ajivha

"Father, we cannot allow these vultures to hang around the gate of our own palace, preaching dissent as if it was nothing!" Indraj-Andha fumed, slamming his hand down on the bench beside him. Indraj-Alika waited calmly until his son had finished before replying.

"If they are harming none, we shouldn't come down too hard on the poor fellows, most of them are half-deranged anyway."

"It's not right to say such things about our crown, or the Emperor," the prince replied angrily, "If I had my way they would all be sent to the gallows for such talk,"

At that moment the pair were approached by a trio of guards, who dumped a scrawny Ajivhan man on the ground before them.

"We found this man preaching insurrection against the Crown outside the palace gates. What should we do with him?" one asked.

"Just take him to Nau and throw him in a cell for a few days, let him cool off," the King waved dismissively, giving Indraj-Andha a knowing glance, who stormed off furiously in response. In years past he would have been more alarmed but Ajivha had been stable for over a generation now and could afford to allow a certain level of dissent. "Wait, what is that?" he added as he noticed the man was holding a small book in his hands.

"Just... just..." the man quavered before one of the guards pulled the tome out of his hands and handed it to Indraj. On the front in clear letters was printed 'A People's Republic, by High Prince Octavius'.

"Where did you get this?" Indraj asked the man sternly.

"Silverroot... University, my liege," the man stammered, "In the library, I just took it from the shelves,"

"Fine, send him away," the King ordered, before taking the book to his private quarters with a curious eye. He had read Octavius' other books, most notably Economics of Nova Aurora and A Concise History of the House of Verde, but this was different. This was a tome he had never heard of before, not on any list of the scholar prince's work. Could it really be a genuine work of Octavius?

He began to dig through the pages, taking in the paragraphs word by word. Even through printed text the style was remarkably that of Octavius, his characteristic phrases appearing throughout. The book made an argument that the classes and particularly nobility of Aurora went against the original intention of Father Matthias, that even the position of Emperor was a later invention of his descendants so they could keep power to themselves. That was more than just dissent, that was heresy. Indraj had to admit it made a convincing argument, though he would not admit it aloud for fear of offending many of his subjects he had long had scepticism over whether Father Matthias was truly the same being as the one who now called himself Lysei, and whether the man Matthias had ever been a god at-all.

"What could have been if Octavius had not been killed?" Indraj mused.

In it's later chapters, the book set out an alternative plan for Aurora. It proposed the redistribution of wealth according to need rather than earning, and the nationalisation of all lands and industries. All nobility and inherited positions would be abolished. Councils of freemen elected by their peers would replace local lords and above all a parliament with representatives from every council. Here the style started to diverge somewhat, as if another hand had added to and rewritten parts of the text. The King's suspicions were confirmed when a chapter started comparing and critiquing the Krakari Republic and the Collective, states which had not existed until decades after Octavius' death. He flicked through to the end and sure enough, on the last page the following words were printed:

Written by High Prince Octavius, Duke of Pesh. Edited and printed by CW.

"Who is this CW?" Indraj muttered to himself. Once he had finished reading, he packaged up the book to send it to his close friend, Lord Protector Faustus Caeso of Padonia. Lord Caeso was a rising star in the west, only in his mid-thirties and already elected by his peers as the Head of State of Aurora's largest province. He was also a well regarded scholar and Indraj wanted to hear his opinion on the tome. Once that was done, the King then wrote a letter to Silveroot university asking for more information on the book and whether they had any further copies. He wasn't entirely sure what to make of the radical ideas expressed in the book but he was eager to find out who this mysterious thinker CW was and whether he could meet the man in person.

Jashiki, capital of Arora, 20 Ap

Stepping out of the cave systems where he had been resting and listening to his followers for the last many years Jashiki looks out into the open air again. Taking in a a deep breath of fresh air and enjoying it he smiles slowly. Stepping to the edge of the top of the mountain he looks down at the village below, many miles away but still easily seen. Watching as they go about their business he can feel many different kinds of people in and around it, many of them Auroran. Frowning slightly and plucking some things from their minds he jumps through space to stand above the capital and look down at it, feeling around for one mind he moves through space again and steps onto the floor of the private room for the emperor of Aurora.

