heh doesnt that remind you of television. The whole your mind will turn to mush and fall out your ears and such used to scare people away from tv.723N said:lol. My parents used to say similar stuff. My favorite one was, "It will fry your brain."
What the fuck does that even mean?
My mum said that the ohter week. Because everyone was winding down after a full term back and handing in the terms work nobody had time for each other. Now its half term and i have so far slept 2 nights at home out of 7, and havent been sober since Friday. Now shes complaining I'm never around anymoreHT_Black said:Someone once hammered on about how they were all stupid, meaningless, and plotless (keep in mind, said family member hasn't played anyhthing since the dawn of Galaga).
My reply:
"One word: Bioshock."
That was the last I heard about that.
EDIT: There was also a time one of my family warned me that I wasn't spending enough time with my friends. For her benefit, I related the details of my last conversation with my friend David-- she had to go take a shower afterwards.
No shit. I've never had this stuff because my brother and dad are both obsessive computer gamers, my dad never stops playing world of warcraft, he has like 20 level 80 characters in loads of different servers and about 300,000 gold on each character and I never believed the bad eyesight thing because I never stop looking at screens, I've got used to it, and I have amazing eye sight.Martyn106 said:"You're becoming too anti-social"
Quite a few will make you smarter. Somebody even wrote a book about it. I believe it was called "How Video games make you smarter"TheSeventhLoneWolf said:I'm curious to what people's parents/friends make up to stop you from playing your games. Hopefully we come across something bizzarre. Though my mother kept saying it was making me stupid, yet i passed my exams.
You just summed up my mother sir, except of course since I'm British you should replace American Idol with X-Factor. Now I feel sad she's so generic.Jedoro said:"It's a waste of time."
...say the people who oh-so-usefully spend their time watching reality shows and American Idol
I heard something similar to this when I had bought a gaming magazine years ago. The guy behind me just said that to me, and I paid him no mind, kept playing games, and still ended up doing pretty good in school. Then again, it was hard to take him seriously when he was decked out in camouflage. You know, so deer won't spot him in the thick, wooded underbrush of the local Wal-Mart.GoliathJT said:I've been told ever since I was little "They will rot your brain cells and make you retarded."
