2103. It is the year that is getting closer and closer to be known as the Year of the Human. Mythos are almost extinct. Everywhere you look, everything you watch, theirs lives are being quenched, purged, eliminated, whatever you dare call it. They are dying. We are dying. The war is drawing closer and closer to an end and the Mythos, well we are on the losing side of it. I have seen the broadcasts, I have watched the lives being snuffed out with the flashes of muzzles and the spilling of blood and I refuse to stand by and watch as my fellow brothers are brought to light and slaughtered for the hungry masses of barbaric humans. I take up my arms in protest. I take up my arms to fight. I take up my arms to find peace for my people, no matter the cost.
-Anonymous 2103-

A TV screen flashes as some bimbo in a skirt and short cut blouse gives her share of the news today, "And today, peace talks with the American president were brought to a close, as the public speaker for the Mythos species was gunning down at peace talks by what appeared to be U.N Special Forces. U.N officials have yet to release a statement, but a leak suggests that the peace talks were a lure for the public icon."

A hidden smile, just the turns of her lips reveals that there is no sympathy from her. Like millions of humans, to her, we are animals needing to be put down. She returns to her 'news', "And in related news, riots began in Vancouver, New York and London, as Mythos and Mythos sympathizers took to the streets in protest of the new laws, stating that Mythos have had their basic human rights revoked, therefore eliminating the need to the term 'polite warfare.' The protests were brought to an end, by Anti-Mythos task squads who opened fire upon the mobs. The total death count has been put at three human deaths¬ and 64 Mythos, with 32 humans injured and 116 Mythos?"

A new general stood before his troops in the dark. The lightning from the storm lit up the general's face showing a pale face with one red iris and one blue iris. The more visible veins were stained black contrasting the fair pale skin on his face and neck. Instead of the normal army gear, he instead wore a black pinstripe suit and crimson red tie, "Welcome to your new unit," he said scanning over the group of soldiers he had handpicked for this mission, "Today, you are taking a further step in helping your fellow Mythos, helping protect those who have fallen from the sight of the world."

He looked at the faces of the beasts, the monsters that stood before him, "I see your hate, I see your anger and I see your malice. These can be used harness them against our executioners, turn your emotions on those who killed without. Today shall raise a red sun and we will have our Mythos brothers back."

H speech was met with cries of victory and malice. He rose his hands to silent the masses, the roaring was dull to his ears as he thought what they were about to do. He was going to clease the blood off of his hands, justify the two years that he had left them, the year that he was gone. Since 2101 when the incident in France had happened, more blood had been spilled. Gone were the days where they could run into battle and have normal bullets pass through him. Soldiers now had the loadouts to take down, even the strongest Mythos, individual sabot rounds, Satan's Bane, silver, you name it, and a soldier had it on his person.

"This mission, this entire squad is a suicide squad. You were picked because you have nothing left except the wish to help your brothers and you shall, every mission you fight will inspire those others, our brothers to fight back, to not resign to die, we will not stand back and watch more and more Mythos die. This is not just a human world, this is Earth, home for us as well and we're going to take it back, we will find piece, if it means walking to the U.N itself."

He paused for one more piece of the speech, "This is not a fight to exterminate, the humans did that too well already, not this is a fight for equality for safety, so your children, brothers, nephews and nieces will not live in fear, they can have jobs, families, lives. This is about them not us, so join me as we help our brothers and sisters to freedom now!"

Those who did not have reservations in this RP, are with the general right now

Something was going to happen today, he knew it. His head was starting to clear for the first time in several days, at least he thought it had been that long. They only took him off his drugs when they had something important to try out, that needed his most realistic reaction. But he didn't plan on making it easy for them.

Wesley had been going through their tests for two years, stuck in the same 10'x10' cell the whole time, given just enough food and water to sustain him without actually keeping him too healthy. At the end of every day the lights would dim for a couple hours, then turn back up in the "morning", as he understood it. There was no other way for him to gauge the passage of time. The walls of the cell were now scored deep with scratches and gouges on all sides, reminders to the "doctors" not to let their guard down.