Maximus was writing a letter to one of his grandson's on Oilean Uisce, being careful to use only simple runes that he would be able to understand. He glanced around as he heard a step behind his chair, of course the room was empty.
"Anyone there?" he asked wearily.

Walking over and looking over his shoulder Jashiki notices the place it will be sent to and chuckles softly. Showing himself behind Maximus.
"You have family on my island?"

"Ah!" the Emperor cried, clutching his chest, before letting out a long breath, "You have to stop doing that, I'm getting too old for jump scares..." he said as he turned again before realising it wasn't Lysei. "Who are you?" he added in astonishment.

Looking over at Maximus clutching his chest and talking Jashiki waits for him to calm down.
"Your brother never told you about me? It has been almost 60 years but still I would think that you would remember a god. My name is Jashiki, god of water."

Looking down at the aged human he looks at his heart and is glad to see it is not actually failing.

"The god of the Octopi?" Maximus exclaimed in remembrance, "That time seems like another world, I thought you were long gone!"
He glanced back at the letter.
"My only son Aurelius and his family live on Oilean Uisce, he governs the island along with the council lead by Ker-Hai,"

Stepping back and nodding Jashiki sits in a chair a few feet away and shrugs.
"I heard some about Octopi, and I was gone. For a very long time I had been pushed into another realm and left there. But Gangari brought me back because he felt what happened was wrong. He is? Ker-Hai is still around? I know he was working on the island but have yet to meet him. I believe I told your brother that he should send family to the island for training, im glad it happened eventually."

"After about fifty years," Maximus chuckled, "Ker-Hai is still going strong, no idea how old he is now, I have a hunch that halflings age slower than men,"

"Well, he was also given a gift from me well before I was taken so that he would not age. That may be apart of it also."

"Ah, that might explain a few things," the Emperor nodded.

Looking over at the emperor and tilting his head slightly Jashiki nods to him slightly.
"your all grown up, I saw you a few times long ago. Where is your brother?"

"He died over fifty years ago, when I was still just a boy," Maximus sighed, "After his faked death, that is. They said he was killed in an attack by my uncle's men on an Octopi stronghold,"

Lifting his head slightly Jashiki considers this.
"I am the one who got him from where he was after the fake death. Took him to some of his friends and after that he went on to fight his battle with his brother and I left to fight my own, as you can see I lost. So, you have been emperor this whole time. Been doing a good job? or allowing yourself to be lead around like a boar."

"I cut my own path, as Kaius asked me to the last time we met," Maximus replied sharply, "The first years of my reign Lord Cassian stood in for me, after that Aurora has been my own. Whether I have reigned well? That is for posteriority to decide, I have done everything in my power to be a just monarch,"

Nodding Jashiki looks at this bristling mortal and can feel a smile tugging at his lips. Lightly scratching at the corner of his mouth he looks down at the mortal.
"Good answer, since you will almost never know if your actions will cause good or bad till after your own life is over. Are you being Just, or Kind?"

"I hope so, Aurora is not an easy nation to rule," Maximus replied, "It is not really one people, it is many peoples thrust together by circumstance and a common goal," he looked away darkly towards the fireplace behind them, "There are many tensions bubbling below the surface, only a few days ago the Palace was attacked by an insurgent riding a cart loaded with explosives. I fear it would only take a small spark to set the whole nation alight."

Scratching his own chin and looking at the fire Jashiki considers the fact that there had been an attack on this palace just a few days ago. Glancing at Maximus again and smiling slowly he leans forward against his knees.
"Is it not better to light your own fires and see what burns? a controlled one where you may see what parts light first and put them out before the rest goes up. What you need is something to spark the rebellious spirit without letting it get out of control. Am I right?"

"Were you not taught as a child not to play with fire?" the Emperor chuckled, "Once started it can get out of control and who knows what it may burn?"

"Yes, if not controlled it could burn everything and what you fear is happening will happen. But just like a light burning will help a forest this could help your nation. A clearing wave to wash out the sediment and clean the left over waters if you will."

"What exactly are you suggesting?" Maximus asked.

"I am suggesting.. that you stimulate a rebellion and watch it grow, then just before it can hurt anything major you cut it down."

"That seems rather... utilitarian," the Emperor replied after a pause, "I swore an oath to my brother to do good by the people of this nation and I would die before breaking that oath. I will not start any rebellion,"

Looking at ,Maximus and nodding slowly Jashiki waves a hand slightly.
"Your oath shows how committed you are. How do you suggest you find and cut out those who deserve it and need it?"

"I have sent my loyal servant Lord Aldren to track down this so-called Luug Resistance Army," Maximus nodded, "He is well experienced in this field, I trust him to bring the perpetrators to justice without too much trouble,"

Looking at Maximus and leaning back in his chair Jashiki taps his claws on the chair slowly before saying lightly.
"Your loyalty and way of ruling do you justice Maximus, I believe you are a worthy successor to your late brother."

"Thank you," the Emperor replied, before changing the subject slightly, "Are you aiming to reestablish your worship in Aurora?"

Pausing in his movement Jashiki turns his eyes to Maximus before replying.
"I intend to gain the worship of the halflings, even if they are no longer their own nation they are still the people I favored the most. But yes, the worship I used to have in Aurora herself I want back also. I would have been more vocal here if Another god had not threatened me if I came here."

"Our population has grown exorbitantly over the last half a century, I imagine there is space for you in the Auroran pantheon if you put your name out there," Maximus nodded.

"I am sure that is true, hearing about it it sounds like there is almost twice as many halflings as their used to be. I will be telling them I am back, as well as my Benders will be spreading the word also."

"I hope they still remember, it has been a long time since your name was mentioned in these lands,"

Jashiki sighs softly and nods. For a second rubbing the empty eye socket before saying.
"I know, many years since I was last seen or felt at all."

"I wish you luck," the Emperor added, "You should visit the King of the Halflings at some point, he may be able to help you,"

Jashiki stands and looks down at the Emperor as he considers the suggestion.
"I will."

Turning he is gone form the room before he finishes the turn. Leaving the emperor of Aurora in his room he goes back to Oilean Uisce, not even pausing before following one of the lines of power that he had left many years ago. Stopping in a basic room with but one occupant Jashiki looks down at the old man in the form of a normal one. Smiling slightly and walking over he sets his clawed hand on his shoulder as he reads something and says to him.
"It has been to long my most faithful servant."

When the man sitting there jerks around at the touch and stands half raising his hands to do something he is struck frozen by the form next to him. Looking up at the figure of Jashiki for many long seconds Ker-Hai cries out and throws himself forward to grab at the clawed hand and hold it tight, reassuring himself that it is real and solid. Looking up at the much taller Jashiki Ker-Hia starts to cry and ask how, having been kept from the truth to keep it from the world at large. Smiling and patting his shoulder Jashiki sits him back down and sits on the bed, looking at the still same figure of the Halfling in front of him.
"I had help to come back, but I am now back. Though still weak and with much of my former powers having left me, I need the worship I used to have. The halflings are a major part of that."

Ker-Hai nods slightly, still staring not sure to believe his own eyes. Saying slowly and hesitantly.
"Many will not believe you are back unless they see proof, even then they will need to see great proof and not just a form."

Jashiki nods and sighs as he considers this, rolling it over in his mind and leaning back on the bed as he does. Long minutes after he looks at the still staring Ker-Hai and smiles slightly at him.
"Many will have your reaction, and that is what I am going for. Spread the word my Wave Master. I will show myself as I can and do what I can. Spread the word."

Letting himself fade away and leave the stunned Ker-Hai in his room staring at the bed Jashiki forms himself on one of the small circling islands, sitting right in the middle of the lake on top of the water. Gathering his still meager power and allowing it to reach out into the world to find a good recipient.

Khalorean, 21 AP remaining

What the girl didn't know was that she would soon be met by something she had never seen before. She had heard of them of course, but she hadn't seen them in person. Not yet. A small group of them came, called by Khalorean's power.