For the first month or so of his imprisonment, they simply studied him as a being. Made him transform into as many different forms as they could think of while he was wired to various machines. They checked his rate of regeneration, finding that he healed much faster than normal and labeling him an important subject.

He took every opportunity to try and escape. He didn't attack unless they hurt him first, he just wanted to leave. The food they gave him was refused for a long time and he lost most of his muscle mass, but eventually his body forced him to take the nutrition. Repeated failures and punishments broke his will soon and he simply gave up. For more than a year he simply took the abuse and lived in a half-consciousness, barely speaking a word during the whole span.

The doctors took more liberties with the testing, causing more severe harm to his body and mind in the face of his submission. He was kept at the tests for much longer periods of time, stretching his stamina and layering weeks of fatigue on top of each other. Finally, he stopped taking it.

He started to threaten the doctors and became more aggressive towards them. The tests became less frequent and less fruitful because of his resistance. The doctors started keeping more "orderlies", soldiers armed with stun batons, around whenever they interacted with him.

Regaining his strength became his most common method of passing the time. He used any method he could think of to keep his muscles busy, often turning into a bear or other large creature to vent his anger against the concrete and tile of the walls. The doctors, unwilling to give up such a tenacious test subject, started to medicate his food and water to subdue his emotional responses and keep him in a constant mental haze. He still tried to resist, but with much less vigor than before. However some of their more important projects required him to be at full mental capacity to get the result they wanted, and he started to learn this and make the most of his time when not under the influence of their meds.

He sat on his cot watching the door, waiting for his doctor to come by. As predicted, the small screen slid open, revealing the tempered glass window the doctor always checked on him through.

"Good morning Wesley."

A small concrete cell, smaller than the usual 10'x10' cells they used to house the other subjects, but that was natural of course, because what they stored in here didn't have the same requirements as the others.
The only objects in this particular cell were a surveillance camera and a dolley chained to the far wall. On this dolley and in this cell Rolf had spent the time between the plentiful experiments that he had been exposed to over the last two years, bound with restraints and chains made out of some unknown metal that even he could not break.
Rolf cared little that two years had passed since his imprisonment, after all, he had stopped feeling the passage of time after being undead for a few decades, but he still recalled what had happened during those years quite clearly.

The first couple of months they had preformed a variety of medical experiments on him, often dissecting him to observe his insides, cutting off limbs and extremities, and exposing him for fire, acid, extreme cold, and increased pressure.
Later, the as the experiments dwindled in number, it became a sort of sport to rend, explode, and burn his body with wounds that would have been fatal to any living being to see how long it took for him to recover.
He guessed that this was due to the fact that they did not manage to unlock the secret behind his resistance to conventional weapons, nor his ability to mend himself over time, but for all he knew it could have been purely out of spite.
After withstanding several weeks of this treatment he was moved to the weapon research division and used alternatively as a test subject for new armaments and target practice for the lab security teams.

Rolf clenched his clawed fist as he thought about it, and he felt the rage boil up inside him as the metal in the restraints screamed to contain his strength.
Even though he did not feel pain, having his body ripped apart regularly made him hate those responsible. As a result Rolf grew colder, showing less of his, already scarce, emotions, appearing no more than a soulless animated corpse unless he became enraged.

He has also become less fond of Humans, but deep inside he also knows that their whole race is not responsible, or perhaps it is just some lingering affection for the race he once belonged to? No matter.
What matters, however, is that he bears what could be called an eternal grudge against the U.N., and will show no mercy against anyone associating with them.
This is only in part due to the experiments conducted on him by the U.N., as he is more upset about them daring to imprison and harm his warband without any chance of a fair retaliation, but perhaps most of all most of all, because they have stolen the last item from his grave.

A battlecry pierces the room as he puts all of his strength to bursting the restraints, even though there is no use doing so, they creak and scream, but they will never bend or break.

UN base, Weapon Research Wing, Observation room

The guard poured himself a cup of coffee as he glanced over to the observation monitors. "Doesn't that thing ever get tired?"