Grabbing the attention of everyone nearby- humans in their homes came out, called driders stood in two rows of curved lines. Everyone could see everyone's faces.
In between them all, was Khalorean. He spoke.

"My children, I have arrived. These humans summoned me forth with their prayers. But I also saw the dreams of the drider people. I give unto you this gift of my awakening."

Difficulty: 7 Cost: 2AP (19 left)

The exact speed of each individual is unknown. So, each individual (20 drider and 30 humans) now have increased physical speed of x3 (three times faster after being blessed than they were beforehand- evasion, movement, attack all count as needed).

Yoshera, Silver Claw

Even after a stay at Silver Claw's most notorious prison and a lengthy interrogation by authorities, the assassin still did not speak. His person was inspected dozens of times and each time, the police came up empty-handed. Besides the pistol and clothes, both assassins had nothing else on them which frustrated Yoshera. Gherka's vice-president stepped up and assumed power. Valerys looked quite unprepared and meek compared to his stout running mate but he continued to push through with Gherka's promise of expanding Krakari lands in the south. Valerys was a firm believer in Gangari so he founded a guild in Gangari's name to chart and map the new lands. He dispatched them as quick as they could while also focusing on discovering new technologies.

Yoshera's first guess was Valerys to when it came to the assassination so Valerys was questioned first. Unsurprisingly, there was no connection between him and the two assassins even after a length investigation. As days passed in the investigation, people began to suspect that it was simply the work of the two assassins and the penned letter was only meant to buy time. But, Yoshera questioned everything about the investigation and the way it was handled. The police were not incompetent but he did believe there was something else beneath the surface that they did not see or someone they dare not touch. Even in this day and age, the connections that the Krakari felt to their clans still remained. Since Yoshera was raised without such notion, it was hard for him to understand.

So, between his work he began diving into any works concerning the old tribes and the great families before the great betrayal by Yoren. It wouldn't bring him to the answer immediately but it was a start.

Gangari - Gokvahar - 21/21 AP

As the world moved around him Gangari sat silently resting and thinking within his new home. With how the city was being constructed he had decided to influence the Spherical node that had been grown under the palace or temple of Ajivha as some were calling it within the city to become like his sanctum far underneath the University. A place where he could rest and work without the outisde watching. False metals and crystallized souls covered the inside of the city in ways that would result in something far greater than the sum of its parts.

Energy constantly channeled into the city from him and the aether flowing through the structure like blood through veins. Minds and symbols hummed with purpose as they worked to harness the strength of what had taken shape.

It wasn't complete though. Years of study and work could only accomplish so much in their relative ignorance. Everything that needed to be there was there but it needed to be made whole, it needed a spark to animate the process.

As Gangari sat and thought, a small oddly shaped glass like crystal coated in light appeared. It appeared in the center of the sanctum floating in the center of it. It would be the catalyst to the process. It would cause the enchantments to bind to eachother and merge the constituents into a whole.

Rederick - Gokvahar

Construction in most of the city was complete. The work was nearly over. The workers that had been coming and going since the beginning of the project were leaving in whole. A dedicated few being sent back to found a shipyard with elements of the University. The marks upon their flesh would hopefully remind them of the promise they had made back when it had began to keep it from being used for war.

Elsewhere members of the various sphere cults were being sent to Krakari lands to begin teaching their scholars and carpenters to construct Sky Ships of their own. Both a gift and a condition of longstanding agreements between the two nations. Flight on an industrial scale would become something of ease to them in the long run.

As always though, troubling news kept coming. Bombings were happening more frequently and little was coming of the investigations. Something needed to be done and fast.

Aurora

Aurora sent out three expeditions to settle lands not yet their own. Each of them to the north the first settling directly north of the Costa Nord and again even farther than that were each a success and many towns and people were settles in those areas to start their new lives. The final group sent out to settle the farthest north Found themselves having several hard moths and quite a few commented about going back but they prevailed and successfully settled their lands. In the main body of Aurora the plans for Advanced Settlement and Guerilla Warfare were both distributed to the people in charge of sending out new settlements and the barracks to be taught and used from now on.

Collective

The collective split their time implementing research and sending their allies technology well beyond what they themselves could create. High altitude living as well as high altitude agriculture were both implemented the plans as well as teaching those who were going to be going into those kinds of situations how to. They also sent many plans to the Krakari telling them how to create flying ships, even if they were devote of some of the other tech the collective were using. They also sent the Aurorian back the workers they had borrowed with three flying ships that had been created at the end, using the same technology given to the Krakari though they had not given them how to create more. They had a secret action as well that worked.

Grat Shee

The Grat implimented three things that they had researched before the long time of peace and had at long last sent them out to be used. Laboratories to help in researching new things, widening and making the Luug spawning pools deeper to increase how many Luug were created and finally the happy accident that had created a stone eating acid and how to create it was sent out to all for use if they wished. Two new things had been researched, exploding arrows and rejuvenating potions. Even though they had another accident when researching the arrows this time the notes had not ben burned and all who were there breathed a deep breath as they did not have to do these experiments again.

Krakari Republic

The Krakari Republic sent out three groups to settle land around them as well but these did not all work. They sent one group to colonize the southwest coast and they build several towns, while the settling team sent to the west of Rostrum also settles their land easily and soon had many buildings up and people living happily. The group that had been sent to the south of Rostrum was not as well off and came back to the Krakari defeated and leaving behind much of the supplies they had brought. Their research on the other hand went off perfectly with combustion fuels and engines being researched and the plans being drawn up and sent to the next step.

Gods

Gangari
Gangari focused his attention at turning the gigantic ship that the Collective had created into an item, giving it the power to not only fly but become almost alive with the power given to it.

Jashiki
Jashiki came out of the caves of the Cult of the eye and for the first time in many many years breathed the air of his original home. he tested out his powers to create a prophet in Aurora and give him the powers needed to prove he has been blessed.

Khalorean
The 50 mortals that had been chosen by Khalorean each found themselves living their lives faster, every action they try to do happening three times more than those around them. Khalorean himself found himself almost failing in his effort to bless then, he could feel his blessing almost not sticking to those he had chosen but a final push of power layed it down on them and set it. Showing him that he is not all powerful and can indeed fail if he is not careful.

Khalorean, 19 AP

Paying attention to his followers, Khalorean heard a prayer. There were many prayers and thoughts to listen to; but one of them stood out. Apparently it had been repeated for awhile, but he only just became aware of it.
In the middle of a building destroyed long ago, a man sat on a tree stump and prayed to a little picture he drew himself- of Khalorean. It was a rather pitiful drawing, but it was what the man could do. "Khalorean! I invoke thee. You have granted many of us very helpful powers, and grown our city with newcomers. But now our fields and orchards are overstressed. Please! Help us to better appreciate what you have given us."

Khalorean was standing behind the man. He continued praying, and his god got the chance to walk around in front of him, and stood over the crudely drawn paper. "I hear your prayer", Khalorean said to him, and got his attention. The man had tears in his eyes, happy to see his prayer coming true. "I have a gift to give to you." He reached out his hands, and held the man's forearms. Concentrating, Khalorean attempted to infuse a small portion of his swarm into the man's arms, to help speed the growth of the city's food production. But Khalorean didn't say what the gift was, in case it failed. He needed this man to become a missionary.

"I want to do more", Khalorean told the man. "Spread word of Me, and more will happen."

Difficulty: 5 Cost: 1AP (18 remain)
One of the blessed gets a second blessing. This one makes hives in the forearms that have their own swarms of bees. They can direct the bee swarm to do anything bees do anyway (make a hive for honey collection, pollinate plants, attack enemies or just chase them away). The hives do not cause damage or hurt or anything. Because a blessed person was used, and the bees are part of him, the speed blessing counts on them too.

Prince Daigoro, Jashipolis, Oilean Uisce

The family of Maximus' first son High Prince Aurelius lived in the centre of Jashipolis, widely regarded as one of the great four cities of Aurora. The Palace of Jashipolis was a recent building that had been constructed to give the heir to the Auroran throne a power base of his own, compared to the positively ancient palace in Nova Verde it was far more modern in design with gleaming white pillars and red velvet carpets lining every room. Situated at the back end of the city, it's gardens stretched off into the forest that stood in the centre of the island. Running in this garden was the six year old second son of Aurelius, chasing his older sister with a mischievous look in his almond eyes. A mixture of Novaren and native Archipelagan, he tended towards resembling his Tianese mother's side but the influence of Verde blood was still evident.