"It's dead, of course it doesn't tire out." The researcher on duty replied as he sorted through the notes from the latest weapons test, the results being sketchy at best, they probably had to schedule another test sometime this week to get any proper results.

The guard sipped his coffee as he looked at Rolf still trying to burst out of his constraints. "Yeah, but it has to realize that it's pointless sooner of later..."

"Hah! Like that's ever going to happen, it's been doing that since day one. And I hear that it wasn't any better over in the medical wing. Apparently it only stops when you remove it's arms."

The researcher got up from his workspace in the small darkened room and walked over to the wall of monitoring equipment. "It does have points for sheer tenacity in my book, though. It doesn't stop even if it's pointless."

He shrugs, "But I guess that's just how they are, the Mythos' minds and thought processes are completely alien compared to our own, you know? Who knows what they're thinking about?"

"Yeah, I guess you've got a point there." The guard says as he notices the time and empties his cup, "Gotta go make the rounds, be back in 40 minutes or so. Make a new pot of coffee till then, ok? This one's getting cold."

Eryn sat in her cell, huddled in one of the four corners. She sat like this everyday, only moving when they brought her food, or when they forcibly removed her to run one of the many agonizing test. She was in one of the facilities maximum security cells. They wouldn't allow anyone direct contact with her unless she was heavily drugged.

When she first arrived at this facility one of the guards foolishly let her out of her silver cuffs and began to taunt her. The expression on his face when she transformed and bit into his jugular was beyond amusing. She remembered the satisfying crunch sound his neck made. After that little incident the guards never went near her unless they were sure that she couldn't get to them. It was funny how a bunch of grown men were scared of a young girl who was half their size.

She looked to her right and added another scratch to the cell wall. There was now seven-hundred and thirty scratches. Each one representing how many days she had spent in hell.

Two years. I've been here for two years.

"Hey! Mutt!" Eryn quickly snapped out of her own thoughts. She didn't look to see who was talking to her. That mixture of disgusting cologne, alcohol, and cigarettes made him recognizable to her. It was him. He had been assigned to keep watch over her after the first guard failed to do so. He didn't really do his job though. Most of his time was spent coming up with clever names for her. "Mutt" was one of the newer ones.

She heard the tranquilizer being prepared but didn't react. When she felt the needle plunge into her thigh she welcomed the darkness. At least then she wouldn't have to deal with those disgusting humans.

***************************
When she opened her eyes she was blinded by the bright lights, making her quickly regret her decision. "Hello Eryn. I'm glad to see that you are awake. Today we have a very special test for you."

She tried to move her arm. She wanted to rip the doctors' face off but she couldn't. Her legs and arms were bound with leather straps, and she felt a needle in the vain of her forearm. Eryn forced her eyes open once again and scanned the room. She was surrouned by doctors and guards. Her eyes suddenly widened when she saw the IV they were about to give her. The distinct lustrous color gave it away. It was silver.

"Ah, I see you've noticed our little IV bag. Well, we wanted to see how your body would react when we put liquefied silver into your blood stream. It should be extremely interesting."

Eryn felt nothing but fear in that moment. They were intentionally going to inject her body with silver.. just to see how she reacted. Humans really were monsters. They claimed to be a kind race but when they didn't approve of something they quickly tried to dispose of it.

"Well then, let the test begin."

The general looked down at the Mythos in front of him. They were used to being called monsters, to have words of hate and fear cast down to them, they were used to being hated. That wouldn't change in this group, humans would fear them, humans would hate them, but peace...peace was not the primary goal of this organization, no matter what he or anyone said. This group was about survival, about bringing their people back and about preparing for a greater war than that had already been fought.

He looked at the rag tag group, "You most likely have questions, I'm gonna answer those questions that I see fit. The first I know that you are all wondering is how the fuck you wound up working for me, outside of the Resistance command and slapped into a suicide mission. Well that is because I picked you all, yes even you human," he added looking at the lone human in the group, "Yes I made sure you all were here to work for me, because you're useful and I need useful people."

He continued, "The second thing you're all wondering is what we are doing here, just outside of a UN test facility. We're here to break out some Mythos that I know and trust, these Mythos are the ones that were captured in Paris two years ago. We are getting them out, maybe two years too late, but they are coming with us now."