Legally, the boy's first name was actually the same as his father: Aurelius, or His Royal Highness Prince Aurelius Daigoro of Verde in full. To avoid confusion however, he was commonly known by his second name from his mother's people as it was expected he would eventually come to represent the Imperial family to them. His older brother Kaius didn't have any problem with confusion, his namesake being dead for over half a century, but Daigoro didn't mind, he liked his unique name.

"Daigoro! Erica! Come here!" their father called to them. The pair reluctantly trooped over to Aurelius, who stood besides a wizened old man who held a bundle of books under his arm and peered at the children through eyelids so wrinkled the warm brown eyes behind could barely be seen.

"This is Master Sung, head of the South School of Gangari and one of the most learned men in Aurora," Aurelius said sternly, "He's agreed spend some of his valuable time tutoring you two each week, so listen carefully and be respectful,"

"Hello young man," the elder knelt to shake Daigoro's hand with a gentle smile, "You may call me Wen,"

.

Master Wen Sung, Jashipolis, Oilean Uisce

"I knew your grandfather the Emperor when he was your age, you know," Wen mentioned offhand to the young prince, "He was a bright child, picked up on things fast,"

"Wow, you must be really old if you taught Grandpa!" Daigoro replied happily.

"I suppose I am," Wen said with a grumble. Once the two children were settled down, he began with the lesson. Opal sat watching silently from the side, munching an apple and waiting in-case her assistance was needed.

"Let's start with some geography," Wen started, producing a map from his bundle of books, "Either of you recognise this?"

"That's the islands way up north," Daigoro replied.

"Yes, the Balaenic Archipelago. Notice that the middle island looks like a whale, that's what is behind the name. Do you know why they are important?" Wen asked. Daigoro shook his head with a confused shrug.

"It's where they're building new places to live," Erica interjected smugly.

"Very good," Wen nodded with a smile, "This is the new focus on Aurora's expansion, so I want you to learn all of the island's names, after-all one of you may be ruling these islands one day!"

As the children got on with their studies, Wen read through a bundle of the news the school had been sent by their partners in the North School of Gangari in the Auroran Archipelago. He was intriguted to learn of a new cult that had emerged in some isolated villages of the Costa Nord, around a supposed god called Khalorean and mortals who had been granted power by this deity. Such legends were not unheard of course, but it was unusual that both men and Driders were following the same religion, communities who usually kept each other at arm's length.

"Master, look!" Wen's line of thought was broken by the cry of one of his young students, he looked up to follow the Prince's stubby finger. Sure enough, a brilliant blue line shot like a bolt across the sky from somewhere inside the city and then out over the ocean as far as the eye could see.

"Is that a comet?" Erica asked.

"Perhaps, I have never seen one before," Wen mused, checking the direction with a compass, "Whatever it is, it's due south-west, in the direction of the Ray-Das as the crow flies,"

.

Lar-Kai, outside Bar-Shk, Kingdom of Ray-Das

Lar-Kai groaned as the prison cart bumped along a steep mountain side, the city of Bar-Shk disappearing into the distance. Yesterday had been the third time she had been caught stealing from the market in a year. The last time according to the disdainful halfling judge who had sentenced her to five years contracted labour in a prison colony out west. She had yet to learn whether she was heading for Padonia or the Deep Tribes, she strongly hoped for the former as she detested the giant hulking lumps of stone almost as much as she did the law. In her thirty years on the Earth she had never quite seen eye-to-eye with those in authority.

Suddenly, there was a blinding flash of blue light and the cart tipped off the side of the road, tumbling down the cliff. Lar-Kai was thrown out of her seat and expected at any moment to be dashed to pieces but the crash never came. Instead she was enveloped in a glowing blue light and lifted up above the slope as the cart was smashed into a thousand pieces, the enforcement officers lying sprawled out like broken rag-dolls.

"I am the word of Jashiki, god of all the seas," the voice boomed, "You alone have been chosen to be his prophet and spread his word to all the halfings of this land. Are you capable of this task? It will not be an easy journey but at it's end there will be reward beyond all counting,"

"Jashiki?" Lar-Kai breathed, briefly remembering her mother talking about the lost god of her own father, "I will try, if he thinks I am worthy," she added humbly.

"Good," the light seemed to smile somehow, "Take these powers as proof of his blessing to you. They will give you the power to move water with no more than a wave of your hands."

"What am I to teach?" the halfling asked with a wrinkled brow.

"Teach that Jashiki is back," the voice said simply, "Other commandments will come later, but for now spreading his name is enough. The people must know,"

Grat shee, Labritory, Cage.

Hiero looks up from his desk one more time to make sure no one is coming as he experiments with some of the flying lizards that can be found in the forest. Using some of the experimental potion on them he watches as the cut on the back of the lizard slowly heals, as well as the whole body seeming to get more fit. Smiling to himself he makes a small victory dance as he watches it work, here was his proof. And he had made it just in time, Kesar was getting older by the day and he had wanted to finish this potion before it was to late. Picking up the small cup with the rest and walking out of his office he carries it over to Kesars desk and sets it down, knowing that when the old Grat comes back he will drink anything on his desk. Though that is the reason he can no longer do experiments on his own. Smiling and running back to his own room he rubs his hands together and waits for the surprised shout from Kesar.

Jashiki 19 AP, Oilean Uisce

Jashiki closes his eyes and looks at the girl who had been given his powers. Reading her mind and laughing softly as he sees that she is not only a thief but seems to not be amazing at it. Shaking his head and watching her sprint away from the cart she had been being hauled away in he nudges her towards one of the larger city's close by and lets her make her own way. She would be fine, even if she get there with some scrapes and bruises it would give her some time to think about what had happened.

Turning his attention towards the north and siting on the top of the mountain in a small pool he had created he focuses on the north as some of the cult sit and meditate in the water. As they watched him Jashiki keeps watching the north for that one person he needs. Searching slowly and jerking upright when he finds who he wants he can feel the hate and anger inside the person. Looking over the anger and tilting his head slightly as he delves into his mind Jashiki slowly looks through his memorys and thoughts before nodding. This one would do, even if it did not go as well as he hoped it would have to do. Taking a deep breath and moving through space instantly he lands in the small cell, making the occupant jump in surprise and fear Jashiki sits down across from the Aurorian and looks over at him. The silence deafening between them for several long seconds before the man blurts out.
"You don't look like any of the pictures of statues of the father."

Smiling slightly Jashiki nods his head slightly.
"I would not think so, since I was taken from these temples before you were born. If you had been a halfling you would have recognized me. My name is Jashiki and I am the resurrected god of water."

The man stares for a few seconds before turning his head and spitting.
"A god, just what I need."

Jashiki laughs lightly and reaches over to break the shackles keeping the man on the wall. Allowing him to sit for the first time in a long time.
"I know that you have little use for the gods you know, since they have never helped you or yours. Many of those you had heard about were dead or gone before you asked for help and even now I can see that you do not want to really believe. But I will make you a deal. I get you out of here and into another city and you will not only worship me but become a prophet to the Aurorian people."

Staring at Jashiki in consternation he sits on the worn cot on the side of the cell and keeps staring. Obviously waiting for Jashiki to leave and never come back or wake up just to find it was all a dream. As he waits and nothing happens he slowly considers the option before nodding sharply, looking at Jashiki with hard blue eyes.
"Fine, ill take your offer. Get me out of here and I will spread your word."

Smiling Jashiki grabs the man by his shoulder and suddenly they are both just outside the capitol of Aurora, the bustle faintly heard even from where they were. Looking at astonishment at the city and then up at Jashiki he starts to open his mouth before jashiki digs his nails into his shoulder causing him to scream. The instant the pain was there it was gone again. The only thing left was a whisper.
"Do my work, or go back. Your name is now Valin."