He stopped suddenly and faced the group, "Now do I have any questions at all? Make them quick, we strike soon."

Tilting his head to the ground, Justin felt uncomfortable after being singled out. Sure, he was on their side, and at least the general knew it, but he was still human. He didn't have amazing powers to help him fight or survive, just his wits and his weapons, which he could feel getting heavier just from thinking about them. He had the standard loadout of varied ammunitions to defeat any Mythos threat, but for a raid on a UN facility he packed the special bullets away and picked up armor-piercing bullets for his rifle.

As he stared, he pictured that vampire he helped and wondered where she was right now. He referred to her as Erin, since she looked like an Erin, but he never really knew her name, and was determined to find her and ask. It was a big world, and he had other duties, but he'd search for her any chance he got.

"No questions...sir," Vasilli mutters, cracking his fingers idly as he replies to the General.

"Actually...one. What happens if they can control those Mythos now? Do we put them down or what?" he asks, raising his eyebrow in question.

"If these vermin from the Human United Nations can control our brothers that have been captured..." Burst began with a growl. "Then we must free them, one way or another."

A deep rumbling could be heard from within his throat. The stench of the human among them was obvious, but Burst refrained from ripping his tiny head off... for now. This human was, for all intents and purposes, an ally, and he did not kill his allies... That was something humans did. Though he did not agree completely with his late brother, he would fight for what Squall believed in. He would fight to see his brother's dream of unity between human and Mythos realized.

"Good morning Wesley."

Wes stood up and leaned in close to the window. "How's your neck?"

The doctor instinctively reached up and rubbed the canine-like bite scab, then quickly regained composure. "It's fine." he said nonchalantly, "Better than you're going to be at the end of today."

"You can't scare me anymore." Wes said, hatred dripping from his words. This was the same doctor that's been overseeing his "progress" since he was imprisoned. The closest Wesley had felt to happiness in a long time had been when he closed his jaws around the bastards neck. That was the last time they had taken him off the meds, and he was looking forward to taking another shot.

"I think you'll be surprised." the doctor said confidently. The door cracked open and a pair of orderlies entered with riot shields. Instantly, they faced a polar bear. Wes pushed his way around the confines of the room, trying to crush them. The two dropped to the ground and brandished their electrified batons, jolting the bear repeatedly. Wes roared and rolled over top of one of them. A muffled scream escaped from underneath his bulk.

The other man jabbed at the head with his weapon, catching Wes on the temple. The shock of it was enough to make him shift back to human. He held the side of his head and launched himself at the guard, wrenching the baton from his grip. Before Wes could get a swing, the guard shield-bashed him and pressed him into a corner of the room. He twisted the baton up into Wesley's armpit, forcing a scream out of him.

The doctor finally entered the room, pushing a small cart. Another orderly followed him in. "Lay him down." he commanded.

The first backed away and Wes slumped to the ground, breathing heavily and twitching from the electricity. They each grabbed an arm and pulled him onto the cot, then held him down by his shoulders.

"We think we might be able to cure your problem, Wesley." the doctor said, taking a clamp-like device and inserting a small metal ring. He put it over the top of Wes's ear and squeezed the handle, bringing forth another cry of pain from the mythos and causing blood to flow.

"We believe that your particular abilities are neurological in nature." he continued, releasing the clamp and pulling it away. On the top of Wesley's ear was a hole about a quarter of an inch across, with what appeared to be a metal grommet surrounding it.

"It appears that if we can turn your neurological signals to something more human, you will cease to be anything but one. That's why we invented this." He picked up a small rectangular tag and held it in front of Wesley's face. "This will cure you."

He clipped the tag through the grommet, making a positive connection on all sides of the circle. He then took another device with what resembled a small, bent wire on the tip and inserted it. The device spun several times until it audibly clicked, locking the tag shut.

"Release him." The orderlies reluctantly let go of his arms. Wes immediately tackled the doctors legs and brought him to the ground, then went for his neck. He felt the rush of his vengeance, the excitement. . . then the splitting pain inside his head. A choked cry escaped his throat. He rolled off to his side, clutching his head in both hands.

"It's a success then." the doctor said, standing up. He pushed the cart out of the room, leaving the orderlies to pick up the man Wes had crushed.

The pain quickly faded from Wesley's mind, but he continued to lay on the floor. He clenched his teeth and squeezed his eyes shut. I was so close...

"Why are you doing this? If you leave the silver in too long I'll die. I'm one of your most important test subjects. You can't let me die." Eryn was trying to convince them to run another test. Anything but this.

"Eryn, we need to do this." The doctor, whose name she never bothered to learn, spoke in a matter of fact tone. "You are half human. Therefore, your resistance to silver is much higher than that of a full blooded werewolf. We want to see how much your body can handle. Don't worry, we won't kill you. However you will experience a tremendous amount of pain."

The fear that Eryn had previously felt was quickly replaced by rage. She wanted nothing more than to kill everyone in the room, especially the head doctor. You pompous son of a *****.

"Let's not delay this any longer. Start the IV."

Eryn closed her eyes, waiting for the silver to enter her bloodstream. Everyone in the room was quiet. The only sound that could be heard was the "drip, drop" coming from the IV tube. She dug her nails into her palm, pressing down as hard as she could until she finally drew blood.

Finally, the silver entered her bloodstream.

Pain. That's the only word that could describe what she felt. First she felt as if her arm muscles were being slowly ripped apart. The feeling soon spread throughout her entire body. Her body convulsed, shaking the table she was strapped to. She stayed partially transformed for a majority of the time.

She screamed in anguish as the silver continued to devastate her body. The pain was unbearable. It was as if someone had replaced her blood with liquid fire and then doubled her heart rate. With each beat of the labored muscle, fresh tendrils of agony lashed her helpless body, suffusing every nerve ending with white hot magma.

After a few minutes one of the physicians spoke. "Perhaps we should stop. If we prolong this test any longer she'll die." The doctor nodded and signaled for the others to stop the IV. "Quickly, get the solution. Remember to inject it into her neck. If you don't then she'll die and this whole test will have been a waste."

The doctors' assistants cautiously walked up to Eryn, needle in hand. Eryn couldn't see what they had put into the syringes, she was still in too much pain. They quickly found the vain and inserted the needle.

"The solution we made should destroy any silver left in your system. It won't take the pain away, of course. We got what we needed. Now take her back to her cell."

The guards untied Eryn, who was now fading in and out of consciousness. Her eyes were glazed over, and her body was twitching. She shot one last look back to the doctor. Just wait.. Just wait until I get out of here. I'm coming straight after you. I'm gonna tear your fingers off one by one until you beg for mercy. Then..... I'm gonna skin you alive..

Eryn was thrown into her cell. She tried to move but quickly found out that that was impossible. Her body hurt way too much for her to move. Instead she stayed where she was, thinking of how many different ways she could murder the doctor.

The general looked at the rest of the group, a quick smile skirted over his face, "Good no more questions then." He drew their attention to the table in front of them, where he laid a crisp looking set of blueprints for everyone to look at:

Now we know that one of the subjects is being held in the isolation chamber near the center rear of the prison. She is a werewolf, and a dangerous one at that. Do not approach her in anyway,do not release her, until I am present, doing so will result in your own death by my hand, or by hers. She is too unstable for me to predict her behaviour and so i am only trying to save your own lives. The Jayx and the Unborn will be taking this section, Isolation is not well guarded, but the doors are thick, we need two beings that can remove any barriers to the Isolation Chamber. Once this is done radio me and I will get there as soon as possible.

The general then pointed at the Weapons Testing Facility, "This is where the Draugr is being held. Due to his longevity he is bound to be less hostile. Talk to him, tell him his old leader from Paris has come to take. If he reacts violently, radio me and do not free him. If he is civilized bring him to Isolation once it has been cleared. This area is going to have guards that are extremely well equipped so be cautious and think before you strike. The Arashei and the Dragonkin are taking this area, as they have more defensive skin and take more before going down. I remind you that this is more than just a prison and they will have the latest and greatest in Anti-Mythos tech, so don't do anything that will cause that to be turned on you. You will have to act fast, as the test facility is near where we will be laying the secondary charges, you must move to attack the guard before they intercept the rest of the forces.

"Me and the human are going to the, hopefully, final location in our short stop at this Prison," he pointed at the classified section of the map, "I don't know what is in this area and we have no recent intel on it at all. However I can't find any other area where they would be keeping the Skinwalker, so that is where we are going to look for him."

"Since this area is very sensitive, we needed people that both know slightly where they are going and that look like humans. The human and myself fill these qualifications and thus that is why we are going there."

Infiltration is going to go in two stages. I have snipers posted at the holding cells area, where our first larger charge is placed. When we are in position, they will detonate the charge, drawing most of the guard to the holding cells, where Mythos will be fleeing and they will be left open to the shells of our snipers. While the distraction is going on, we are going to the Equipment Room, where most of the arms and such are kept. Our secondary charge will be set there and detonated when we are given the signal. It is at this point that we break off into out little groups and move towards liberating the prisoners."

He pointed at the primary explosives, "By this point the troops will have either figured out we're not coming that way, or dead so that will be our exfiltration spot. We will move out, under sniper fire and move to the transportation APC that will be waiting at the coordinates that we will arrive at. It is at that point that we will retreat and regroup with our new team members."

The general snapped close the blueprints, "You have one hour to prepare and meet and greet your new team, at exactly 200 hour we will be moving to the prison under this wonderful darkness and cloud cover we have gotten tonight to initiate the plan. You are all dismissed. Any questions you have, I will be in my tent and the door is open."

Without another word the general left the troops and walked into his tent to prepare himself for the battle.

This is the brief time between the incoming battle and action that will leave little time for character development and interaction. Thus take this time to meet new team members and who you will be doing your group with. Soon we will be taking the battle field

Azure stood against a wall and remained silent throughout the briefing, the plan sounded simple enough for him, he just hoped that there wouldn't be any problems, he could handle himself, he knew that, but could the others handle themselves? he began to think about the days before his clan was slaughtered, but all he could remember was one face, the face of a human stained in blood, a picture of absolute horror on his face as Azure crushed his neck, at this thought Azure smiled for a moment, he didn't care if anyone wanted a clean operation, he would stain that building with blood.

sorry if this is a bit late, been at a friend's house so haven't been online much at all sorry, and for the record i typed this after just waking up so it's not great quality or anything.

"Uh, hey guys, I'm Justin," he began, nervously facing the group, "and if anyone couldn't tell, I'm the human. I gave up... pretty much everything to be here, so I hope I can just earn you guys' trust, despite not being like you. I mean, what these people are doing is pretty bad, and I want to stop it however I can... and I'm pretty scared by the fact that you guys could kill me pretty easily, but, uh, I hope it never comes to that." Sighing, he just shrugged as he thought of nothing else to tell the group.

The tall Jayx walked up to the human, extending a hand from the sleeve of his dinner jacket, flashing a little red and black fur along with pale blue skin.
His face was friendly and inviting, but the fangs from the jaw said one thing: 'A monster'.

"Shimmers. Michael Shimmers, glad to meet you, sure hope you won't turn on us"
Michael grinned at the man and fixed the collar of his red shirt under his vest and then smiling again.
"Then I'll have to do something drastic and regretful"

"Justin Tanner," he replied, shaking Michael's hand, "and I can't see how anyone would think that's a good idea with someone like you around. No offense, but I can just tell you could rip me apart."

Michael smiled with a glee and winked at him.
"Son, I cannot harm an honorable comrade! If you are my ally, then you are my friend. As soon as you stop being my ally, you are my enemy"

Michael walked behind Justin, and turned around looking at the others.
"To me, the only middle ground are the civilians. The soldiers of the U.N. and us are either allies or enemies....nothing more"

Michael's face was of sadness as his eyes trailed in a gazing awe into nothingness.
He quickly snapped out of it and snorted as he walked past the group and toward his tent.

Why comrade? why?
He thought to himself, to a long missed memory that just re-surfaced.

The General sat in his tent. He looked at the sword, the bow that would usually accompany him into battle sat instead in a stand in his tent. Appearances would have to be precise and so he was going into battle with a 9mm silenced pistol and he silenced SMGs hidden on the inside of his suit. He sighed one more time and walked out of the tent. Around him various Mythos were packing up the tents and camp, preparing to move out while the mission was going on....

Two Dryads snuck along the borders of the Mythos containment camp. They moved in union, twins, linked through birth and would be linked until death. One of the Dryads set a charge against the wall, padding it with a remote charge. The only thing to give it away was the tell-tale red light blinking. The two Dryads quickly retreated to the sniping nest and radioed in that it was time for the mission to begin. The General grabbed his troops and they made for the opposite side of the complex. The General set his charge on the side of the building and readied his weapon...

One of the prison guards was making his daily rounds around the complex when a small light caught his eye. He walked towards it, squinting at the light until he saw, "Oh God," he said, grabbing his radio, about to speak into it when the detonation was triggered, blasting a giant hole in the holding cells. Guards and prisoners poured out of the complex and the sounds of automatic fire began and the Dryads waited for a chance to begin sniping...

A smaller charge was detonated on the other side of the builder and the guards were blasted back. They got up shaking and were quickly dropped by two bullets fired from the silenced pistols. The general walked into the now empty room and faced the others, "Alright move to your respected areas, I want to get in and get out. You're dismissed."

He pocketed the pistol and walked with the human past the dark corridors and into the complex, while the others fanned out into their respective areas.

Wesley held his shirt under the water in his small sink. Blood had caked on one side of his face and in his hair from the doctor's procedure. He wiped the damp cloth over his cheek and temple, then rubbed it vigorously through his hair, all the while being careful not to touch the tender ear.

He put down the red-stained rag and looked into his mirror. Gingerly, he bent his ear around so he could see it. It was just a small, silver rectangle a quarter of an inch wide and about three quarters of an inch long. He frowned at the sight of it and tried to pry it open with his fingers. Of course, it wouldn't give.

He sighed and gritted his teeth, feeling his anger building. I'm going to kill that doctor one day. I'm going to tear him to pieces and I'm going to leave this place. But not before I make him take the tag off.

A deep rumble suddenly rolled through his room, making the floor shake slightly and the lights dim. He leaned against the wall, then quickly moved to his door. Maybe some test went wrong. he thought with grim excitement, Maybe someone else broke free.

The slider was slightly ajar, leaving him a sliver of space to see through the window. A couple of people hurried past, but there wasn't too much activity from what he could see. What's going on?

Burst moved forward with his orders, going with the Arashei towards the Weapons Testing Facility. The Mythos he had been paired with was unique. His skin smelled of various chemicals, several toxic, and some potentially explosive. They were to free the Draugr, an ancient undead being. The smell of the undead was very distinctive, it smelled not entirely unlike death, but still different.

"Tell me, creature." Burst addressed the Arashei. "What grudge do you hold against the humans?"

Justin walked through the halls with the General, rifle at the high ready. One guard appeared to his left, but only after raising his weapon did Justin fire two shots to his chest. The guard's armor would have stopped normal rounds, but it wasn't a match for the armor-piercing bullets in the magazine.

Suddenly choked by a riot baton, he slammed his rifle over his right shoulder and struck the choking guard in the face, causing him to stumble. Not having time to line up a shot, Justin spun around and struck again to the guard's chest. The guard swung down, knocking the rifle out of his hands, so he lunged forward and tackled the guard into the wall behind him. Justin got two hits on the guard's face before feeling the baton hit his left ear. Clutching the ear, Justin pushed himself backwards and drew his sidearm, firing one shot into the guard's face. Getting back on his feet, the put the pistol away and picked up the rifle, following the General who had just kept walking.

Vote of confidence, or apathy? he wondered. I'm gonna go with the former and hopefully be right. Raising his rifle, he kept following as unarmed guards and scientists fled by.
